Merrill Gardens

Our tour at Truewood Georgetown was really nice. We enjoyed the staff. They were very friendly and professional and did a great job showing the pros and cons of their facility. The biggest factor in our decision was proximity to my house, and we went with another place that was only a few minutes away.

We chose Murano Senior Living because the value is incredible, administrative staff is super friendly, and it is very clean. I think everyone is having a hard time finding quality caregivers, but they are really working on it. Overall the experience has been great and they are willing to listen and are actively trying to improve.

Our family had only had about a month experience so far with Truewood because everything is going great so far. The care services got a 3 out of 5 for now because sometimes when our loved one presses their call light during the night the staff either take a long time to respond or don't respond at all. The meals and dining service according to her were very good in the beginning weeks but now are a little too salty. She did start participating in the balloon volleyball and we do think the activities there are appropriate and adequate for the level of residents they have. The value for cost is very good. Truewood has a small homey community feeling to it.

The only complaint we have had is the air conditioning units in the rooms are very loud. Overall mom is happy, she really likes the other residents and she has made lots of friends. For the most part the food is good, if she does not like what they are serving that day they are able to make her something else. The staff members are all very friendly and the nurse practitioners have all been great. The building is older, but it is well maintained. You cannot beat the price here, we looked at some others and this was definitely the best value for the money. I would definitely recommend them to others who are looking and already have.

They are very friendly here. My loved one is in the Alzheimer unit and he is doing so well that they let him come out and everyone loves when he comes out to interact. My loved one is independent besides his memory. My other loved one is close by and he gets to leave and go have lunch and other things to stay active. My loved one likes to play bingo and balloon volleyball also. The staff always call him by name and speak with him all the time.

We were able to have an in person tour and our experience was very good with the Standiford Place.

Merrill Gardens is having a hard time keeping a steady staff team like we assume a lot of other communities are struggling with, but that has made the meals and dining service a little slower. However, the activities are exceptional, our loved one has so many opportunities to get involved. She loves playing bridge, other card games and bingo. Another huge deal for us is there "free shuttle" service that takes them to and from doctors appointments. Sometimes the residents may have to wait, but it was given us a huge relief and it i very convenient.

We chose Merrill Gardens because it was modern and bright, it is a dog friendly facility, and the overall atmosphere and the location as well for us. She has a very nice 1 room apartment that is large and spacious and she has a large patio off her apartment. The director and the community relations director are very personable and friendly. I would absolutely recommend them to others who are looking.

Overall our family has had a good experience, the people who work there are very friendly, and very accommodating. Our loved one physically is blind so he does need a little more care and they are very attentive to him, they make sure he received his medication on time. His room is kept very clean and the community itself is very clean. Our only minor complaint would be about the food, overall it is pretty good but they do not offer a big variety to choose from so the meals do get old.

We chose Willow Park because it had a separate entrance to the independent living section of the facility and they liked that. It is a nice size, it is fairly small so they have gotten to know all the others residents in the independent living portion. My step-dad he likes the food, if there is something he does not like he can request something specific that they can make. I would recommend to others looking.

I would tell others that this is a good community. They have pretty good food, but not always. The staff is serving to the residents.

My mother is a new resident at Merrill Gardens In Huntington Beach. She moved in [date removed] and it was the best move she could have made. The facility is amazing and the staff is top notch. The facility is spotless. My mother had to move to an assisted living in a hurry in [date removed] after a fall and the facility that I placed her in was such a disappointment. My mother’s mental health was deteriorating and I had to find her a new place to call home. I was so lucky to stumble upon Merrill Gardens. She is 93 but still active and pretty mentally sound. She was able to move into a beautiful 1 bedroom with a full kitchen so she can continue her favorite hobby of baking. This has made all the difference and she is happy again. It was hard for her to leave her home but having a full apartment instead of just a room helped with this transition. The staff is so attentive and kind. They treat her like a queen and she loves all the attention. This helps relieve my worries due to the fact that I cannot visit her on a regular basis due to COVID. [name removed], the Director, is always there if you need her. She kept in contact with me over my mother’s first few weeks there with updates on her. [name removed] is also great. [name removed] the activities director knows all the residents and encourages them to participate in activities and socializing. Thanksgiving has just passed and we decided it was best for her to stay at the facility to avoid exposure to COVID. She called me after her Thanksgiving dinner and was so happy. Merrill Gardens made a wonderful feast that even impressed my picky mother. It sounds like it was better than what I served in my home. I am truly thankful that I found Merrill Gardens. I can honestly recommend it if you are looking for a place for a family member.

My mother has lived at MG Renton for over 5 years. During that time she has transitioned from being fully independent to needing quite a bit of assistance with tasks of daily living. Throughout all the staff has been very caring and helpful. When things do come up, they are very responsive to my questions and concerns. It's a very welcoming place and I really feel that all the staff have the welfare of residents at the forefront of their approach.

We chose this facility because we really liked the staff here after visiting a few times and we liked the layout of the floors. We also liked that everything was so close, it is only a two story building. They also had an a lot of activities that the residents could partake in. The staff was really willing to get my mom involved in things. I would recommend this The Residence at Glen Riddle.

The staff are friendly and I've made great friends here. Because of the whole Civic 19. Just proved what a great place this is feeling safe .

My mom just love her new home. She loves the food. She loves the other residents. It is very cost-effective. The staff is very caring. They really focus on the needs of each individual resident. They could add more variety in the food choices.

my mom and dad moved in december 2018. the staff was attentive, the dining was excellent, the maintenance staff very attentive to all their needs, and the cleaning staff great with weekly maintenance. Yes, there are always issues with the elderly wanting what they are used to but Arbour Square and their staff have offered all reasonable options to accommodate all their needs. My dad and mom wanted to be alone but with all the activities, i.e., dining, exercise and movie theater, they were able to add some exercise and social interaction to their daily living.

The apartments are quite nice, I like my apartment very much. The food is fair, The building is nice. It is in a good location with nice walking area. They have a shuttle service which is a plus. They offer some activities to choose from like bingo, chapel services, card games, and they honor the holidays and birthday very nicely.

Friendly staff, always willing to help. Covid lockdown has made it difficult to keep in contact with the resident.

This brand new facility is gorgeous and well located near Concordville and Media. Every care has been taken to make the apartments and common areas as beautiful and comfortable as possible. Staff are very kind. Food is very high quality. Many pleasant amenities, diner, salon, theater, pub, game room, activities room, sewing room, library, outdoor terrace, coffee area, all first rate decor and quality. Cheerful and clean, luxury living. Fun for family members to visit. Being a brand new facility with a low number of residents, activities and transport services are still not very developed. Highly recommended for independent living, which is the only area I am familiar with.
