Merrill Gardens

Truewood staff went above and beyond for my family helping to make it possible for my dad to become part of their community. I have personally witnessed their deep compassion for residents mental and physical well-being. I had struggled for months trying to find an assist living home for my dad that we could help dad afford. I honestly was beyond hope. Dad just did not meet “long term” criteria but definitely fell into the category of “assist living”. The staff at Truewood followed up with me and listened to my story of the struggles I had come up against in finding a place for him. Since dad’s moving into Truewood, he has become “my dad” again! He has his independence yet has the security of caregivers. Thank you for caring and listening to me. You guys are professional, caring, creative, lively and awesome!!! I can not Thank you enough. You have truly been a God send??

My dad is really happy at True wood Fig Garden. He likes the close proximity to their restaurant and says the food is really good. And he really likes the people there. He even met some people he used to go to high school with. And there are also some musicians that come in to perform that he's gotten to know and enjoys their music.

The meals seem to be the only area lacking. Our mother feels they over salt most things. She is enjoying most aspects considering she did not want to go to assisted living. The staff is outstanding and the facility is well appointed

What is really great about Merrill Gardens at Woodstock was they have larger apartments then most. That gave us ability to move more of his personal belongings in and make it feel more like home. Residents also have the ability to eat when they are hungry, there is no set time for lunch or dinner and you can go down whenever they please. It is very nice not having a schedule, especially with his memory issues. Their common areas are very tightly intermingled so it keeps everybody out and about. You come off the elevator and there a large living area with a fireplace and ranges over to a place where people are doing puzzles and things like that. If loved ones come to visit you are able to stay at the facility. There is just so much freedom which makes it stick out from other places. I would absolutely recommend them to others looking, I would move in here myself.

They've been wonderful to work with. We were in pretty dire need of finding a place for my grandma. It was an emergency situation and they've been so amazing. They have gone above and beyond to make this an easy process for her and our family. They made her feel welcome as soon as she got there, so she really felt at home since day one and that's all you can ask for. We fully trust them, we love that they're close by and we love that she likes where she is. If anyone is considering Merrill Gardens at Woodstock, I can only recommend it!

My mother loves living at Merrill Gardens. It's a lovely place. The facility is nice. The apartment is spacious and has a great layout. She is well taken care of and appreciates that meals are provided for her. And she's safe there.

It's really an awesome place. The care given to your loved one would be what you would want for your parent. The staff is excellent. They're friendly, thorough, and efficient. They never miss anything when caring for my family member - they are exceptional. The facility is nice - it's a place I would want to live myself. They serve three meals a day, and you get your own individual apartment. It's clean and comfortable. They have benches down the hallways, so if the elderly get tired they can stop and sit until they're able to get up and go again. There's a sitting area around the fireplace. Outside there's a beautiful garden with walking paths. You can schedule to come in and have meals with your loved one. They have a visiting schedule, but they're flexible with that and never say you can't come in after hours. My loved one has adjusted well and is happy. He loves it there. It's just an incredible place.

The cleanliness of the community is just excellent as well as the staff members. The meals and dining service is wonderful we enjoy eating their ourselves. The activities are excellent but we do think they could have a little more options for men other than poker or black jack. Everyone likes the community so much that it is full, but we would still recommend this community to other families.

I toured this community and it was very nice. The layout and feel wasn't ideal for my loved one, but it was a great place!

Everything here has met or exceeded our expectations. The onboarding staff were both fantastic! The level of care and information from them was absolutely fantastic and they worked very hard to get mom here first and then harder for dad. It was important for us to have them in the same place and they made it happen. The facility does seem to be understaffed, but I'm sure that's all facilities right now. The high turnover just makes things more challenging for care and communication. But their effort to stay on top of things while dealing with the staffing issues is great. It's a clean and well maintained facility. Communication with the family is very good. The food is good, good quality and good variety. They have a main dining room and a bistro, so that adds variety with both food and seating area options. Housekeeping does a great job. They offer a wide variety of regular activities and also do outings. On Friday's they do theme days. They really do try to engage the residents and help keep them involved. I would recommend them to family and friends.

There is no complaints. The interaction with the staff is excellent. The breakfast is the greatest meal. The meal schedule is a primary reason, that we picked Merrill. They have an open dining area. They sometimes have a staffing shortage in the dining area. The value for the money is good. I am happy with the community.

Our Dad lived at Truewood for 11 months and I am so appreciative of the care he received. He had been living alone and lonely before he moved in. He lit up once he got his routine down, having coffee and chats with so many other residents, he wasn't lonely anymore. He gained good weight having good meals, and when he started to decline, his care level was elevated to be more hands on, watchful, tender and sincere. The caregivers, med techs, nurses and administration truly love their jobs and I would highly recommend Truewood.

This facility is new and fresh, very clean. Housekeeping is included. They offer activities, but they are often cancelled. Admin staff is a bit cranky and dramatic. The other staff seems nice overall. There's not much outside space, which is really the only downside. Pricing is good.

We love the amount of care our loved one is receiving at Holden Southcenter. The staff members there are incredible and the community overall is just awesome and we would highly recommend them to all families. Right when you walk into this community everyone is so friendly and welcoming. You have your own key to get through everything. The community is just better all around from our loved ones previous community. The food looks awesome. We have no complaints whatsoever. Everything about Holden Southcenter is just great.

We had a great tour experience with Merrill Gardens at Renton Centre. This facility was actually my mothers favorite out of all of the ones we visited. The price and what they offered was pretty comparable to the the one we ended up choosing. Unfortunately when we came back to this facility to put a deposit down, there were no more units available at the time so we had to choose another place.

My loved one is in memory care. We chose Holden Southcenter because of the price (it is all inclusive) and also they staff just seemed so much more caring. I liked when I heard them say "We think of them as our family" and that is what sold me. They pretty much have lived up to that too. We have had a couple of issues but they have always been resolved. A lot of the employees go above and beyond their roles and they have been incredible. They are very caring and they problem solve. They actually listen and work the problems out. I would absolutely recommend them to other families looking.

But I will tell you that overall the staff is responsive and my mom has settled in nicely. It's a clean orderly facility. I would definitely recommend it to someone in the area. I think her only consistent complaint is that the food is not great. I think it's above average but

The staff has been wonderful. They offer a variety of activities. They are a really wonderful, and welcoming community. They are always responsive, and interactive with my love done, and other residents. They seem to value the residents. I have nothing but good things to say. I picked this place because of the location, cleanliness, and overall the building is lovely.

I toured this facility and it was beautiful! It was very clean and the staff was very nice!
