Villas of Holly Brook is great place. They are very friendly here and willing to help. Mom doesn't participate in many activities yet but they have plenty to choose from. This facility is very clean. I am really pleased with everything here.

Through the services of A PLACE FOR MOM, I was able to assist my brother in looking for a facility that could best meet his needs. The internet information was most helpful because I live in NC and was unable to get down there. I pray that he can afford to stay there.

Everyone we came in contact with at the Meadowlands have been wonderful. Very compassionate and understanding of what we were going through. They made every step of the way so much easier to handle. And we have seen nothing but kindness and caring with all of the residents. The place is close, homey, like your family.

I visited this community with my mother who is considering independent living. The staff was friendly and I noticed many residents out and about engaged in activities throughout the community. My mother felt very comfortable there which is the key to success on this move for her. The dining room was very nice and we reviewed a sample menu that was befitting of a five star restaurant. The apartments were nicely laid out with some updates. My mother loved the lanai that overlooked the preserve areas. Grounds were well maintained. Overall it was a great experience.

I think there could be more activities for people like my mom who are hard of hearing and have difficulty with their vision. They do a lot of activities going on but my mom can't participate in things like movie night, bingo, Wii bowling activities and stuff like that her main complaint is she's bored which I've told her is not really that bad of a complaint. After she was settled in we took her to look at other place and she realized that she liked it here best. The staff is wonderful. They really look after their resident and they get to know them personally. I think it's the best in the area. The residents are all about the same physical ability. The ones that need a little more care (wheelchair bound) are in another wing. They have a lovely courtyard garden area that she walks everyday. She's definitely in the right place.

They are very personable and friendly. They seem like they really care. It is more of a big family feeling than a business. I felt comfortable there. The dining area for the assisted living area is more like a restaurant than a cafeteria. They have a great variety of food. Even the memory care unit has 2 choices for eating. I love that they have a full Mass every Friday. That is important.

It's closer to my house and has fire proof walls, it's more expensive a month but if someone has difficulty walking I would suggest north bay and if your parent or anyone needs rehab I would recommend them because they have rehab on site so they can get rehab and then go back to their apartment.

MY DAD LIVED AT ATRIA MERRYWOOD FOR ALMOST 3 YEARS AND LOVED IT THERE. HE LIVED IN THE INDEPENDENT LIVING AREA AND WAS ABLE TO KEEP HIS BELOVED DOG WITH HIM, WHICH WAS VERY IMPORTANT TO HIM AND TO US. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT, ACTIVITIES WERE GREAT AND THEY HAVE TRANSPORTATION TO DOCTORS AND GROCERY STORES - ALSO HAVE ACTIVITIES OUTSIDE OF THE COMMUNITY LIKE TRIPS TO THE ART MUSEUM AND TO BROADWAY LIGHTS SHOWS IN TOWN. THE STAFF IS VERY GOOD AND CARING AND IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE WITH GENERAL HOUSE KEEPING YOU CAN HIRE ONE OF THE GREAT AGENCIES THEY PARTNER WITH TO HELP OUT ON EVEN A QUARTER HOUR A WEEK IF NEEDED, BUT 1/2 HOUR OR ONE HOUR PER WEEK TO HELP. IT IS A GREAT PLACE. I RECOMMEND IT.

Atria Merrywood is the perfect place for my Mom. Both staff and residents are very friendly and respectful. Her apartment is very generous in size, however there is limited storage. The grounds and the common spaces are beautiful and well maintened. There was some confusion in the begining due to change in staff ( sales force), but was soon corrected.

One bedroom apartment size is great, common spaces are very clean. I like that the halls are hard floor and not cluttered so they feel clean. I have had a few issues with medication administration- staff has messed up doses a few times. Took me a while to realize they were sometimes leaving doses with my mom and not monitoring her taking them. Medication director is responsive and easy to text about it though. Director just changed. Social scene has been really great for my mom. She is very social there. We had some issues with maintenance being under staffed. Had trouble replacing mini fridge and window blinds with versions that worked better. Also location is great that it is walkable to the shopping center next door with grocery, restaurants and other services like hair salon. One of the residents is (self-elected?) ambassador and makes all the new residents feel really welcome, helps connect new folks socially, and checks up on my mom often. Also, recently it was my mom's birthday and they had balloons, signs everywhere. They also have endless fresh baked cookies and happy hours with snacks and desserts.

The staff is wonderful and always friendly and helpful. Housekeeping and dining have been areas where we feel there is room for improvement, but we are hopeful that things will continue to improve under the new management. Overall, we appreciate the caring staff and look forward to seeing the positive changes ahead.

[name removed] is unhappy there (she probably would be unhappy wherever she went) and also thinks Woodmere is too expensive and not worth the money.

Four for all categories. My aunt really liked the visit. She said if she could afford it, she would move into the facility. It is friendly and clean and we would recommend Smithfield Woods community to others.

Most places are not like this. We have activities all day staff are funny. Food is ok but I like to eat burgers. My favorite thing is the staff always there for me and get what I need like my coffee and ice cream.

We were given a great tour, questions answered etc But the lack of space, tiny kitchen w/o oven& stove, single bedroom make it the wrong choice for us

The admin is very helpful but does not always seem to communicate with each other which can make for a lot of repetitive transitions. The staff working directly with my mom are wonderful and so respectful to her.

Overall this facility has been very good. Nothing and nobody can be perfect. Everybody here would rather be at home though. Sometimes we have to do things we don't want to do, no matter what we think.

I call it a family. I like how all the staff work together to make things happen. I like the experience with the people. The Food is good and can’t say anything bad right now. I am very happy and so is my wife.

The tour of Smithfield Woods was wonderful [name removed] was attentive to our questions and concerns regarding my Aunts care and social opportunities available to her. By the way, after three other assisted living facility tours, we chose Smithfield Woods.

It was not the best experience when I arrived. There was a director having a meltdown because she thought she would have to do the tour herself. She left and then she came back again, saying how she couldn’t do the tour so I went and sat down and waited for the Director of sales. The tour with sales person was great. She’s very informative. She showed me all the great things very imaginative. I had a great time with the sales person.
