Merrill Gardens

I liked this community. The proximity wasn't close to my home. I have heard great things about Merrill Gardens. The facility was nice.

They were very flexible with my parents changing needs and they were great during the hurricane

Merrill Gardens had a bright memory care unit, but little outdoor space and would not consider assisted living for an individual with any level of dementia diagnosis. Regardless of level of functioning and ability to do ADLs independently. It was a nice place, but just ultimately not the right fit for what we were searching for.

We picked this community because of the cost and location. The food and snacks available to the residents, needs to improve.

This is one of the nicest and cleanest communities we have found. They have decorated the community nicely for the demographic they are serving. The staff communication with the family is lacking a bit. The billing department needs to be better for internal communication and with the family. There are three meals a day served to the residents, along with snacks. There are several choices for the residents to choose from.

My loved one likes the food. They have an activities room, and they have Bingo/crossword puzzles. I feel like we are, paying money for things, and not getting a lot of things done. We picked this community because, the admissions girl was super nice, and everyone seemed to be happy. They need more staff. My advice to other families is to ask questions.

My dad seems to be happy there for the most part. The food is pretty good. The staff are really friendly and attentive. The facility is always very clean, and the décor is nice.

Our family had an in person tour and the tour experience was just fine and it was certainly a top contender, but the community was just to far away and it was little bigger then what we were looking for.

My loved one received, very good care in the memory unit at Truewood. We picked this place because, of the availability at the time and knowing my loved ones dementia would warrant memory care eventually...which came sooner than anticipated

Th cleanliness is good. The grounds, and landscaping is not that great. They do have activities that people go to, we have not participated. It's too expensive. I picked this place because of, the people and friendliness-, and the staff is pretty nice.

My loved one is not really pleased with the food, but they hired a new chef, so hopefully the food improves. It's a quiet community, and the staff seems to be dilligent about the residents. ALso, the staff is easy to talk to. I picked thei community because of the location, and affordable price.

We toured because we have another family who lives here and find it to be a fine facility. They have a hard time with staffing, but the facility is great and the people running it are nice. However, after speaking with their memory care folks, we left with a few doubts. They didn't seem to be excited about taking my father with some of his issues.

We absolutely loved Truewood. It's a very nice place that is well maintained. The staff is very pleasant. We had no problems. My parents actually had an opportunity to socialize in the dining room and outside with others, which was good for them.

The facility itself was great, we really liked what we saw. We wanted to go here and totally would have but the sales guy that we were speaking with was kind of creepy and just gave us a weird vibe which is why we went with another facility.

Our first impression was just that the community is clean - the office people really did a good job showing us around the place, they talked to us about everything that was included. They indicated different discounts for us to sign up for. They have a really good restaurant there and we have just been impressed since the first day.

I am very well satisfied with Merrill Gardens. There are always things that are not as you would like them to be wherever you go, but I am very pleased with my experience. As a new residents coming in it would be great if there were a list of things that you should know, just general every day things. I think that would be really helpful. In comparison to other places I have had experience with, I would definitely recommend this community to others.

Nice place to live if you don't want to cook regularly and need some help with cleaning and laundry as well as meeting people in the similar age group. My husband stayed there for only over a month, while I stayed for two months. He needed to get some special treatment for his back pain, therefore he moved into another facility. The manager of Merrill Gardens understood his situation and waved an additional person's monthly fee, which we appreciated it very much. Over all, we had a good experience with the staff and the environment.
