Merrill Gardens

I like the community during the tour. They wanted to put my loved one in Memory Care area for care, and I was able to find another community that was willing to put my loved one in assisted living.

Our tour experience with Merrill Gardens at Ballard was outstanding. The facility and staff was equally as impressive as the other Merrill Gardens location that we went with. The only reason we did not choose this facility was because they did not have any income qualified apartments.

We went with Merrill Gardens at The University because it seemed like the best fit for my loved one. I would tell others that some locations offer income qualified apartments and some do not which was critical to learn, we found out the hard way. I would recommend Merrill Gardens Communities to others looking.

Truewood by Merrill Boise was located in a busy area, which some people might prefer, but my loved one was looking for a more country location with wide open spaces.

It is a really good place to put a loved one if they need assisted living. The communication has been good. Sometimes it can be hard to get a hold of a staff, due to staffing shortages like a lot of places do today. Sometimes it take a bit to follow through on requests from the family. The community has a lot of activities available for the residents to participate in.

We toured The Pines and it was a 5 out of 5. The pines was apart of our top two communities and it was a hard decision between the two. We the other community, as it boiled down to cost and distance.

After my dad passed Mom needed to be closer, so I began searching for the best place for Mom. We found Mistywood, now Truewood and found more than a place for Mom. We found a home for Mom. I love the facility but truly it was [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], supporting staff and residents that made our decision. Mistywood, now Truewood has been a wonderful experience during a difficult transitional season. Very grateful & thankful we found you. Now a Truewood facility, more improvements are coming. Mom has a home and community that has assisted her during this new season she is in. I appreciate each of you so much. P. S: Mom loves going to the beauty parlor on- site each week and getting her hair done by [name removed] ( she does manis & pedis too) A mothers daughter - [name removed]

We toured Merrill Gardens at Monterey, and had a good tour experience and first impression. We chose another community because it was my loved one's preference.

We have had a positive experience. Overall the community is very nice. The staff have been very, very nice and kind. The communication has been good with the staff if we have questions or concerns. The residents are served three meals a day and have anytime dining available.

The facility is very beautiful and brand new, well laid out and had easy access. The staff have all been extremely friendly. For one person the apartment size is perfect. They offer a nice variety of activities and she loves the food. The value for the money is great, you get exactly what you pay for. I would absolutely recommend Merrill Gardens at Columbia to others

We chose Merrill Gardens at Solivita Marketplace because the value for the money was great and also the location was close to me so I could go visit dad often. The apartments are a really good size. For us it has been great and I give them 5's all the way around. I would recommend them to others looking.

We have had a couple of med errors. My loved one is very active, and they wanted to take their meds. The staff wouldn't allow my loved one to have their meds to take when my loved one was out with friends. This individual staff member ended up throwing my loved one's meds away and didn't give them to my loved one at all. The meds are thrown away if the meds are not given to the residents within a two hour window, one hour before and one hour after. According to the staff member this is the policy due to a state regulation, I don't find this appropriate. This has all taken place in the assisted living. My loved one has moved to a different care type within the community now, and is enjoying their time now. They have lots of activities for the residents to participate in. They have a theater, a pool, and a gym for the residents to use. If your loved one needs change the community is able to care for them in the same room.

Truewood's tour was very thorough. They asked all the right questions. And they answered all the right questions. They were on par with other places we toured and liked, and I didn’t see any issues. It just came down to personal preference for our family.

Our family lives out of state and the staff were very helpful in getting the paperwork in order and getting things figured out so that he could move in. They were very forthcoming about any charges and there were never any surprises which was nice. I would definitely recommend Merrill Gardens to other families.

Merrill Gardens was going to be our second choice if the facility we went with did not work out. [name removed] who helped us out was so helpful and went out of her way to answer any questions. She was also always available if we needed her. The facility itself was very nice and the location was close to my loved ones friends too. I like the fact that my loved one would be able to transition from assisted living over to memory care because that is a possibility in the future that we may need.

The gal that was showing us around for the tour was really friendly and helpful with any questions that we had. The facility itself felt a lot more like a nursing home rather than assisted living which is the reason we decided against them.

I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The staff are very friendly. They are prompt in answering or addressing our questions or concerns about my loved ones. The food could use a little more variety for the residents to choose from. There is a menu for the residents to order off of. The independent living side will allow for the family to bring in assistance for our loved ones. The independent living side apartments have large closets, with a full kitchen, and they have a washer and dryer set for the residents to use. The only negative is the microwave is above the stove. The apartment has a screened in porch as a cool option. The apartment, housekeeping, changing of linens, all the meals, transportation, DirectTV, and internet, and utilities are included in the monthly fee.

My experience has been very pleasant. The people here are very warm and welcoming. When I meet other residents in the hallway or elevator, they often introduce themselves and ask how long I've been here. Everybody is just so friendly. It's like we really are a community and all in this together. The staff is really responsive. I've had a good experience with our one maintenance man. He has immediately responded to requests. Dealing with deliveries of furniture and that kind of thing has gone smoothly. I like the menu and options they have. The dining room atmosphere is nice, and everybody is really attentive. Activities are good and getting better. There's something going on every day. There is no night staff and no security at night, so for people who are tending toward dementia, it might not be an ideal solution. But I've had a very good experience here.

We chose Truewood by Merrill because we really liked what we saw when we went to tour it. It is a nice facility that is more like a hotel setting rather than a nursing home. The value for the money played a part in our decision as well. He had a studio and it was a great size and had plenty of space for him. The staff were all very helpful and there when we needed them. I would definitely recommend them to others looking.

The Ackerly is by far the best facility that we looked at out of about 5-6 different places. The facility is new and very clean. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. There are several levels of care available there. Also, the activities and outings they have to get seniors involved have been amazing.
