We've been very pleased with the care provided here. The staff in particular have been outstanding, they've been amazingly friendly, and very professional and caring. It's a very nice looking place, and they keep it well kept up. I feel like my loved one is being well looked after.

Rated not on cost but the facility itself. No strong salesmanship that I received elsewhere.

My 93 year old Mother has been here for a little over a month, and she loves it. The food. The people. The staff. The living! We're very pleased.

My mother unlawful tells me each time we visit how nice the people are. We have found them very responsive to any need we have had.

I was pretty much ready to make a decision on another facility when I found Chaucer on the Place for Mom website. I toured the facility and loved it so much!! This is the place we (me & my siblings) for our mother. She has lived there since May. I have to say I love this facility so much!! It is clean, large rooms, and the nurses are fabulous! They always return my phone calls, everyone down to the kitchen help are very pleasant. It is obviously a good place to work, because I have yet to find anyone who is having a bad day or doesn't like their job. The assistants and nurses have been very helpful to my mom. I just can't say enough about just how much I love this facility!!

We loved this place. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. The director, Colette was a real warm, caring woman. My mom fell in love with her immediately. This is a smaller , intimate assisted living place. Talked to several residents who had only good things to say about all aspects of their home. We all agreed that this was a good place for our Mom.

I chose this community for my mom because we were very impressed with the friendlyness of the staff. The community gave her a studio apartment in which she was able to move her own furnisher into. I showed up to visit my mom during lunch time and the staff did not hesitate to offer us to have lunch with my mom. It was really nice because it was not a preplanned event. The community has a strip mall to one side an some apartments to the other. Right behind the community there is a County Park which has some wild turkeys, geese and deer roaming around. Sometimes they get close enough to the community that you can really see them. They really put me at ease with the medication my mom is taking. They ensure she is taking it and are really helpful. The staff is open to suggestions and do their best to adjust. They communicate very effectively and they involve me in the care of my mother.

I liked this facility. Clean facilities, staff was nice and plesant. Price appears to be manageable. Only concern is whether dad's memory issue(aggression) is suitable for this community. Really like the location.

We don't have a move in date, as my mom has to fill out medicaid papers for Kansas and that takes time.

Best in town. Excellent facility, excellent tour, thank you. "Mom" was confused by other family information and somewhat by the tour. She has decided that the Fairways is not for her, mainly because it is expensive. She is getting along well at home.

Everything is going well for us at Homestead of Owasso. The manager [name removed] is extremely helpful - she has helped me out with with everything that I have needed so far and I appreciate that. Overall we have been very pleased with our experience thus far and would recommend the facility to other families.

The people here are all very friendly my mothers seems to have made an adequate adjustment to living here - she likes it. She said she is comfortable and that it does somewhat feel like home which is big because sometimes people never feel that way. I do think they could have slowed her process down so she was a little more steady on her feet. Overall it has been a pretty good experience for us so far.

The residents here are very friendly and they do have a lot of activities going on. The price and availability worked out for us. For this area it is reasonable and its an all inclusive price which they tailor the care to the residents and do not charge extra. We would absolutely recommend this community to others.

It's very welcoming. There are a lot of friendly people, even for somebody who is moving from far away. There are a lot of activities, and the apartments are very nice. I like the layout and the fact that she has a full kitchen even if she doesn't use it. The bedroom is large, and they were willing to work with me on the location in the facility so she would have a view that would make her happy. They do what they say they'll do. My mom loves it here. Her only complaint is she says it Midwest food, with not enough protein and too many carbohydrates.

We have done mostly window visits but we have seen a couple of rooms and it is very clean. Overall we do think the food is fine, they have tried their best to accommodating to everyone's dietary wants and needs. With the activities they have done a pretty good job given the past year, and the activities coordinator has done special events like for Veterans Day. She also is more then willing to set up zoom calls for our loved one. Compared to the other communities we looked at, the value for cost here is pretty good.

We chose Chaucer Estates because of the affordability and the community is all one level, there are no stairs or elevators which was something we were looking for. For independent living, they have little foreplexes as well. I would absolutely recommend to others looking.

My mom has been there since 2012. We really liked that it was a small community and had a warm family feel. Although through the years there have definitely been issues. There has been a lot of turnover, the cleanliness of the place was not up to par. Laundry was an issue, as well as the food! All of the staff we loved quit and several residents moved. We hung in there because my mom likes it there and every place has issues. True, some more than others but what is different about Homestead is they were aware of the many issues and trying to fix them. Recently, we got a new LOCAL Regional Vice President. And she is very experienced and involved. We have formed a family council and she has been at our meetings. Which is not the case with other facilities. I have to also say that she has gotten more done than anyone has in the last few years! It is wonderful. She has brought back several wonderful past employees. And has hired a new chef. They are working on the menu to include several items to choose from. Fresh soup of the day, not canned! A waffle station as well as an omelet station. And in the spring, renovations should begin to bring the facility up to date. We are finally moving in the right direction! I certainly would not rule this place out for your loved one. The one thing I can give 5 stars to, is the activities director!! Wow, is she wonderful. The facility has a new van and they go on several outings, lunch bunch and more. Lots of activities! I still believe that Homestead will be the best it ever has been and there will be a waiting list to get in.

I've visted my dad at Homestead on three occasions and eaten the meals twice. Everything about the place is perfect for my dad. He is mobile but has some limitations and the staff are very considerate of his condition. From my observation, I believe the director and all employees at Homestead like their jobs and are there to cheerfully assist the residents.

My mom moved in on [date removed] and there was an adjustment period. There is a range of ages, which is why she chose the place, and it met all of the requirements of our family as far as activities and security, also in a very nice area. Mom went to exercise class every day, and they do call to remind you to come to meals. My mother complained that the new director shortened the exercise routine and it seemed like she liked to plan activities out of the facility, giving those home bound less activities. I do feel that patients with dementia are given too much leeway with the patient's rights. We had trouble with the morning staff putting on her support hose and the "dementia diet" of sandwiches, hamburgers and french fries was often the meal when a meal of meat and vegetables was offered. My mom would choose whatever she saw, and it took forever to convince them that she would eat the meal given to her. They finally started asking her if she would like the healthy meal instead of the junk food. [Name removed] was great with my mom, making sure that she always had her supplements and we never had a problem with medication during any of the shifts, (as far as I know). The director is good at working with the family, as well as the nursing staff. [Name removed] was my mom's favorite nurse. There was a problem with weekend staffing and personal care duties, taking out resident's trash, and proper meals were sometimes a problem at those times. This presented a cleanliness problem for those with incontinence. I have to say that the nursing staff is excellent, with [name removed] saving my mother's life. All of the nurses have been with Vintage Park for a minimum of two years. My mother had a major stroke and the evening nurse called me right after she called the ambulance. Because [name removed] checked on my mom early in the evening she caught the stroke right away and the TPA was administered at St Luke's South and the clot was dissolved before she reached St Luke's Plaza. I believe that interviewing the employees, director and random residents as you tour the facility is key to finding a good placement. I also believe that I wouldn't have been able to find a place for my mom as soon as I did without the help of [name removed] from A Place For Mom.

Lots of contacts. Was looking for independent living with access to memory care. We didn't want a progressive retirement center. We are retired military so we wanted close to military facilities. Quiet area but easy access to entertainment, shopping and the airport. Moving from a rural area to the city without actually being in the downtown area was what we wanted and what we found. Very reasonable price was a must. Found what I wanted in one week.
