If you are looking for a place for your loved one, look somewhere else. They don't care about their residents. The nurses there, [Removed] were unprofessional, hateful, and rude. In Assisted Living, the only assistance you get is with bathing, getting dressed, and they will give you your medications. Other than that, if you need something else, they tell you that your loved one can't stay there and they must move. The housekeeping is terrible. They had left old food out and ants were all over the place. They were crawling on my family member. I have voice messages recorded from rude nurses. I have videos of nurses and how they spoke to my family member. I have witnesses to what I heard and saw. I am reporting and showing everything to the State Board. They also show no compassion when a family member passes away. All they want is for their belongings to be moved out within 24 hours and they want the final bill paid immediately. Also - if you try talking to any of the directors, they are always conveniently in a meeting and can't be bothered.

My mother has been a resident at Clare Oaks for several years now, and until this past year have had no problems at all. In the past year, besides items going missing (told accidently thrown out and similar stories) have been frequently harassed by [name removed] regarding threats of paying more money or kicking my mother out. Being on Medicare and Medicaid, has not stopped her demands. Having her social security directed to Clare Oaks, is not sufficient. Yet again am getting threatening letters (and there was never a polite one to start with from this...person) demanding more money which doesn't exist, be sent to them, else my mother will be set out on the street. I cannot believe any place expected to care for a loved one, to be treated like this, and as I am thousands of miles away, being given deadlines of days in which to provide funds that do not exist, my reactions are not of the most kindly thought out. Be cautious when putting your own family in their care, else may happen to you as well.

If you're looking for a nice place to live and don't need to interact with their admin folks or managers at the health center, then this is a great place, even though it's on the expensive side. If, however, you're looking for a well run facility with staff that is responsive and is resident/patient focused, you're in for disappointment. For the money you're spending, they should be MUCH better. When they make a mistake, they'll say anything to your face to get away from you, but then they don't follow up or make any effort to resolve the issue.

The assisted living and memory care units are very poorly staffed. Never enough aides or nurses to properly assist these residents. Especially the memory care, Clare Bridge. The Clare Bridge program is NOT being offered. The residents are just sitting around with aides that are sitting around discussing their day, loudly and culturally. It's really sad. The brochure and tour are not what is truly offered there. Please REALLY check it out before spending enormous amounts of money for very little care and lies about what is offered. Staff who are disorderly or show attitude. They are not given corrective action because of the color of their skin and the possibility of the persons using the term racist not to mention Brookdale can't afford to lose a warm body for staffing. Very few that are hired stay now they can't even get applicants in the door.

My mom has been living in the memory care unit at the waterway for 15 months. Her care was very good when she first moved in but about 6 months in it took a nose dive. The level of care from the paid employees as well as the director, med tech and nurse on call is poor at best. You can walk in at any time of day or night and find employees grouped together and talking amongst themselves while residents are left unattended and uncared for. I had to hire a private care giver to come every morning and bathe her and help her get dressed after repeatedly asking the director to address her needs. As her incontinence has increased, I have come to her room to find her sitting in wet clothing and her room needing to be cleaned. To find her caregiver for help in attending her is also a chore. Recently the med tech called me at 6:00pm Friday evening to tell me she needed to see a doctor and even said they had noticed the problem that morning. I am moving her out ASAP. I'm sure it is a great place to live if you are looking for independent or assisted living, but the memory care unit care is abysmal.

As a Nurse Practitioner, I would never recommend this facility. My Mom spent 4 weeks for rehab after fracturing her femur in the Park Lane section. . The PT & OT were outstanding! The facility was clean & very nice with large private rooms & nice furniture. The downside was the nursing care. Never enough help especially at night. Sometimes it would take an hour to have someone come after ringing for the nurse. If my Mom rang for assistance to the bathroom, it may take an hour for someone to come. Several times she was placed on a bedpan for nearly an hour because the staff would tell her to ring when she was done but they took their good old time. She learned quickly not to wait too long if she needed bathroom assistance. The food was also terrible which we had heard prior to her admission but we thought if everything else was quality, we could bring lunch & dinner to her everyday since we would be visiting. The food was all prepared meals brought in from another building which they then microwaved to reheat. Mostly dry and overlooked food. You can never leave a loved one in a nursing facility without someone checking on them. Also, at my request, the Director of Nursing met with me prior to my Mom being admitted. We reviewed her insurance coverage and any co-pay or deductibles. She informed me that there were no costs to my Mom as her insurance covered 100% of all costs. Three months after discharge, she received a bill for several thousand dollars. I called the billing office & they stated that this was her deductible and would not offer a payment plan. .

If you care about your loved one in memory care, I strongly recommend installing a camera. In my experience, the staff often told me what they thought I wanted to hear, but their actions did not match their words. For example, an aide threw away my mother’s dentures. I was not notified until three days later. Thankfully, I had a camera and was able to go back and see exactly when it happened. There were also serious communication and care issues. The after-hours nurse frequently did not answer the phone, and when I tried to access the camera late at night, it appeared that no one was monitoring things. On several occasions, aides would come in around 2:00 a.m., yell my mother’s name to wake her up, and say they were checking her, but they would leave without actually checking her. Another nurse misplaced my mother’s prescriptions, yet I was still being charged for medications. When my mother was later moved to a facility in Texas, the head nurse told them that my mother “yells,” which is simply not true. My mother never raised her voice. She was only at Rose for about three months as a temporary stay until I could move her closer to family in Texas. To make matters worse, the director of memory care even asked me if my mother really needed her dentures. Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing and concerning. Families trust memory care facilities to treat their loved ones with dignity, attentiveness, and proper communication. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

Dad moved in on a Friday coming straight from the hospital with a pretty bad open wound that was bandaged. This was dad's very first day. The building and nurses were told dad's bandages had to be changed TWICE A DAY! I went away for the weekend and when I visited dad on Monday, the same cruddy bandage that dad came in with on Friday was still on him. I was angry and immediately moved dad out. What this place says and what this place does are 2 different stories. I DO NOT EVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

Chronic issues with understaffing & turn Over. Focus was the longer term independent permanent residents for whom a huge remodeling& new structures were being built forcing the seriously dependent residents to not have convenient access to outdoors, fewer socializing activities, food was more bland in this area. Resident was not bathed often enough, etc. Well the most important oversight was their failure to report a fall which is a legal requirement. I would not place someone needing memory care or have any chronic mental disorder-Alzheimer's, prefrontal cortex issues, Lewi Body, etc. Also it was difficult to reach staff.

What stood out most is the missed medications, dressings not changed. The nursing staff is not good. Food is not great. The laundry was not done weekly as promised. They did not deliver on what was promised during our tour. The poor nursing care was our main reason for moving our loved one out.

They are not qualified to deal with Parkinson's patients, even though they say they are! In my opinion, the assisted living model is a farce and the general quality of care for those who are walker and wheel chair dependent is grossly inadequate. They over promised and severely undelivered on every aspect of my mothers care. She was forgotten and suffered many bruises and definitely suffered mentally under their care - and my mother never suffered mentally previously. It's a for profit business, not a caregiving facility.

Extremely disappointed by the lack of communication and oversight from care leadership ([name removed] & [name removed]). Despite repeated calls, texts, voicemails, and in-person visits, we’ve received no response. We scheduled one in-person meeting with the assistant to the care director, who set the date and time—but she never showed up, never called to cancel or reschedule. No effort has been made by the care team to address our ongoing care concerns. We also attempted to escalate our concerns to the facility director([name removed]), but she refused to meet with us, stating that care-related issues must be handled by the care team. When we explained that the care team had been entirely unresponsive, she still declined to get involved and insisted we continue trying to resolve the matter with the same team that had not returned any of our outreach. Care, at best, has been unreliable/inconsistent-both the services included in rent and those we pay extra for. During an extended stay, I documented my parents care and was shocked when 48 hours had passed without staff checking in or providing basic support. During that same stay I documented that the average time between staff check ins is 6.33 hours and 87% of services we pay extra for were not performed - only 23% of this was my parents refusing the services. We’ve also identified three serious care failures: T2 medication given despite knowing our step-mom routinely refuses 3 or more consecutive meals, injections nearly administered in error to my father, an Alzheimer’s patient—only stopped when, at the last second, the staff realized he was not the correct recipient—and unauthorized blood draws performed without our knowledge or consent. These were not isolated incidents—they, as well as many others, were observed firsthand over the course of a few weeks spent in the apartment, raising serious concerns about safety, communication, and accountability of the care staff at this facility.

As a nurse practitioner, and an advocate for my parents, both who are suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, I would not recommend The Clarendale- Clayton for memory care or assisted living, we were told that our dad was found on Hanley Road by a visitor as he escaped from the assisted-living community. Additionally, our mother was scared and wanted to leave after months in memory care. We were we received a refund from the parent company over The Clarendale because our concerns were founded.

My aunt should've been assessed to see if she was appropriate for independent. She wasn't. So I needed to move her to their assisted or take her out, but I still pay for another 30 days because I couldn't obviously give a 30 day notice. I heard that happened to 2 other families. They get you in the door, then double the rate for assisted. A RN could've done a 10 minute cognitive test and saved me a lot of trouble. I put my aunt through 2 moves within 3 weeks. I don't live with my aunt. I didn't realize she needed assistance. [name removed], the intake guy, definitely knew aunt was forgetful but he felt she'd be ok after settled. She got worse. [name removed] avoided me. Administration said it was all in the (50page) contract

Please do not send your loved ones to Assisted Living or Memory Care at Delaney at the Green. You will see a beautiful facility, but behind the scenes you will find a care team that consistently makes decision that are not in the best interest of the patient. My father was the very first assisted living resident, moving into Delaney in [date removed]. He has Primary Progressive Aphasia due to Alzheimer's at the young age of 74. Everyone assured me that he was a great fit for assisted living and he came in needing level 1 support. Thankfully, as he has progressed, his memory is still in tact, but he continues to struggle with communication. Please get in touch if you would like more information, but we are now forced to find a new place for my father. This is really sad to have to move him at this point in his disease, but they are forcing us to pay $[fee removed] per month for him to stay as they are requiring 1v1 care which medical professionals say that he doesn't need.

Hi .. review is not good! Construction from day 1 until my aunt left at the end of the 30 day trial … ... they never told us that the family visiting country kitchen area was being demolished, or the room above her jack hammering , her kitchen sink & bathroom had cold water for 3 weeks , aids didn't want [name removed] to ring the help button & they would come 40 minutes later... [name removed] tge director did tell the aids the button is to be used for any needs she had not just for emergencies …..but they ignored her buzzer …the nursing desk was moody & not polite .....But the dining room group was fabulous & tried to give my aunt what ever she needed .. if you have a older family member that wants to be active and go to the dining room and do all the trips and functions then ot will be adequate.. if you have someone that wants to eat in their room and needs help with either walking , wheelchair or legs being wrapped. It is not a place for that.
