I had a bad experience here. I feel a great deal of pity of the elderly people that feel trapped here. The food is bad, cold for the most part, and amateur cooks. The building was cold all winter long, it seemed the dining room and hallways felt like they had no heat. I had to wear additional layers and this made it more uncomfortable to be in the community. If we would complain about the heat, the staff would say this was because of the heat in the resident's rooms. I wasn't able to leave the community due to the pandemic. My insurance has been messed up due to this community.

This facility was obviously older and not in great condition everywhere. They did not provide as many services, like regular trips to the grocery, as the other places we toured.

Tour guide was unprepared and as head of nursing was not professional - very messy office, didn’t know number of openings in one area, said math is hard for her. Snacks for patients was a few donuts in a bag. Activities highlighted was 2-3 magazines on a table. Sounds like there is high turnover in some positions.

Major staffing turnovers. Food is neither heart or G.I. healthy. . Just last week they had pizza, polish sausage and sandwiches for dinner. Alternatives are hot dog, hamburger or chicken if they had it. Blood pressure monitored with machine wrist cuff. Director is wonderful but overworked. No working transportation go facilities.

[Name removed] was very friendly but the facility looked old and she said it was due for remodeling this next spring. The activities room was very small There is a lot of light in the rooms but the general areas seemed dated

This has been the least pricey and I can't see [Removed] living here. Building is older and memory care is somewhat new to this center. Not what we are looking for.

I did not even go for a tour of this community. I walked in and right away noticed some cleanliness issues. It was a brief visit but I knew this was not a good fit for my mother.

Saw the difference between assisted living and independent living. Deb very helpful.It sits next to a cemetery.

I am still waiting for a refund check and it has been 60 plus days since his date of death for a refund check to settle his estate. No records are kept on response calls; so I question the validity of having those in the small cottages on the grounds.

Your first hand experiences really help others. Thanks! At first we loved this place. They have a huge turnover in employees...wonder why...? Maybe Corporate?? Mom also loved it until recently. She became ill and was sent to the hospital. She then went to a Skilled Unit. When she was ready to be released, the Skilled Facility felt she was ready to go back home. Mom was so excited and that is all she wanted. She called Chaucer home and enjoyed the residents and most of the nurses. When the Director of Nursing came with a Nurse to conduct the care assessment, everything was turned upside down. My Mom's nursing care level had not changed. The nurse from the Skilled Unit also sat in the interview. The Nurse from Chaucer that was familiar with my Mom's care said many times that the care she needs is still the same. This is a new Director of Nursing who came with the Nurse familiar with my Mom's care. Nothing had changed. Yet, Chaucer would not let her come back. The D.O.N. said that it was because she could not walk to the dining room. There are many there who do not walk to the dining room. Then it was because they had no RN in the evenings. How can you operate without an RN in the evenings??? There are many there who need a lot of care. I have seen it. I think this was an injustice to my Mom. Now, my Mom has stated she wants to die. Thank you Chaucer for taking away the only thing my Mom wanted and making her so sad!! Oh and by the way...My Mom is in a different Assisted Living now so Chaucer...you were wrong. My Mother does not need a Nursing Home!! Be careful in selecting this Assisted Living Facility. They do not know what they are doing.

The initial visits everyone seems so nice and caring., but once your there you are forgotten. If you can't get out of bed on your own, don't go there. They don't know how to help troubled residents. There billing department I give and F . Paid them first of August have ask for invoice 4 times have yet to get one. Once your in also impossible to get return calls. Poor management.

Would not recommend to anyone. My father was way overmedicated so they wouldn't have to bother with him. We placed him in a different facility and they discontinued 75% of his meds and he was totally different person.

I strongly suggest people stay away from this facility, [name removed] who runs this establishment is a spiteful woman who will throw your loved ones out without any warning (but they make sure they get their money first) it's so poorly ran staff leave due to hostile work environment and the residents suffer by not having any activity time or not even allowed to go to the courtyard. This facility also has misrepresented itself as a memory care through all stages of dementia. If you truly love your family member do not put them in this place.

Being told transportation to church was no problem as long as it was within a 5 miles radius helped me decide to move into Avenue 81. After the move, however, I was told transportation was not provided on Sundays. This is a very egregious offense.

My loved one was previously a resident at Homestead of Kingfisher and the whole experience for her at this facility was terrible. On most days, there was no administration to be found. The food was TERRIBLE. There is no medication control. I would not recommend Homestead of Kingfisher to friends and family.

A new corporation recently took over the management of this facility. They do have a FEW direct care workers that are kind and knowledgeable workers. The facility is so poorly managed that the great workers they have seek positions elsewhere because they cannot survive in this hostile atmosphere. As a family member be prepared to advocate for your loved ones and do some of the personal cares yourself. They do not have enough staff and weekends there are even worse. It is no lie for me to say that I have witnessed times when your loved one does not have staff available to care for them in a timely manner. The food there is of poor quality and often times very small portions are provided. The facility is kept clean. I have witnessed overnight staff that sleeps while on duty and management does nothing about this when they are informed. Some of the workers are capable of swearing at the residents and are as rude as can be to family members that have questions. I would not advise placement

if it doesn't bother you that your loved one stays in the same clothes for days at a time, is allowed to sleep all day and night, isn't bathed for at least the same amount if time spent in the same clothes, fed food burnt beyond recognition, all the while surrounded by the rudest collection of people possible to assemble under one roof, this place is for you!!!!! the difference between the memory side and the assisted living side is a locked door, which is complimentary. missing trim, cobwebs, chipped paint is also included at no extra charge!!

Their patient care, nursing and Drs. Now that I look back I wish they would of offered 24 hour nursing care. I would of paid extra to get it but didn't realize that is what we needed until it was to late. We needed better patient care. I want to add that [name removed] was definitely a asset to the community. She had quit about halfway through our stay there. We were lost without her. Not safe for dementia patients. Not enough qualified staff for addequate care. My LO doesn't get regular showers. Food is no better and maybe worse than an elemtary school.

This community was just very dark and depressing not the environment we were looking for for our loved one.
