Truewood by Merrill is an amazing place. Lots of activities you can stay busy from 7:30am until 6pm at night. [name removed] is the Activity Director and she is fantastic. Food is good overseen by [name removed]. All the staff are wonderful and very accommodating and helpful.

The staff were fabulous. The food is not great, but I highly recommend. My brother really did not participate in the group activities, so I don't have any feedback on that. His room was nice...studio but with a separate sleeping area. Kitchen was a bit small for his needs...decided to add a table for his back prep. Again... cannot say enough about the staff - they are fabulous.

The complex is lovely with an interior courtyard, lots of greenery, dining excellent, receptionist team wonderful, limited assistance but good support. Only drawback is once folks required more care, had to move. Great place for seniors! Residents were friendly and welcoming. The residents helped parents get to know their way around.

I would give a 5 for all categories. I've been at Merrill Gardens for about 6 weeks now. Glad I moved here. Have enjoyed it thoroughly. I'm in my 6th week at Merrill Gardens. Which also happens to be the 56th year anniversary of Woodstock. My generation. Peace, love and music. As I've aged (73) I've noticed that some of my pieces and parts are now a little "wiggly". Don't function as well. But what matters - comes from the heart. Peace, kindness and serenity. These are the vibes I continue to feel at Merrill Gardens

Good food restaurant thats open 7am to 7pm two special meals every day. Staff very helpful pretty good activities schedule.

Yes, I would recommend this facility. Very nice/new place, clean, lots of activities for seniors, nice staff, location is great. Restaurant is well staffed and food is good.

I move my dad into Truewood a couple of weeks ago. I have had an excellent experience with them so far! Staff is very friendly, activities director [name removed] is wonderful and engaged. Nice outdoor patio and very clean.

It is a first class place. It's new and clean. The staff are so nice and friendly. Dining is really nice with a restaurant grade menu.

All facilities have there issues but for what I pay these issues should be minimal. I also employ a private caregiver to visit 2-3 times a week. It's a beautiful facility and the staff is just wonderful! They have outings , outdoor parties, Olympics , daily activities, beauty/ hair care. But only a select few can take advantage!

Great, friendly and attentive staff. Family oriented environment. Lots of daily activities. 3 meals per day. It's a good location, close to medical facilities and shopping.

The food is very good to me even though a lot of renters here complain. There are numerous activities that everyone could find something to do. Trips, games, Happy Hour, birthday celebration, etc. everyone is friendly. Workers make an effort to remember everyone's name.

The aides are educated and caring. I don't have to employ anyone privately. There are always 2 nurses in the building and other medical related people come in here when needed. Two maintenance people are always here too in addition to the cleaners. Someone drives patients to appointments when necessary. The cna's like working here and praise the facility in comparison to other places they have worked. The staff gave residents presidents at Xmas and Valentines Day. Mom plays Bingo everyday and goes to whatever activity or event is scheduled: Yesterday root beer floats and trivia. The day before an international children's choir made up of orphans from Liberia and Peru. Free wine is available at 3 Tuesdays and Thursdays. Most of the residents are very friendly. Dogs and cats are allowed. We've not had any surprise price changes or charges. Mom has a Hoyer so no one has to lift her by hand. It's clean and attractive here and the food is fine.

The staff is absolutely amazing. They are very caring not just for my mom but to all the seniors. They pay really close attention to all the residents and advise on what they think is more appropriate for each individual. My mom started out in assistant living but was recommended for independent living and approved by her doctor. Living independently pushes her to do more for herself. She is doing very well thanks to Truewood and their amazing staff

5 for all except food but you know older people are used to their own cooking and cook with salt. They treat my dad very good there

Food very good. Activities are adult, many, frequent, and diverse: guest speakers, live musical performances, exercise-including swimming pool, interesting and fun off site trips, games, and more. Staff are well trained and helpful. Truewood is very well managed; management are readily available and responsive, and it is well maintained inside and out. Looked at many, tried another for 3 months. Truewood for me is by far the best!

Turners Rock is a truly outstanding senior living community! The building is modern—only about five years old—and offers independent living, assisted living, and memory care. Unlike many other senior communities, Turners Rock is bright, contemporary, and impeccably clean. The floor plans are especially impressive, with spacious layouts and large bedrooms—something you rarely find in other senior living options around Springfield. But what truly sets Turners Rock apart is the warm, welcoming community and the exceptional staff. Brad, the director, is friendly, responsive, and genuinely devoted to the residents. The activity director, [name removed], is absolutely PHENOMENAL—charming, personable, and hilarious! He constantly goes above and beyond to keep residents engaged and entertained. One creative example: he prints “funny money” with residents’ photos that they earn at activities and spend at a monthly auction. The Turners Rock driver, [name removed], is incredible—she takes my mom to doctor’s appointments
