MorningStar Senior Living

As a Hospice RN I was fortunate to have been assigned to Merrill Gardens Memory Care Facility from 2019 through 2021. My job was to provide symptom management, and comfort focused care to residents at EOL, in collaboration with the wonderful staff in Memory care. The facility director, Med techs, care givers, and ancillary staff are a dedicated group who treat residents with dignity, respect, and with highest level of compassion. I wouldn’t hesitate to entrust one of my loved ones to their care, knowing they would be in the best of hands.

We love MorningStar at Silver Lake. We looked at about 10 different places and chose Morningstar because everything just clicked right away. They were nice and friendly and we just felt the most comfortable after visiting here. They have a lot of activities provided for the residents, though my dad does not always participate. I would tell others to go with your gut, go visit in the morning and evening and you get the feel for the staff at different times. If you have a good feeling at both times, then it is probably the right choice. The facility is beautiful and does not feel institutional at all, it feels more like an apartment complex. They also take great care of the grounds and take pride in that. One thing I would let others know is that if you have an electric car, they do not have the charging ports for those just yet but we brought this up to them. I would absolutely recommend this facility to other families.

The people so nice, and were helpful with anything that I needed Overall, it's a good safe place, and I feel comfortable having my loved one there.

My mom was really disoriented when she first came from my dads passing. I looked at a lot of different places and when I walked into Morningstar it was very lively and they had music playing. There were a lot of residents around and people were socializing and playing games. [name removed] the executive director is amazing. The residents are very inclusive and they do not like to see anyone by themselves, they are very welcoming to new residents and help them find their way around. It has been an amazing experience and we would definitely recommend MorningStar Arcadia, my mom is thriving.

Morningstar is a true 5 star experience, adventure, and a well designed building with exciting amenities! An amazing and very professional staff that is always available and willing to assist in any situation!

From the moment I walked in the door to take a look immediately I was impressed by the welcome, by the sincerity, and by the people in general. Morningstar is not just a place for someone to come for aging, it feels close to a welcoming home with open arms, the staff and residents do an amazing job creating that atmosphere!

The staff and residents are very caring here. We have wonderful activities, [Name removed] and [name removed] do an amazing job making sure we all are having fun and enjoying ourselves! The food really sealed the deal on me moving in and my stomach couldn’t be more impressed with it!

I felt loved from the minute I walked in the door of Morningstar. Living here I feel safe and secure. I didn’t expect to make so many new friends! There’s plenty of activities to keep me entertained and active! The food is absolutely amazing and presented beautifully. This is a little piece of heaven on this side of earth!

Our family had an in person tour and we were able to tour the memory care side and assisted living and both were really nice

My mom was in the early stages of dementia when my father passed away. We needed to get her into an assisted living facility. I visited several facilities and chose Morning Star Senior Living. After about a year, as her dementia worsened, we had to move her to the memory care unit. All the staff I came in contact with were just so kind and caring and kept me posted as to Moms condition. I felt Mom received wonderful care while in assisted living and then memory care. Any concerns were taken care of immediately. I never had to worry if Mom was being properly cared for.

So far MorningStar of Beaverton has been great and we have had a really good experience.

My wife, dog, and I have lived here for the last two months. We are extremely happy and greatful to be living here. The staff is very open to suggestions for outings, friendly, and helpful. The say that we are family and treat us better than family. We both hope to stay here the rest of our lives.

Major Change In Life? MorningStar makes it easier!

I would give Morning Star 5 on everything. They have been wonderful working with. I had excellent help with finding several places to visit. I couldn't have done it without the advice of my councilor.

Morning Star was in my top 5, but when it got down to the dollars and cents a lot of undiscussed amenities made their way into the total rent. Too expensive.

I think Balfour is a fabulous community and allows both of my parents to receive the different levels of support they need while still getting to be with each other each day. It is a beautiful facility that is pleasant to be in and I think the staff truly care about the residents and their well-being.

It was awesome a very beautiful place, it was like a 5 star hotel. It was the best out of all that we had seen overall. The room was very nice that she was in, she has passed now but she had a great experience in her time there.

On a scale of 1 to 5 each category they earned a five. We were very pleased with this facility. The activity Director for the memory care was fantastic and would send me weekly emails with photos of my mother doing various activities which was so helpful. We moved a few months before we went back to Vegas to get her so the photos meant a lot to me. The facility was always clean and bright and I love the circular architectural style of the memory care cottage as opposed to a dark hallway that I saw in other facilities for their memory care.

My Mom who has lived here for four years. Her apartment is lovely and she is well looked after. They have recently been renovating right now and the changes are elegant. It looks so nice like a 5!star hotel. But the community is so much more than that. The vibe here is respectful and thoughtful. [name removed] the executive director is approachable and hands on seeing to all aspects of life for the residents and staff. [name removed] walks his talk. Everyone who works here is patient and kind to the residents and families and each other.
