This place is very elegant but it was way too big and way too expensive. It was really nice though. Everyone was very nice that I met there.

My mom seems to love every part of it except for the orientation. That was not good. I was told that as soon as she came there she would receive a tour and there was a painting club - that was one of the main draws of Bonaventure. She wanted to meet them and be a part of that. About a week and a half into her being there she still had not had any kind of a tour and she still hasn't had the opportunity to meet with the ladies about the painting and she's been there a month now. Everything else she's really been pleased with. They've gone out of their way to help her. She's only getting one meal a day but the meals that she gets, lunch, she really likes. They giver her so much food that she takes some of it back to her room for the next meal.

My husband stayed there for a respite stay and it went well I think. It was kind of hard to tell because I wasn't there. Everything was nice and clean and the food looked really good. I had two of his family members came to see him while I was gone and they thought it was a little cold, not temperature wise but less friendly that some other places. Perhaps they're just used to something different. I was a little disappointed when we got there because the room that he was to go into was not the room they told me it would be and they didn't have it set up. They had to bring in new furniture and I had to stay at Bonaventure for an hour longer and ended up missing the rehersal dinner. Also when I called to speak to him they seemed a little taken aback and acted like it was an imposition.

$2680-3690 Shared room. Common area supplies furniture. $3800 Studio apartments wait list. $200 a day restbut care. 3 meals a day. Basic care $400, level 1 $950. Move in 2500, pet 750. Wide hallways with rails.

Toured Morning Star on So. Kipling. Liked the layout of the facility, but noted some of the residents just sitting alone and not interacting. Staff seemed helpful and kept area clean. May want to do a follow-up visit to assess further.

The size of the community is great, and I like that. The staff gets to know the family. It is easy to talk to the staff about questions or concerns; however, it doesn't always result in action. It is a very pleasant place to have a loved one. The care could be improved upon with hygiene assistance and housekeeping of the rooms for the residents. There have been some staff turnover recently, and the community is trying to hire more staff to assist in doing the right things for the residents and the community.

Our family had an in person tour and MorningStar being newer is a very nice and pretty community with plenty of good amenities. However, at the time of our tour they had a huge plumbing issue, there was a vent clogged and immediately there was just a big fowl odor.

The biggest thing to me is the staffing ratio of caregivers to residents. They're short on staff most of the time. I know they have resident vacancies, but they still need more appropriate staffing levels to care for the residents who are there. Also, they don't have a nurse there working every day, only five days a week, which concerns me a little bit.

We chose MorningStar Memory Care at Bear Creek because they were the closest to where I lived and they came with a high rating. They were very good with communication, they had a newsletter to keep families updated and were responsive and always tried to keep us connected with my loved one. I thought they were way overwhelmed with our needs and they did not keep very good control of laundry, some things were missing. Overall, I would recommend to others looking.

Our staff has been relentless in keeping us safe and healthy during this Covid crisis. They have been amazing, all the while maintaining our community.

The office staff is very helpful and very nice. The care giving staff is not that good. Some of the staff do not speak English. It is hard for my mom to communicate with them.My mom is not happy with the food, and the staff is not offering her the other options if she can not eat the main offering. They have a nice courtyard. They have good activities, cards, games, and puzzles. The caregivers are not always wearing the masks when they come to her room she has to ask them to put one on. My mom has asked for a shower chair or to help since the seat they have is not working for her and they have not been helpful. They have done a good job with the Covid virus. They are a newer property so maybe theses are growing pains

We had toured this community and it was very nice. However, the property was not as close to moms doctors offices and the hospital that we would have liked. The price was out of our budget range. However, the community was very clean and well kept and the staff seemed to be friendly and kind.

Clean facility (odor free) except the smell of good food being prepared by Chef [Removed]. The staff is friendly and appears to enjoy what they do. Residents report they are happy and can be found participating in activities and smiling.

I would suggest families would think long and hard about placing a loved one in a home, unless the person has become a risk, ie falling, etc. I found in the 10 months my Mom was there she didn't do anything to help herself get "better" ,and the staff could not force her.

The food is amazing. The cleanliness of the facility is amazing. It's a beautiful facility. The staff is very friendly. However, getting everything set app like the medications and just a lot of things didn't go as smoothly. As I would have liked, the turn over there is ridiculous. You get a relationship with somebody and then they're gone other than that. It's a good place. Overall, it's a good place which is just a few things they need to work on.

I like that it is close to my house. They could improve on innumerable things - I have many frustrations. I just don't know that I would find better care that is reasonably affordable.

Thought it was the one and she would want to stay there but apparently not

They were nice but very pricey. The move from Morningstar to the new memory care facility was not easy. They made it very difficult

I fell like this is an average facility. Despite letting them know she was a fall risk, she fell 3 times in 2 weeks and when we picked her up she could no longer stand or walk on her own(with or without a walker) both legs were swollen as well as her hand and she had 2 skin tears along with back pain. I realize that constant attention is not possible due to staffing at facilities in general but I feel like we were led to expect a little more presence to minimize falling.
