Merrill Gardens

This is virtually on the way to Atria Willow Glen, so trying to get there on the same trip! When I got there the Director was on vacation for another week, so someone else took me on the tour. Her assistant is very knowledgeable, love her to death -- really nice gal. If the price is right, this would definitely be a winner. The units have a full-size stove and refrigerator. People like to bake, she says, so why now, these people should be able to enjoy their retirement !! her words!

Very nice, new, opened just this year

My mom having been there for 30 days, at this time I would give them a 4.5. No place is perfect, but they have been great about addressing any issues or concerns that have come up. The facility is very clean, and all staff have been very courteous and friendly.

My parents love it at Merrill Gardens. There apartment is a one bedroom with a huge balcony. The people are so friendly and they have really fit in faster than expected. My dad plays chair volleyball 4 times per week. Both mom and dad get PT and OT several times a week. They also have their meds distributed to them daily. The food is great and the parties are always fun!! The last party was a Mardi Gras party. They are socializing more than they have in years. My brothers and I are thrilled and relieved!

Smaller and more homey than the larger facilities we looked at. Staff seem to be very caring and patient. The cost for memory care is all inclusive as opposed to paying rent and then additional care fees, which is nice. The overall and value i didn't give a full 5 because the rooms are quite small in the memory care unit.

We toured with Truewood by Merrill, Roseville and had a great experience. My son and I both really liked this facility a lot. It is strictly independent living, and the person we were helping thought that he was going to need a higher level of care than that. If we were going to choose independent living though, this facility definitely would have bene our first choice.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a good overall tour experience but location was very important to us so ultimately this community was not going to be suitable for our loved one.

It really was a very nice facility and wonderful welcoming staff on the tour experience.

This was most likely my second choice. It is a great community.

I like it here! When I got here, the people were so friendly and made me really want to be here. Overall both the staff and the residents are fantastic. Most of the time I spend in my apartment, but I enjoy going out in the mornings and making a circuit around the building and grounds. Everybody I run into is always saying hello and how are you and are just so kind.

I would highly recommend the community to others for the value and the care attentiveness. The Executive Director seems to be a little lax in getting back to requests from the family. My loved one enjoys the food. The community has activities for the residents to participate in, if they choose to.

I would definitely recommend Merrill Gardens at Madison. It's like a dorm, but for seniors. It's a very active community and that makes it different from other communities.

This was a nice community with a friendly atmosphere. The apartment wasn't on the first floor, like my loved one wanted.

We felt like Truewood was really good quality compared to the others in the community that we saw. The apartment is on the smaller side for us, but that is just because we are used to something bigger. There is a full kitchen that is on the smaller side, but you do not have to cook so we really don't have to use it much anyways. The washer and dryer is in the hallway. The courtyard in the back is absolutely beautiful and very accessible for everybody, we love to take walks there. Most of the staff is extremely pleasant and we have had no issues. I would definitely recommend this facility to others.

I enjoy the comradery of the people here that you do see, they are friendly and nice. I also really enjoy the activities.

Everyone I've come in contact with seems to be very friendly. the only complaint my loved one has made is about the meals. I'm unsure if they've changed the meal service, as far as who's cooking, but my loved one says its not the same as when she first moved in. she sometimes has to sit there for a while before her order is taken and the food is served. I'm, again, unsure how long it actually takes so I'm just speaking from her perspective. aside from that, I would recommend Bay Park to anyone who's looking for a community for their parent or loved one. my mom receives three meals a day and she has people there who make sure she's taking her medication. because of that, her health seems to be improving since she's on a consistent schedule. I'm glad to have my mom in a good place like this.

I highly recommend it. For me, its the location. We are close to my loved one. I like the appearance of it. This place feels like an apartment building. It has a good feel about it.

We chose Truewood by Merrill because of the cleanliness and the nice staff members. The facility itself is very nice and the location is great for me. The room sizes are good. She loved the food in the beginning but now she does complain a lot. They do provide a lot of activities provided and I wish my mom would get more involved and meet some more people. I would recommend to others looking.
