No issues with staff, they all do their jobs, as you know the construction is getting really ridiculous. If it's not one thing it's another. Yet thy are talking about raising the cost over there. Not too happy on how they treat a 95 year old with all the inconveniences.

To be honest. We didn't have the best experience. My parents left after 4/5 months. Partially was my folks they found it very depressing there. But the food went down hill, they weren't very helpful, everything took a long time to fix or get help, we could make the internet work consistently for over a month. Things we thought were included, were not. Such as someone to call for help after normal business hours.

It was very poorly run. Person in charge of dining room was frantic. There was the promise that my mom would be supported by other residents, and a bunch of mistakes made.. kept charging after we left... not a good experience.

Watch out and ask lots of questions. Check out the answers, they misled us. Food service is good. Apartment sizes are ok, but be careful.

My husband is a resident of the memory care unit. The facility and grounds are beautiful giving the impression of a high standard of care. However, there is a great difference between the assisted living and memory care. I generally think that the staff are friendly but unfortunately lacking in training for dementia residents. I have observed a lack of follow through in providing ADL assistance. The first week my husband was there, he developed a facial dermatitis from lack of assistance in washing his face. There is a situation of some residents entering into other resident’s rooms and causing anxiety and this does not appear to be being addressed. There is not strong adherence to the care delineated in the resident service plan. I have repeatedly voiced my concerns to the memory care director and am not seeing a clear improvement.

As a resident, one gets to experience both the good and bad; no place is perfect. Good: DATV is s beautiful building with large units. Staff are pleasant, and the new Executive Director is working hard to fix issues & improve the resident experience. The bad: It's a new building with a lot of bugs still to be worked out. Heating issues continue to pop up - over 3 weeks to fix and the hallway is still 57 degrees. My wifi has broken twice, and remains broken now, but they gave me a temp work around on that. There have been other problems as well, so they have to play whack a mole with those constantly. You hear the people upstairs. The food: not good. Edible? Yes, but it's cheap, repetitive, boring, heavy on saturated fats, carbs, & sodium. They really can't accommodate special diets, unless you eat the same thing every day. Little has improved despite complaints. There are mice in the dining room. Some are considering moving as they are not delivering on what they are marketing.

The staff are lazy and indifferent to residents. Some of them are just plain mean.

8 hour shifts instead of 12 hour shifts. Have activities for the residents which they were just starting when we left. Snacks for the residents between meals. Better care with the residents personal items especially when names are on everything. Watch residents more carefully so when you walk into the room there isn't someone else sleeping in the bed and they had no idea where that resident was. I had to complain about 2 aides because of how they talked to me and a resident and how an aide shoved a resident in to a chair for dinner. Administration staff was good. I left there at times very stressed.

Frequently got broom and swept his room as floor was dirty. Laundry was lost and other peoples stuff came to us. I was there most afternoons and no one came every 2 hours to take him to bathroom so my Husband, his clothes and bed were found wet. When laundry was returned clothes were shoved in cabinet in stead of hanging things up. Then there was when he became agitated and started cussing. They didn’t asses possible reasons or triggers, as I had been telling them he was getting more confused …such as illnesses: UTI, elevated ammonia level, lactic acidosis were the diagnosis’ he received when taken to ER for behavioral issues. Then I was embarrassed at the ER when the doctor told me that Clarendale would not accept him back. But the managers who made these decisions should have communicated with me. Also, we have been waiting for our refund for a couple weeks now.

We only looked at two places in this was the best of the two. I am frustrated because the first week we got there. The ownership changed hands and there were some issues they weren't fixing in the place. Now I'm running into problems with accounting where they're giving me a bill last month and not providing any details on where to send a payment and who to make the checks out to. And they were charging the $[removed] deposit that we already paid. I called their accounting departments about five or six times Since and now we just got another bill and they're charging us $[removed] late fee and cannot get a hold of anybody to discuss with. Overall, it's not a bad place, we're just trying to get these things worked out and they have worked out the maintenance stuff since. The billing stuff is just still hanging. I hope and fairly confident they will make it right.

People living at the Avalon seem to be all nice people. Mom has made a few relatively close friends. I better leave it at that .

It was not a great experience. There were a couple experienced and kind caregivers but the rest were a revolving door of inexperienced staff that sat around on their phones. The management and nursing staff were very inexperienced and unprofessional at times as well. They handled several situations terribly and should have known better. It was incredibly stressful having our family member at this facility. Things sold to us when we toured the facility were not truly how it was run afterwards. Our experience was mostly in the memory care area, so we can only speak to that. Overall VERY inexperience staff handling the memory care unit. Thankfully there were two memory care staff members that had some experience and knowledge with Alzheimer's. We moved our family member to another memory care facility and the difference in their experience level was shocking. Would not recommend Avalon Memory Care.

My mother has been a resident here for 12 years and has spent the last week in the skilled nursing facility after a knee replacement. I call her every morning and half the time she’s crying because they take so long to get her pain meds to her. We called and talked to the charge nurse and agreed she’d get pain meds by 7am every morning. It’s was 9:30 when I called and no meds. They ignore her calling for assistance or take hours to respond. On top of that, she got no dinner the other night and wrote ‘no eggs’ all over her menus request last night and got eggs this morning. Not sure what is going on at this facility but there’s a real issue with competence and attitudes. I would steer clear of this place

We moved our mother into Independent Living then unfortunately an injury led her to the Freedom Square Rehab, the ALF, and a few horrific nights in the nursing home when returning from a hospital stay. When you pay to "join" the CCRC, it really does nothing except lower your payment a small fraction if you need advanced care. I needed to help my mother regularly at the ALF because the staff did not properly care for her. A few staff members were kind, most were not. When my mother's hip dislocated, the nurse told her to "stop whining." There is no advantage to the CCRC and we lost over [price removed] when I moved my mom out of a place that was not properly staffed and lacking in quality care...a high cost for an agonizing experience and grateful we no longer have any association with Freedom Square.

My mom has lived there for a few years. When first moved in the food and service was very good over the years a massive decline. Seniors look forward to the joining friends over a meal. I visit my mom and eat with her the food selection is diminished and service is awful. Recently another resident who was there under a year is moving out due to the food quality The food is a complaint daily with the residents. I have sat with them and experienced this. They are constantly running out of food and use the excuse of vendor delivery. The daily selection is very minimal. Seniors enjoy fellowship over Meals. If food is important to your loved one this is not the place. We are stuck here my mom loves her friends and at her age a move wouldn't be the best for her.

We saw fairly good reviews before moving in, but that was not our experience. My family members moved in and their apartment was not prepared for them. Since it was the weekend , they received little help. After a couple weeks of pushing for repairs, the apartment was satisfactory including working appliances. The facility struggles with retaining. staff even at the higher levels. Receptionists were a great source of communication. Costs continue to rise with petty fees for food and package delivery to the apartment. Agreement honesty is not a strong quality. My family’s moved recently after 16 months and regretted waiting. It may be a cheaper facility but not worth the stress Look on…..

The people in charge are very nice and helpful but they really need more help The head nurse is very helpful her name is Samantha but I don't think there are any A one places out there.

I felt that my parents received good care from the practitioners at Monarch Landing and the Springs. Mom and Dad were treated well and the caretakers were supportive and kind. Less enthralled with the business office. After BOTH of my parents passed within a few months of each other, I have had a running dispute around invoices appearing 5 months after the fact, stray, unexplained charges and misleading responses. In fact, I cut off the auto-debit from my parents' account since I could not get any worthwhile response from the Accounting group. So while they care about your family. The folks at the Springs and Monarch Landing care equally about your money -- and extracting it from you with little to no explanation. Not good.

moved in here August 2019, at first it was great when it was Brookdale, then it was sold 1/2020..since then quality has taken a huge dive. The food quality and selection is poor, the new “chef” needs to go.. some selections are just even worse than poor in temperature and taste. But one thing that is prevalent: EXCUSES. The cleaning services are poor, huge turnover in staff due mostly to low pay is what employees say ; do not expect a thorough cleaning. in 4 years, deep cleaning has not been done, so this service has not been fulfilled as promised.Weekly cleaning is not what you may expect. The dept managers do not like complainers, you’ll get a label so new people are afraid to say anything. windows in condos leak with rain, yet we are told no glass available to replace the older windows. Luckily ours were replaced prior to move in. Lots of Mold, asked for our pipes to be cleaned, packed with mold which had been making me sick…filters were black. lots of mold in staircases.

The Clarendale at Indian Lake is a nice place to live except for the dining room experience. We moved in July 2019. The place is kept nice and clean, and the grounds are well kept up. The only downside is that dining room management Does not really listen to the residence. Suggestions.
