The staff were very friendly and helpful during the tour, giving us basic information about the overall facility, amenities, and features they felt would be attractive to our family member if she chose to visit and tour for herself. The studio apartments had more than adequate space and features. The exterior was attractive and welcoming and the neighborhood surrounding quiet and pleasant. We were introduced to available staff members as well as residents while there. This facility, the location, the staff, and the overall atmosphere of the property more than met the guidelines we had set for our expectations of a new home for our family member. The cooking aroma from the kitchen gave a very homey feel to the dining room

So far everything has been good. Only issue has been prescriptions getting switched over and refills seem to be delayed. Staff seems nice. The food is ok. For the most part mom enjoys it.

Overall, 4 stars. This is the only location in northeast Columbia that has a patio-style living arrangement where she has a back door directly to the yard and can take out her dog. That's the best thing I can say about this place. The staff is constantly turning over, and they are short-staffed. In the dining area, the trash is not always picked up when it's supposed to be. Right now, the ants are crazy on the sidewalks, but since she has a dog, this is where she will have to stay. You can't compare this particular place to any other however, I will say it is the least expensive so you get what you're paying for.

5. While getting sister settled in, some questions/concerns regarding medications administered "or" not administered, were not responded too timely. Night Rx given for 2 days instead of at night. Leaving sister to drowzy to function. Request for inhouse doctor program wasn't provided in detail and required additional info inquiries to determine sisters elgibility or not. 6. Sister is used to southern foods. Meal menu is 1 option, or a very few "always available" options. 2 protein options and more vegetables would help her. Overall, Grace Manor is a nice place and the best value in the Polk County area.

Everyone was very friendly and showed me around several times.. It was a more peaceful setting... not in the city, surrounded by trees and marsh

So far, my Mom really enjoys her room there and the people she has met. It is a good, comfortable change of scenery, the staff are nice, and it's in a good location. She really doesn't like the food, though, and has already started preparing her own food in a microwave and toaster oven.

I was a true advocate for my father and because I was I feel his care was good. I got to know the director of the marketing director the director of the food service I mean it was very easy to know these people I felt it at times it was necessary. I think they suffered from the same thing that a lot of places suffered from which is a lot of turnover with nursing aids, etc. but outside of that, I think it's a good place. They were very reactive to most of the things, but I did feel for people who did not have advocates. I'm not sure about their service the environment. The place was very nice and I think they try very hard to do a good job. I know for the price it was a good value

Ruth was very friendly, supportive and helpful. The facility was nice, clean and in line with what I am looking for.

There was a small maintenance issue that lasted 2 weeks, but not anything major. Also, my father had a seizure and no one called my sister to let her know and she found out 5 hours later when she went to pick him up for a doctor appointment. The director explained the protocol to my sister and the nurse that should have called her. All was fine and we are very happy with them, just a couple of hiccups. The staff are very present and they are very friendly and helpful. They send a copy of the monthly activities to me and my sister and post daily activities on a board by the doors to the dining room for residents.

My aunt mentioned she feels safer now that she is settled in. Staff is very nice and attentive

[name removed] was so accommodating and took time to introduce my client and myself to the activity director and the placement director. [name removed] and others were very knowledgeable and took the time to answer our questions, show us a host of room options available and made us feel very welcomed. The community seems very warm and friendly. I felt like they wanted my client to be there.

Nice facility. Clean with helpful staff. All questions answered. Residents seemed content. Location was easy to access. Nice surroundings.

My mom was only there for a week and a half before she ended up in the hospital and is now in a nursing home for physical therapy. The food was really good - I got to eat a meal with her there once and the sides were very nice. On the flip side, it sometimes took a long time to answer her call button and sometimes no one came at all.

Clean and a good value. But very high turnover and a lot of confusion in administration/management. The people taking care of my mom were nice but they were constantly changing. Confusion about how to handle her prescriptions.

Many times the food is carb-heavy, making it difficult for diabetic residents. The staff is friendly, but they are short-staffed most weekends and mornings. They need to add more variety to the food menu.

The place is a 4 and nearing a 5 from what I can see when I visit. So my comments are from my conversations with my wife and my father-in-law he lives there. Every time I've visited he seems happy living there the grounds are clean and well-kept. We have had only good encounters with management they have been so helpful in getting him settled in, he is thankful to them and to A Place for Mom as well.

The administrative staff is very helpful and handles most problems quickly. The health aides and general staff are very friendly, and do. their jobs well. Kudos to[Name removed]- he goes above and beyond . The cook [Name removed] is very accessible and friendly. My sister loves everything, but the food. There is a lack of seafood offerings and variety of fresh fruits. The facility itself is very clean and well-maintained. The monthly activity calendars are very useful. It helps me in discussing different activities with my sister. I would recommend this facility readily ( and have) to friends and family.

They are happy with the staff and my problem is not really with the staff, it's a family member who is my wife's health advocate, who also works in this field from Connecticut. My wife of 58 years is happy, that is all that matters to me. Thank you and A Place For Mom, for all your help.

I have had a wonderful experience so far at Grace Manor Suites. They provide excellent home cooked meals! Everyone, staff and management bring that southern charm and hospitality. Always clean and smells great.
