Mustang Creek Estates

I think they are fabulous. The only issue we have had has been with the communication with the pharmacy, and the doctors. That's not on Mustang Creek though they are awesome.

The rooms are on the small size, but can fit a full size bed, large dresser or sideboard, recliner, mini refrigerator, etc. comfortably if creatively arranged. They come unfurnished. The bathroom is large and can accommodate a wheelchair if needed. There is also a closet that has a bar and shelf but you can also add bins, stacked containers, and a laundry basket at the bottom.

We have had a wonderful experience with the care at Mustang Creek Allen. The caregivers remain consistent and truly go out of their way to make our dad (and us!) comfortable. His room is always clean and he has opportunities to be with other residents. We love the smaller cottage atmosphere. He enjoys "most" the meals and although his room is small it is set up well. The handyman there on site always can help as well.

Overall experience has been great. Staff, though sometimes I think should be more, have been caring, helpful. Food leaves something to be desired. Bland , but understand the need.

[name removed] was a needy resident and sometimes she felt like she wasn't getting enough attention. She loved the workers and loved the food. I would recommend it.

My dad doesn't like being there. He says the food is tasteless. When I've been there, the food looks good. The facility is kept really clean. The van has been broken down, so he has not been able to go on any outings. It is my understanding that it is fixed now. They only give dad a bath on m, w, f, which he also doesn't like. He wants one everyday. I feel good about him being there. I am relieved to know that someone is checking on him everyday. He does not want this to be a long term solution, but it might have to be.

Positive experience. Everyone was friendly. Process was smooth and well explained. My mom loves the activities, and the house living lifestyle. Place is very clean and the food is good. Overall very happy with the decision thus far. I would recommend them to others who are searching for senior living for their loved one.

The care services is a 3 only because my mom is high needs and is really more than they are designed for not really a knock on them. The daytime staff has always been very friendly and helpful. The activity director is so cute and really works hard to have a variety of things for the residents. The director has been good about responding and addressing needs and questions. They are up front and honest with their communication.

I like the small "house" concept. We have never had more than 7 residents at a time in our building. The rooms are modest but the staff really keep the residents out in the "living room" common area as much as possible. Because it is memory care, there isn't as much interaction between residents but they have staff that lead activities. My mom participates in every activity they have from flower arranging to painting nails to singing. She loves all the activities. The food preparation varies from who is working that day. Some of the staff are better cooks than others but my mom only picks at her food anyway. The staff does change frequently but this appears to be the norm. At other memory care places my mom has been, the turnover of staff was always high. By and large, the staff are attentive and helpful and pleasant. I visit my mom several times a week and she is always clean, her room and clothes are clean and she is happy. I would recommend Mustang Creek to anyone looking for a small, more personal environment.

I appreciate the convenient location and friendliness of the staff. The common areas are well maintained but would like to see improvements in cleaning resident rooms and paper supplies.

Our family feels that mom is getting excellent care at Mustang Creek. The staff is so calm and gentle with the residents. They are prompt to address any issues we notice, which aren't that many. The activities are twice daily and engaging. Mustang Creek was a good fit for our mother. We have an on going problem with clothes and bed linens disappearing, but suspect that it is a universal problem at all facilities. For that, I'll give them a 4, but the staff gets a solid 5

The staff is always willing to listen and takes their time with each resident. If we have a special Request for either one of uur parents, the staff tries to accommodate that as well. Our parents love in separate rooms but they spend most of the day together. The staff tries to honor residents and who they are as people. The facility Itself is kept clean and always has fresh baked goods.

They are good. I wish we would get monthly or 2x a month updates on the person there, how they are doing. I would especially like to know if the loved one is being compliant with meds

The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is delicious. The room is always clean and so are the common areas.

The communication up front on the process, what to expect, I like the smaller scale / house set up. Works well for my mom. They respond quickly to my questions.

It has been a great fit for us. The size is nice and the staff is responsive. They are open to feedback. We appreciate the very hard job they do!

The people in charge and the caregivers need to work on communicating the basic needs of the new people moving in. That is the only true complaint I have. I loved the homie feeling of the facility and the honesty of the staff.

Overall 4 stars. Food: doesn't sound very nutritious. Lots of carbs: cheap white bread, a lot of noodles/pasta. Staff care is OK. They don't seem very well trained. Example, one of the helpers was bandaging my mom's arm after she had scraped it. The girl put bandages directly on the skin of a 96 year old with very thin skin. as you can imagine pulling the Band-Aids/tape off was excruciating, and it was a large area. However, most of the staff seems friendly and kind. The place smells decent so they must clean it fairly well. My mom seems to enjoy the activities. And she seems to be getting the care she needs. The small group environment had been a blessing for mom. I think she would've been overwhelmed in a larger facility.

Having smaller houses with a fixed staff is nice and you get real close to the staff and residents. Ms. Summer is an excellent house manager and goes way beyond any reasonable expectation and she is an excellent cook as well. Some younger staff members have good care skills and may learn to be better cooks with time The smaller house sizes do really well at catering for a residents needed care level. Just be aware over time ones care level does change and that can require a move to a different house but still the move cost is trivial

I’d say they should take the time to visit communities and interact with the people there, do their research about payment options, and make sure they can afford things in the long run before selecting a place. MC has been a good fit for my MIL.
