We have been very pleased with efforts by the staff at Highland Glen to protect the residents from COVID-19 and yet encourage them to keep in contact with family members. More recently we have enjoyed correctly-distanced and masked visits in the garden area and appreciate the planning for winter visits with plexiglass dividers in the great room. With no positive tests in the HG community, our father is again enjoying participating in regularly-scheduled activities, with correct protocols in place of course.

Highland Glen is amazing! Every staff I’ve interacted with is so friendly and really cares for the residents there. They’ve been working tirelessly during this pandemic to keep them safe. They’ve been planning activities and are constantly searching for new and safe ways to keep the residents active. Every time I’ve gone in I’ve been greeted warmly by the darling front desk girl. If you are looking for a home for a loved one please check them out!

Our father is living at Highland Glen and it's a very clean, comfortable home for him. He has been able to socialize and enjoys community activities. The staff is very nice and kind and try hard to meet the needs of all the residents. Our experience at Highland Glen has been very positive and we feel our father is well taken care of.

My wife and I have lived at The Reserve for over 8 years and we are thankful we moved here. In spite of changes in ownership and personnel, the essential services and culture which make this community so attractive have remained unchanged. The Reserve is a friendly and welcoming community, where residents feel that they are part of a family. It is hard to imagine a more caring staff. Even though there have been changes in some staff members over these years, the replacements are as supportive as the ones who left - a tribute to the selection and training by our management. Also impressive is the flexibility that management has shown with regard to resident needs and proposals. My wife and I, as well as many other residents, have been very satisfied with the food and food service at The Reserve, but there are other residents who would not agree with us. I'm sure that differences in opinion and preferences regarding food is typical of retirement communities. Finally, I should mention our lovely campus. The buildings are surrounded by trees, and residents can walk safely away from busy streets.

I think it is a great place to go. it is a small facility so I feel they can manage more. Thornton Commons does very well helping out and working with the hospice team. My father passed there and my mother still lives there. My mother is happy there . The staff are pleasant to her. I would recommend this community to other families.

A medical professional who visits many senior facilities recommended Almond Heights to us. After researching/visiting several possible options it seemed clear that Almond Heights offered by far the best balance between quality and cost. The professionalism and people skills of the administrative staff were far superior to other places. My 102 year-old mother was very reluctant to leave her home, and I can't say she is thrilled with being in an assisted living situation, but she cannot say enough good things about the quality of the care she's receiving.

When I was looking for a “Place for Mom” I was given several names of places that might meet our needs. I visited most on the list. From the moment of my first contact I felt good about Mariposa Point. Mom has been a resident in Assisted Living for over a year and I still feel that it is the very best place for her. Each senior and family brings basic as well as unique needs to a group setting. I have felt that our needs and concerns have always been respectfully addressed and have been met in a well thought through resolution. I have enjoyed participating in special events and family meetings and education. Being included in such events has allowed us to help Mom develop a sense of belonging to a community of staff and residents. We have seen frequent staff turn over, perhaps more frequent than we would like but there are several really great team members that have been there the length of Mom’s stay. Mom counts them as friends and they brighten her days. There are many new facilities opening in our general area, some much more convenient in location for me. I have visited a few and marveled at what they have to offer but even so I leave feeling good about keeping Mom where she is at Mariposa Point. The bottom line is, even if she feels they have green beans too often or she doesn’t always get a good seat at bingo she is safe, cared for, respected and happy.

My Mom recently moved to the Villas and it has been a hard transition from her own home of 50 years to a one bedroom apartment. However, the staff at the Villas have been so amazing during the past two months - caring, helpful, cheerful, kind and patient with her initial "lost-ness". We know that she will eventually settle in and think of the Villas as home. Her health has improved greatly with the careful and consistent oversight of her medications and her diet. We are so grateful to everyone at the Villas for taking such good care of my Mom!

Seven Lakes Memory Care has a very caring staff who works hard to make each person in the community feel valued and get what they need despite their dementia. They work with the families and have open access at all times to see their loved ones there. They communicate well when the family isn't there to let them know how their loved one is. I have recommended Seven Lakes to others.

Northgate Plaza is very favorable. I love the anytime dining, the staff members, all very helpful and pleasant to be around. One area for improvement would be clearer guidelines during the move-in process.

The Commons is a very nice place to live and the people are very kind and caring. The level of care can be altered depending upon need. I am very pleased with this place.

We've lived at The Firs for 5 years now. Many changes (all for the good) have been implemented in that time. All staff here have been exceptional – everyone knows our name and habits very quickly. Dining room and kitchen crew, maintenance and activities make us happy and a part of The Firs Family. In particular, the young adults from high school that serve us in the dining room, many remain working here until graduation and then move away for college and come back for holidays and summer! Any newcomers learn from them and we get to make new young friends again. [Name removed], our Director has been pivotal in making so many positive changes, providing us with an all day restaurant, among many other things. Our maintenance guys ([name removed], [name removed] and [name removed] – our very own MBK) are always on top of things and rapidly tend to our residents. The activities director, [name removed] is always listening to us and trying out new innovative & fun things. Our concierge, who knew all the building secrets for so many years, recently left us to raise her family, but was replaced with little [name removed] who is a talented individual that is filling the position quite admirably. [Name removed] & [name removed] seal the deal they always want to make us happy. He helps in any way and lends his technology smarts a ton for everyone. Her friendliness is contagious. Busy with organizations in the area, President of Senior Action Network and local fundraising, she leads exercise class every morning for the residents, as well as hosting the Saturday morning Coffee & Conversation. She routinely helps out in the dining room and residents are always seeking her out for help in so many ways. [Name removed] is our lynch-pin at The Firs. The building and exterior grounds are well maintained and quite beautiful. I think I'll go out and enjoy them!

SC Villas by the Sea is a perfect place for my mom. They have outings, bingo and friendly staff. They have birds, a pool, amenities for families. The residents are free to do their own laundry. It's a good place for seniors that are mobile and social.

My mother has been a resident of The Montera for a few months now and I can say that she has been receiving excellent care. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. I needed to have mom checked on today and that was done within 5 minutes of my call. It is a comfort to know that she is in good hands at all times. The programs and activities are very comprehensive and enriching. From my experience they seem to add new and interesting activities every month, such as wine tasting. The management is very approachable and there is a high level of caring about the residents.

Very enjoyable living. Great food! Activities optional. Nice folks and staff is excellent.

My husband has been here for over two years and has really enjoyed living here. They have been attentive to his needs and have kept me informed when something happens. The activity directors are great! The staff on the memory care are terrific and attentive.

My husband & I were so lucky to find this home for his Mother. During her 3 years there, our expectations were exceeded in every way. It's not what I remembered from the nursing homes I visited in my childhood.... thank goodness! It' s decorated so beautifully, smells nice & the food is really good. Everyone we encountered there was very compassionate & accommodating. They have ever changing activities & events for the residents. When my Mother in Law passed in her sleep, the head administrator made a point to come out to our car to speak with us well after hours. She was actually crying with us. What a wonderful place to live!
