Our favorite so far. Has everything we are looking for. Concerned about additional cost for "levels of care". Uncle to do a "Day Care" day there tomorrow to get more exposure to the facility.

The staff members are wonderful but when it comes to the care services it can be a hit or a miss and we think that could be due to the lack of communication with the families. They could also improve on the activities. It is one of the highest priced communities in the area

The administrative staff talks a lot but doesn't follow through with promises made, we were disappointed with them. Communication also could have been improved, we never got to speak to the doctor while our loved one was here. Some of the employees were great some were not so good.

This community is renovated and remodeling so it was very welcoming, and even though our loved one at times complained about the meals our family was very pleased with them.

the tour guide was very attentive. they had a Montessori teaching approach, which is great for memory care - helping to reduce confusion and anxiety. we chose another community because we were not impressed with the room setup. the shared bedrooms do not have a divider or wall between roommates, so there is a serious lack of privacy. the bathroom also needed remodeling and seemed unhygienic.

The place itself was beautiful. But I don’t think it would have been a good fit for my loved one. She was at an earlier state of dementia and higher functioning, so it didn't seem like there would be enough social opportunities and companionship for her here.

Pine Grove Crossing looked like a newer building, but the apartments were nasty looking. It just looked and felt like a hospital building, not an apartment. The rooms were just way too small, and weirdly set up - and would not have been sufficient for my mom. Their services looked great though.

The staff tries to accommodate. Just like many other facilities, there's a high turnover of staff. The front desk staff and a couple of the nurses we interacted with were very friendly. The staff have done the absolute best they possibly can. It's a beautiful facility. It has nice finishes, and the rooms are nice. If someone were the type that would want to take advantage of the activities, there are ample opportunities. I just happen to have a family member who keeps to himself and doesn't choose to do any of that. I would give the facility itself a 5 out of 5 for cleanliness. As far as our family member's individual area, that could use a little bit of work. I'd rate that at about a 2.5 out of 5. Pine Grove Crossing actually reached out to us about it. They noticed some hygiene issues that were not being addressed, and they are providing some supplemental services to address those issues. They were also planning on changing his mattress and some other things to make it a little more clean.

My only complaint is the communication between the staff and myself regarding my husband. I have yet to speak to the doctor about my husband's medications, though I have left several messages. I would also like to visit him more often. I have not seen his room or the activities they have for him. He complains that things are missing and he claims they have been stolen, but I have no justification for that, as he is very confused.

My relative is slowly adjusting to living with new people and to all the amenities offered at Chevy Chase House. Her apartment is spacious and inviting, and she finds the meals mostly well prepared. Occasionally, there are a few food items that need improvement. The activities are plentiful and well received. Although the cost of residing at Chevy Chase House is quite high, she would definitely recommend living there.

My mom says she likes it there, food is good, people are nice. She's not really into activities, but I feel that she's safe, and able to get immediate help if needed. She appears content. It's located less than 2 miles from my house, so it's convenient and one of the reasons we chose it.

We toured the Brookdale Smithfield. It was a nice community the staff was friendly and gave a good presentation of what their community could offer. We chose a smaller community that was a better fit for my mother.

Our experience with Lane Park has been a good one, in general, and I think they are working on improving. It's a newer facility, and they've got a new management staff in that is working on making things better. I saw quite a few communities in the area and this is definitely one of the better ones. However, as is the case with a lot of these places, I feel like things wouldn't be going as smoothly if I wasn't visiting often and being an advocate for my loved one, and I wish I didn't feel like that was necessary.

I have found that the staff is very friendly. My aunt came here for rehab and to our surprise because she always made us promise not to put her in a nursing home she decided she didn't want to leave. She misses the rehab floor because they were more helpful.
