Mustang Creek Estates

Overall 4 stars. Food: doesn't sound very nutritious. Lots of carbs: cheap white bread, a lot of noodles/pasta. Staff care is OK. They don't seem very well trained. Example, one of the helpers was bandaging my mom's arm after she had scraped it. The girl put bandages directly on the skin of a 96 year old with very thin skin. as you can imagine pulling the Band-Aids/tape off was excruciating, and it was a large area. However, most of the staff seems friendly and kind. The place smells decent so they must clean it fairly well. My mom seems to enjoy the activities. And she seems to be getting the care she needs. The small group environment had been a blessing for mom. I think she would've been overwhelmed in a larger facility.

Having smaller houses with a fixed staff is nice and you get real close to the staff and residents. Ms. Summer is an excellent house manager and goes way beyond any reasonable expectation and she is an excellent cook as well. Some younger staff members have good care skills and may learn to be better cooks with time The smaller house sizes do really well at catering for a residents needed care level. Just be aware over time ones care level does change and that can require a move to a different house but still the move cost is trivial

I’d say they should take the time to visit communities and interact with the people there, do their research about payment options, and make sure they can afford things in the long run before selecting a place. MC has been a good fit for my MIL.

I would say it is a nice facility but very costly; as are most. Care staff come and go before I learn their names but a few are still in place longer. The facility appears clean. My husband says the food is bad, but he eats it. I have sampled different things on his plate and it tastes fine to me. All of this i hear about other facilities too, so it seems to be a commonality My husband needs help with everything and I do see care staff tending to his needs when I'm there anyway. Other residents appear to be clean and well tended to. It is troublesome to connect with PA or other medical folks. Especially in person. Or receive a return call. Am generally satisfied with the home and the care but for the financial aspect.

The providers do an excellent job with Care. The patrons always look well care for.

Staff is overall good during the week but would get a 3 on the weekends...staff is more young guys on the weekends & holidays, often sitting around on their phones instead of interacting with the residents. The facility is good and overall clean. It lacks nice outdoor spaces in most of the houses. Most do have small porches w some seating. Activities are good but the resident has to be open or in the mood to do it...wish they pushed them to participate a little more...

All the staff are friendly and helpful. I don't like that they don't have more activities or an event coordinator.

The staff is helpful, it's very clean, I like the fact that the kitchen is open so you can see what they're making

Mustang Creek Estates in Frisco provides a safe haven for your loved ones. Rather than one big facility, it is divided into family-like cottages where residents are grouped in accordance to their needs and abilities. The staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are adequately sized and the cottages are kept clean and inviting. I especially liked the all inclusive pricing for each level of care. You aren't blindsided with multiple fees that can dramatically increase the monthly cost.

My mom was there at the keller location it was a bumpy road she passed away last year.Me and my sister was talking the other day and i wanted to take the time out to say there is a Supervisor there name [Name Removed]she was heaven sent she made my mother comfortable after [Name Removed] went back to Africa [Name Removed] was all my mom depend and felt comfortable with she knows how to really show her concern. Her care needs and her love for the residence there I just want to thank Mustang Creek for that and if anybody read these reviews, the role was bumpy, but it got better, even though my mother passed on. She passed along with love, and there was people there that loved her but for [Name Removed], we just wanna thank you for your kindness cause you made it possible for our mom. Thank you.

Administration staff has been very helpful. Information from the caregiver staff is not very good. Lack of stimulating activities seem nonexistent in his building. I have never seen any posted activities being completed. Very important that he is very happy with the staff and his surroundings.

They sent there nurse 40+ miles to my house to do the evaluation. I will move closer in a few months. They handled the recent iced situation pretty well I thought.

The staff was very nice and I truly believe they cared a great deal for my mom however mom was on a no salt diet and I don’t think they were equipped to follow that type of diet. During her short stay there they were having staffing issues so there was no activity director as well as no TV in the living areas for most of her stay. If they take care of a few things I believe they could be a great option in the Frisco area

What we like the most about Mustang Creek is that the facility is like a house with 14 private bedrooms/bathrooms. The closeness of the care givers in the one house so they get to know each resident personally. The administration is very accessible to each resident and their family members.

It's a tie, the staff facility are both a 10! Yes, we would recommend Mustang Creek Estates Flower Mound to other families based on the experience so far.

While you never want to be away from your loved one, the house manager and most of the staff are loving and competent. The food is homemade and the environment is inviting. The rooms are a bit small and cleanliness could be better.

I would say that the facility is always clean and is bright. It doesn't feel like a facility and has a homey feel. The staff at times aren't the best, but the house managers are wonderful. She is always clean, dressed, and up when I visit. She cannot move by herself so she has to rely on staff to move her from the bed to her chair. It's definitely the best place we could find based on her price point. I was frustrated that they raised rates almost [fee removed] dollars a month after she moved in. But it still feels like the best priced option for her given her needs. She recently had family come to see her and they were very pleased with the appearance of the facility and the staff caring for her. So that was nice to have another opinion.

Admin team is very cheerful and helpful. Quick to respond to issues. Quite understanding that all seniors are not in the same place mentally and that aging gracefully without having to go to mental care is an option. I like the "all in" cost structure where all care and services are combined into monthly rent. Many places "nickel and dime" you to death. Apartments are really nice size and orientation for comfortable living space and feeling of some independence. Central kitchen and dining area in each building creates homey feel, which is nice. Just wish they had more activities to keep residents active.

Very clean and 90% of staff is nice. The room is a little small but the bathroom is roomy. They have not really been great about explaining everything. There are activities at one of the houses daily but not every house. They don't move people house to house like they say they will. Overall a good place. The staff that is good are the best. I could not ask for someone more caring.
