I saw this one and it was nice. It was not quite as open as another place I saw. It was a little more expensive, and further away, so we didn't go with this one.

That was not my favorite. It was just not very bright. The lady was very nice and very accommodating - it was the building, the room and the accommodations in general. It was more dark and dreary.

At times we have to want a while (15-20 mins) before we can get assistance, help is friendly when they arrive, but more helpers would be good. The food is usually pretty good. We rarely go hungry.

I would like to say when I started my journey at Smithfield Woods I want happy because I wanted to stay home, however as time went by I got a lot better for me. The staff is very nice, the meals are food and my overall experience has been good.

My main complaint is the lack of cleanliness. They run out of medications also... they don't have a good system for reordering meds. The staff is amazing though! The activities are great! The food is good! The rooms are big, but the building is older.

Sometimes they run out of food on posted menu and a substitute is given. Staff are friendly.

Kitchen staff was great. As always nursing staff was short handed and not sure they got to my mother in law in a very timeless basis...sometimes never got to her until we called. Had an issue or two with The woman who we initially spoke to and gave us the tour however, some of that was due to one of our family members.

This is a nice place to live. It's safe, quiet and clean. Staff do a good job! Food isn't good! Also they don't put out enough snacks. Activities need to offer more: trips to shop or eat out! More movie nights! Would like technical hep with phone & WiFi classes!

[name removed] was amazing to work with. They needed a better staff to resident ratio.

Recently I will say the medical care by the visiting doctors has gotten wonderful. They are following up and ensuring things are getting done as requested. I have been very impressed with the follow-up and discussion with the nurse practitioner

I was just overall a little disappointed, but this being my first experience with senior care perhaps I had higher expectations - staff often acted like they did not have time to address my specific concerns. I should clarify, nursing and aid staff were better than administrative staff (by quite a bit). It is possible my answers are skewed by the fact that they went through a leadership change during the eight months my mom was there. The room sizes are sufficient.

When booking our 2 pm appointment it would have been beneficial to have someone available who was knowledgeable. The person we had was filling in and couldn’t answer questions. She did the best she could. [name removed] was on conference calls and we had to wait an hour and a half hour to speak to her. Since then, I have left two messages and one email to [name removed] with follow-up questions and am still awaiting a response.

I left because of the lack of honesty and communication from the director and head RN. I was very concerned with the lack of care and professionalism from the LPNs and RPNs concerning my dad's physical health. The majority of the aides, on the other hand, were very friendly, caring, and professional when I was there. The facility was clean immaculately, but I noticed it started to deteriorate the month before we left. The food was great. The activities coordinator [name removed] is the best thing about the facility. She was one of the reasons we remained there so long. I was very concerned about my dad physical health there, so we left a little over 16 months now. So I'm not sure of the current quality of care. Also, they have the best doctor, [name removed] she is a gem.

The move in was fairly smooth. My father’s apartment is nice and big, but there are some technical issues with the setup of the bathroom that makes mobility a bit difficult. When he moved in, it was fairly clean except for the overhead lights which had a lot of dead bugs in them. Overall, staff seems fairly nice and helpful. However, my biggest concern has been quality of service and training. Most of the staff are non or minimal English speaking and really struggle to figure out what is appropriate as far as when and how to enter rooms and what services to provide. I think all that is needed is some really intensive training for them. Finally, it would be nice to see the main areas updated and brighter/more visually appealing and welcoming.

Left after 6 months, they had a 15% price increase, she tested positive for Covid and wasn't notified for 6 days, the entry door is locked and you have to be buzzed in and there is no receptionist so you could be standing outside in any weather for as long as it takes a staff member to open the door and more than half the time her morning meds weren't dispensed until lunchtime.

No personal experience with the meals and dining, but my parents complained frequently about the food. There were some activities but you had to seek them out It's crazy how expensive these places are. This one is okay. Good not great. The staff is comprised of fairly low level nurses' helper type workers. They suffer from understaffing for sure. Some of the staff are wonderful, caring people. Others are just there for a job and would be gone in a minute if the next place up the road offered more pay. Some places are bright and wonderful, full of engaged and welcoming staff - this isn't one of those places. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either.

Understaffed with no oversight or leadership from management. Seems like more than half the staff is from a third party (temporary workers). Mistakes made in serving items Mom is allergic to. Meals not up to par. Meal choices are between two entrees. Residents are rushed from dining area, no time to socialize. The room cleaning and laundry we were promised is a joke family has to step up. Several promises made to sell the room but SW does not measure up. They need a leader. Place has great potential. Residents all agree.

Would love more staff, the staff is great now though (8 years resident)

While good medical care, not a good fit for my mother. Laundry and other services were sporadic.
