The food is not good at Emerald Bay Retirement Living. All the residents hate it there. Other than that I am happy with this facility.

My loved one was only here for a brief time, but I'd say our short experience was a positive one. The facility was well kept and clean, and the staff all seemed very friendly and caring. We ended up needing to move her because Atria does not offer the level of medication management she required, but it is definitely a very nice place for those not needing that service.

Our experience with Lane Park has been a good one so far! The staff here is friendly and professional, and they've done a great job looking after our loved one. The facility itself is well kept and clean, and they've got a lot to offer the people who live here! It's just a very nice place, overall!

We toured this community when we were looking into care options for a loved one. I thought this was a nice looking place overall, but I don't think it would have been a good fit for my loved one. It just seemed a little too large and institutional, and our loved one is more the small quiet place with a garden type.

I toured here when I was looking for options. It wasn't a bad place, but it wouldn't have been a good fit for us. It was clean, and the staff were all very nice. It just wasn't quite what we were looking for.

I almost chose them, but anything you wanted there was an extra charge, and would go up monthly. There were up to 2000 extra dollars worth of charged that could be incurred in a month. Nobody could tell me who made that decision of when you would get charged and for what. They were already the same price as the one I did end up choosing that was all inclusive.

It’s an overall good place to live for a person who has those needs. The food is good. There are outside areas for family members and residents to enjoy. The parking is okay. The best feature is that it’s really clean.

They are extremely t friendly and very helpful! They watch out for people and for keep track of them. Don’t know food, but the menus look really great. No one is perfect, but it’s very clean. The staff is so friendly I’d give them a rare five. They are a comparable value. I just think that they really reach out to help you a lot. My mom had a POD delivered and they were helping and people to unload it. They are accommodating. They Allowed a dog as long as she could care for it, even in memory care.

Memory care is all on one side of the building. but if you're upstairs you can't get downstairs. You'd have to go out of memory care, down into main assisted living part then back around. It's a hard way to get around, you had to actually be walked anywhere by an employee. It was very nice though and I had a neighbor who had looked into it for herself. It's in residential area, which could be good or bad. There's not a lot of grounds, but there was a nice patio on the inside. The woman running it was more business like, but she promised us a free lunch and we never got it! I don't know, she probably just forgot.

I moved mother to Cypress Place. It's very friendly and seems to be smaller than some of the other senior place. My mother is in assisted living so they have regular retired people living there on their own too but my mother is in the assisted living and it seems to be very nice. The care that I have her set up for seem to working out well. My mother's in pretty good shape but she's starting with dementia and forgets to take medicine and certain things - that's why she needed assisted living. They have constant activities. She has a few that she goes to but she's pretty set in her ways. We keep pushing her to get her more involved. I think it's going to take time. I think when someone first goes to a place like this it's important to talk to them and welcome them so they don't feel so alone or like the new person on the block. They need to be trying to get them involved. Cypress seems to have people that try to get my mom involved in things. It's just a gradual working process.

My mother-in-law is doing pretty good. She was in the regular part but they just put her in the memory unit recently. It's clean and nice but it's not as spacious and not as luxurious as the assisted living side. I don't think she's real wild about it. It's more structured and there are more do things as a group in the memory care. The people are really nice. It's not real cheap but it's real nice!

We moved our loved one with Alzheimers to this facility in the hopes of her taking advantage of the many activities, outings and nutritional food choices offered. Unfortunately her present mental status and her anger at being taken from her home has caused her to not participate in much of anything so although she is paying for all these amenities she is not taking advantage of them. She is in the independent living area so no care services per se are provided unless contracted with an outside agency.

I really like this community too but my father-in-law was concerned with all the stairs around there. I said he could use the elevator but he didn't like the idea of that either. I think he likes to be able to walk right out and have everything on one level. I thought they were very nice.

I'm happy so far. My mother's been in there a little over a month so it's still pretty new. So far I'm happy. I don't think she's really happy there. She lived with us for over 10 years and that was a big transition for her. Part of the problem (I'm going to talk to them about this) is she's in what they call generations which is their memory care and the people on her floor are much lower functioning than she is so I think she feels quite isolated. So far she hasn't made any friends so that part is not too good. That's not their fault but it hasn't been that good of adjustment for her and I think that's part of the problem. The do have activities. They have some thing every morning but I just don't think the activities are very stimulating for her. They're all in the section of the care facility that has a key pad on it. There are two floors and I really don't know anything about the people on the second floor but an awful lot of the people on her floor don't seem to have any recognition of the people around them or don't talk at all. There are no real problems. I think I made a good choice but I just wish the atmosphere was a little different.

I think that they need to have more staff for the number of people in the memory care unit. I know the ratio of caregivers to residents is meeting the basic state requirements and is probably better than many other places, but still, it just seems to me they don't have enough people to attend to the multiple needs of all the residents always in a timely fashion. They have a good number of staff, but I would have liked to see one or two more on any given shift. For what people are paying to have their loved one there, it seems that "more than 'adequate' staff" should be provided. I just don't see how that many people with dementia can be carefully monitored, with superior-quality care, unless there is a slightly higher ratio of staff-to-residents. I'm aware there's probably some kind of cost issue (competitiveness with other facilities) going on. I just wish all facilities would not scrimp so much on their staff.

The staff is very friendly but we've had some slight efficiency issues. When my mom moved in three weeks ago, she had a life alert button from her last community. Claremont Place was supposed to cancel it for her. This last week she got a bill so it hasn't been done yet. They can pay that as far as I'm concerned. I shopped around and this was the best value for our budget. My parents have been there for a three weeks. I wish they would participate more in the activities. They have something different every day - church, trips, walking, concerts, movies, crafts, etc. Overall I'm very pleased with it.

I visited several all facilities and chose Assisted Living at the Meadowlands because of its location and hardworking staff. The staff is very compassionate and care about their residents. The place and attractive and decorated nicely, has a warm feel.

Love the facilities and Director was great. As of today it is in my top two.

Nice large rooms, staff was nice, very clean. My mother's smoking would be an issue unless she could get a private room right near the courtyard patio.
