Everyone we came in contact with at the Meadowlands have been wonderful. Very compassionate and understanding of what we were going through. They made every step of the way so much easier to handle. And we have seen nothing but kindness and caring with all of the residents. The place is close, homey, like your family.

I think there could be more activities for people like my mom who are hard of hearing and have difficulty with their vision. They do a lot of activities going on but my mom can't participate in things like movie night, bingo, Wii bowling activities and stuff like that her main complaint is she's bored which I've told her is not really that bad of a complaint. After she was settled in we took her to look at other place and she realized that she liked it here best. The staff is wonderful. They really look after their resident and they get to know them personally. I think it's the best in the area. The residents are all about the same physical ability. The ones that need a little more care (wheelchair bound) are in another wing. They have a lovely courtyard garden area that she walks everyday. She's definitely in the right place.

They are very personable and friendly. They seem like they really care. It is more of a big family feeling than a business. I felt comfortable there. The dining area for the assisted living area is more like a restaurant than a cafeteria. They have a great variety of food. Even the memory care unit has 2 choices for eating. I love that they have a full Mass every Friday. That is important.

It's closer to my house and has fire proof walls, it's more expensive a month but if someone has difficulty walking I would suggest north bay and if your parent or anyone needs rehab I would recommend them because they have rehab on site so they can get rehab and then go back to their apartment.

MY DAD LIVED AT ATRIA MERRYWOOD FOR ALMOST 3 YEARS AND LOVED IT THERE. HE LIVED IN THE INDEPENDENT LIVING AREA AND WAS ABLE TO KEEP HIS BELOVED DOG WITH HIM, WHICH WAS VERY IMPORTANT TO HIM AND TO US. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT, ACTIVITIES WERE GREAT AND THEY HAVE TRANSPORTATION TO DOCTORS AND GROCERY STORES - ALSO HAVE ACTIVITIES OUTSIDE OF THE COMMUNITY LIKE TRIPS TO THE ART MUSEUM AND TO BROADWAY LIGHTS SHOWS IN TOWN. THE STAFF IS VERY GOOD AND CARING AND IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE WITH GENERAL HOUSE KEEPING YOU CAN HIRE ONE OF THE GREAT AGENCIES THEY PARTNER WITH TO HELP OUT ON EVEN A QUARTER HOUR A WEEK IF NEEDED, BUT 1/2 HOUR OR ONE HOUR PER WEEK TO HELP. IT IS A GREAT PLACE. I RECOMMEND IT.

Atria Merrywood is the perfect place for my Mom. Both staff and residents are very friendly and respectful. Her apartment is very generous in size, however there is limited storage. The grounds and the common spaces are beautiful and well maintened. There was some confusion in the begining due to change in staff ( sales force), but was soon corrected.

Generally happy with living here. Feels staff does a nice job on a daily basis. Food could have a little more flavor.

I feel the kitchen needs to connect as a team a little better. Not loving the food, feels food has been spicy. The care team is doing a very good job. Housekeeping keeps room very clean and home feeling.

I have lived at MerryWood since [date removed]. The activities are wonderful. I just came from a wonderful session where we were drumming and what I’ve liked about that is all of us are different. We have different skills, but somehow we all came together to drum together and make music. tai chi and yoga are two of the my favorite things. The people that do it are fantastic and I also like just being with people you know that I have something in common with and so we can talk and it’s very nice to go outside and sit in the sun and talk to people and watch the roses grow. It’s such a pretty property with so much space and the people are probably the finest. I also comment on the good food in the dining room room, but most of all the waiters I’ve never seen people so dedicated to us that they know who we are. They know what we’d like to drink and they can’t wait to serve you and the other things I like, or just the spaciousness of my apartment.

Stopped in to visit a neighbor that had moved to Brookstone. Very nice on the inside. Her new neighbors were all lined up sitting by the dining area and were very sweet in welcoming me into the fold. I talked with all of them for awhile and they told me where to find my friend since there was no receptionist. Everywhere I walked I met her new friends. She has a lovely room and her door is always open. We went and did a puzzle, we had a view of the beautiful foyer. We had a slice of bread and coffee from the Activity Room then took a walk around the her new home it was a nice day. I have a suggestion to make smoking prohibited in the front of the building. We ended our walk went back to her room and had a nice time. Saw my new friends I met in the beginning and told them I would see them again.

Nice facility. Smelled real good! I wish I had met with the manager of the facility rather than a subsitute person.

Staff are friendly, supportive and very helpful.

Harbor Village was a very nice, clean facility. The people were friendly. I thought the price was high for the value of services compared to other places.

The caregivers are amazing and truly care about the residents. They provide a nice array of activities to choose from. The administrative staff is challenged with communication and the business office has been frustrating to deal with. Look at your monthly statements! Overall I feel as though my dad is safe and well cared for.

I would, they have a wonderful staff. that go above and beyond. nice community of people.

Almost everything was excellent except for the layout of the 2 bedroom apartment. We thought that the living room was too small.

I moved in to MerryWood in July 2019 it was great until Covid hit. There were a few administration changes. Things are back to being great. I love to cook so I love having my own kitchen to prepare my own meals but when I don’t feel like cooking Chef [name removed] makes the most delicious meals. I participate in a lot of the activities. Became an ambassador and joined the resident council. There are a lot of Activities, shopping opportunities and excursions that I can get involved in. I’ve really enjoyed my 5 1/2 years at MerryWood.

The staff is polite and has good knowledge of activities, menu and other amenities offered. This home has a nice dinning room, with a menu posted daily. The building design does not flow with each hallway being a dead end, which could be confusing. The court yard has an open concept, not enclosed. An enclosed courtyard gives a more cozy atmosphere. As for an Assisted Living dwelling, the atmosphere smells more like a Nursing Home. Even though this Assisted Living is much closer to my home, I declined renting an apartment.

Overall the staff is great but the house keeping and the pushers have a good turnover rate which makes them in a learning curve. Some residents take up a lot of time also causing delays in pushing other residents. Example residents are getting showers during peak eating times so residents who need pushing are delayed being pushed. It is a beautiful place and well kept and very safe. There are activities if you are interested but they get a low turnout for some unknown reason. The food is ok but sometimes they run out of condiments which they should have. The apartments are on the small size which has limitations on storage. All things considered it is a very good place to live compared to others as they all have problems finding help as it takes a special person to do the job. They do not have a Beauty Shop at this time which is very important to the residents.

Lots more men here than most places. Oftentimes men outnumber women in the dining room for breakfast especially. We chose the most expensive room that has a separate bedroom from the main living area with a small kitchenette. Pretty much space for a sofa, recliner and several smaller chairs for seating. Also room for a small dining table inside the door adjacent to the kitchen area. Meals used to be much better when we first arrived but the quality and variety has declined to just average or below the past few months. Many residents do complain about that. They are short-staffed and do have difficulty keeping housekeepers and servers which places more workload on those who have been here awhile. We do like it here since it's all one floor and the staff is friendly.
