Mustang Creek Estates

Like many other facilities there is a lot of turnover. It is better than most from my research, so yes I would recommend the community to other families based on the experience so far.

Families have to stay on top of staff to make sure they do what you expect them to do. Timing and delivery of meds not always on target. Most of the staff were caring, but we did witness the opposite more than once.

They were willing to provide the extra care and service he needed. They have a cluster of homes in each location. For different levels of needs.

Staff is caring and loving. They make it as close to a home environment as possible. Rooms are small, but adequate. Amenities are pretty standard.

They worked with us on price. Seem very helpful and accommodating. Seems like they come and go. Activity directors. So that impacts the frequency.

The communication about my grandmother's condition and needs has lacked, especially with turnover. However, the care for her has been good.

Great staff, caring and passionate. Could've been better if they were fully staffed and actually took time to make sure the patients are actually taking their medications. But other than that, it was good overall. They are super nice. But they are extremely understaffed. There was numerous times we couldn't get in the house she was in because nobody was in the house to open the door that was authorized to do so. And they do not watch the residents take their medications to make sure they actually take them.

Most of the staff do a good job, especially the weekday staff. The weekend staff seems to fluctuate and is not always as good. The director is very responsive. Food- they frequently do not have the food supplies to make the meals listed on their menu. And the staff making the meals, depending on the person, don't want to take the time needed to make a good healthy meal. The same two staff working that day do all jobs in the house, including making meals. Activities- they seem to have several activities going on during the month. The property has 6 different houses and the activities take place in various houses. It can be difficult for residents to get to the activity in another house and takes a lot of coordination to have a staff member get them to another house.

Everyone was very friendly and supportive. Administration was a bit slow responding to some questions, but super fast on others. Would definitely recommend the facility.

Very nice place, staff is great a little pricey for anyone who is confined to a bed and unable to participate in activities and the staff is very short handed on the weekends especially Sunday. Overall the staff has been very thoughtful and helpful. I would recommend this place

Recently moved Mom into the Memory Care House at Mustang Creek. From our first initial meeting the staff went above and beyond to help get her placed and were genuinely interested in her well being. From the minute we pulled up to move her in, staff came out to greet her and help get her out of the car and settled inside. Mom did not do well at her previous facility but I feel like with the house like setting and smaller numbers of residents, Mom gets the care she needs. All the staff I have met are extremely sweet and friendly. I have been very pleased with Dr. office they contract with as well. the Pharmacy. It's a big relief to see Mom thriving, more stable and smiling again.

I liked that it was a small setting, not a lot of people in one house and home cooked meals. Considerate, caring, attentive staff. Facility is good. Seems to be kept up fairly well.

The feedback is that they took good care of mom for the most part. When they lost their director, there was some shakiness. But that happens with all transitions of power. They were good people. Lost a lot of great people with turnover. When we brought mom home, there was definitely something weird going on with the clothes. It's like she had multiple people's clothes and not her own hanging in the closets. Other than that, they were great, and they loved mom. That is the most important part.

Location is inviting and homelike. Much better than a hospital or nursing home. More quiet/peaceful. Workers have compassion and are very kind hearted to the residents.

Great staff at the visit and during the sign up process. Not so clean some days. More than once his bed sheets were soiled and dried. Meaning they had been soiled for a while. Weekly room cleaning didn't seem to happen regularly. Staff was always cordial and friendly and answered all our questions. As it happened our resident was there only a month before passing away. I do think the staff tried to engage in activities and make him feel at home. However he wasn't interested. Our resident felt that he was not getting enough to eat. And when he asked for more he said the amount offered was not much. We had specifically asked that they give him as much as he would eat because he had lost too much weight during an illness. It was very expensive. We chose Mustang Creek Estates in Sachse because I had a friend who was well cared for at Mustang Creek Allen. I was impressed with the staff and their care for her. But chose Sachse over Allen due to proximity to a family member. I thought company culture and training would be similar at both facilities but I was wrong.

Small campus footprint and intimate house setting with a covered porch has been ideal for our mom. Mustang's AL houses are best for loved ones who require minimal oversight and non-certified staff. They could improve on the food by having less repetitive meals and more variety of main courses and vegetables.

We moved dad into assisted living when he got out of rehab. He was very hesitant at first but with the excellent care he received his overall health and strength has improved. The staff in Building E has been exceptional and they take such good care of him. 3 meals a day, help with meds, housekeeping and checking on him have proven to be the help he needed to regain some independence.

It's is good but not great. There are good aides that work there and some that are a little lazy. Overall, my mom says the food is good and enjoys the community activities.

I would like to see them get our loved one in the shower more often, but it is difficult for her situation. However, overall it is a good value, the staff is nice and I would recommend them to other families who may need a place for their loved ones.

The house workers are friendly but the employees were not considerate of all the clients' wishes/beliefs/needs. Home cooking does not mean half cooked, raw, doughy, dry. Since when is extremely loud and obnoxious music appropriate for elderly or dementia patients. It is a nice place for someone who needs supervision and companionship. Be aware of improper handling of meds. Listen to your loved ones.
