I had recently taken a tour of this community and I have no complaints of how things had went. The staff where on time to our appointment and made sure to answer any questions I had for them in detail. I liked that they had an open floor plan and it was easy to navigate through. The facility is a newer one so a lot of things are just not finished yet.

I had a nice tour of this community the staff answered my questions and did great on showing me around. I felt that the rooms were a bit small and I was not sure that it would be a good fit for my mom.

I moved into Bellingham 5 months ago and I am very happy with my decision. The grounds are gorgeous and the quality and variety of the food is tremendous. Overwhelmingly, Bellingham has the friendliest staff and residents of any community I have been to.

The rooms were smaller at this community. The community is clean. The person that conducted the tour did seem pushy and I could not get my questions answered. They also have different levels of care and the price increases as the levels of care change.

It offered the exact thing I wanted. I was really interested in Aging in place, and they really had the whole package. I wasn't aware until I got there that there was a buy-in. The biggest thing I don't like is when they ring the doorbell and they run off, and leave the food sitting on the floor.

To be completely honest, I loved what I saw on my tour with the Executive Chef, as I have a culinary arts degree. I was rather disappointed that I arrived to find that my appointment had not been confirmed as the website A Place for Mom had suggested....this is not the only place I showed up without an appointment. I was totally impressed with their facility. The Chef could not answer most of my questions, he was taking me on a tour since everyone else was in a class. Seriously, not the fault of anyone except A Place for Mom. He was kind and answered all my questions as best as he could, and was so nice to print off the weekly menu for me because both my parents have dementia and getting them to eat is really an obstacle! I would have loved for my parents to have stayed here if it was closer to my home and I knew what exactly the fees were. It is possible that I did miss a call from this place due to the fact that I had to return to NC to take care of my parents. I did use my Clearwater home phone # as my contact.

There are many very good things to say about this facility. They are all in the company's brochure and do not need repeating here. Rather, I will focus on those things that can be improved upon. More encouragement from staff, perhaps even taking a firm lead, to get residents to attend activities suitable for their individual requirements/abilities/tastes. This would include the "take a stroll outdoors" events, especially for those with limited mobility or eyesight. I have heard residents respond to the question "How are you today?" with "I'm bored." "All I do is sit in my room and watch TV." "The nurse asked me 'what I want to do today' I said, go home." Strive to eliminate all negative responses to such questions. Yes, we're in Florida, but is it a requirement that all aides work on Florida Time? Step lively folks! At least give the impression that you like your work and are seriously interested in helping people who can no longer entirely take care of themselves. WAIT!!! How about thinking about whether you would be happy with your level of service when you reach your clients' age?

So far so good - Love the place. Mom was very scared initially. Since her husband of 72 years passed in April she is lost without him. She has Alzheimers, but appears to be settling in. For the price I would strongly recommend Eastcastle. Everyone has been courteous and helpful

I think it's horribly expensive but it's comparable to everything around it so I guess it's fair. They have group exercise, movies, cards and games, and a group outing but they are not always happening when they say they're going to happen. My mother doesn't like the food but my father seems satisfied with it.

Follow up constantly to see that the written menu and activity calendar reflect the daily living experience as that was not the case for the month my husband was a resident. The air conditioning was not working and took weeks to fix as well.

I picked this place for my Mom. The salesperson said they had live entertainment 5 days a week. It is more like once a month and it Is very good. I still would have picked Delaney, but why the lie? The promised landline is useless. The second I connected it, there were endless sales calls target to the elderly. When I informed the salesperson of this she disabled incoming calls....without telling me. Later, even outgoing calls were disabled. Fortunately, Mom has learned how to use a flip phone. I don't remember anything in the documentation about a $[removed] charge for bringing a meal to the room. She also said the $[removed] monthly fee for the Guardian Pharmacy was only if you didn't use Guardian Pharmacy. I doubt that is true. I will find out in a month at which time I will change pharmacies...unless I missed something in the small print that I can't.

Everything except for the care was very good .. food excellent. Good variety Facility was clean Activities were a good mix for ability levels However the care was disappointing The caregivers did not give medications safely which I witnessed multiple times and reported to the nurse the nursing staff did not routinely assess my mother even when the staff reported she was not doing well There was no follow up with me when my mom was sent to the hospital which was extremely disappointing and I had to correct medication errors The caregivers were understaffed for the acuity of residents that were allowed to live in the type of building my mother was in. Recommending would depend on the your level of acuity and needs

I can tell you that the clarendale of Addison did their best to accommodate the extreme needs of my mom and dad. However, my dad had to have outpatient antibiotic treatment and was out of his room for 42 days. They made me pay for that empty room, I don't think that's right. Also he just transferred out a couple weeks ago and I went 9 days over the month because we were trying to find another place that would accept him because clarendale did not have sufficient help for him. I told him I wouldn't pay for the nine days so then they took it off the bill, and that made me mad because why ask for it in the first place? But other than that everything was pretty good

Staffing for assistance and nursing is barely adequate. Sometimes long 15 to 25 minute waits. Plenty of activities for bored residents. OT is very good. They bring in good nurses and PT from outside. Food is fair to good. Place is well kept and clean.

My family was satisfied with room size & accommodations in assisted care. We are concerned at times regarding his care since he was moved to memory care. We were told he would get more care but at times have observed less care. Our biggest problem is finding staff, administrators to talk to regarding this problem. He doesn't participate in activities even though staff have encouraged it. He is not a social person so that's not an issue. He does require more help with bathroom issues. He doesn't know how to operate the TV. He has portable oxygen that needs to be charged. We have found it not to be plugged in after use therefore not charged. Today was a nice day. He was showered, dressed etc.

Lack of security. Very depressing and dates environment. The staff was lovely but the overall experience was depressing.

I think it depends on the needs of the family. Overall these are the things that are excellent : Laundry , housekeeping , dining , and the medical care that is actually important. Some of the activities are excellent like the cardio pool and the musical guests etc and some are just okay. The beauty salon is fantastic . They have a podiatrist and she had pt ot speech that seemed to help. The CNA s were the pinch point . Some are fantastic and loving and some are not. Because of her dementia she needs 100% attentiveness and she is incapable of asking for her things herself. Aside from the dementia she is physically so strong so unless you understand dementia she is one that can easily be overlooked. So my negative comments were more for dementia.

They are short staffed so things have fallen through the cracks. When we looked at the place they talked up their food and that they had a chef. The food is always cold because they bring it up to the 3rd floor. Dad has a bedroom, living room and bathroom which is a really good size. It is clean. There are issues with the call button - it takes them 15 minutes or longer to answer or come to his room.

Staff is very nice & helpful; no activities; food ok; villa very good.

The staff was not prepared for the level of care that my mother needed. Everytime something happened, they sent her to the hospital. They blamed her bed for her falls when she was falling in the bedroom. The last fall in 3 months (3 in 4 months - all to the ER) I believe was caused by my mother tripping over a mat that was put at the side of her bed. She tripped on the mat and landed face-first into the rail that they approved for her bed. My mother is incredibly active and fast. They kept her in a wheel chair most of the day or on a couch. The administrator of her area complained to me that her staff was having to watch my mother. I thought that was their job. I went to her room to get her clothing because my mother is currently in hospice. The room smelled horrible. I found urine and feces in the toilet. I also found a plastic cup on the counter with feces in it. There was also feces in the bathroom sink. I took pictures.
