The staff were friendly and attentive, but at times overworked. The quality of the food was better than where my loved one was before. The facility was good overall, although I was put off by ongoing construction. Finding parking was a challenge, as was continual noise outside my loved one's room. And there was no end date given for when that would be completed.

We really like the spaciousness and openness of the community

I toured this community and was very underwhelmed. I got a sense that they were more interested in Independent Living than Assisted Living. It felt very corporate to me.

My loved one was there for respite care, and needed nursing care. The food was horrible, and was not appropriate for a diabetic They messed up our billing, and they were supposed to do an auto draft, and they did it later, and they overcharged me. They messed up big time. They did not update me on the level of care that my loved one was receiving. A caregiver was rude, and yelled at my loved one. There was not a coordinated effort with the medication. The people are very enthusiastic but not very welll trained. The nurse practitioner who administered the medical care was excellent.

They are very well-intentioned but don't do as well in execution. Lots of confusion and turnover of people. My Dad says food is horrible and he does not participate in activities. Only about half full.

The implementation team was good. Housekeeping is very friendly. The Doctor is okay. The medical office staff is not responsive, but the front staff is friendly.

Some very good friends of mine live there in INDEPENDENT LIVING. They pay around $[amount removed]/month and are supposed to get weekly cleaning. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. But when they do, it's rarely the same person, then they don't clean very well. Last week the bathroom counter was NOT cleaned at all. She was only there 30 minutes, so how could she? I helped my elderly friend by dusting, yuk it was so dusty and they have requested blinds to be repaired OVER a year ago and are told they have been ordered twice! Now somebody could just go to Home Depot, 1 mile away, but I guess because they are Elderly, they are ignored. I know they must be short on help as it took them 2 hours to get their food and eat in the Bistro and one of the management team was helping, but for $[amount rmoved]/month they shouldn't have to hire outside help to dust and clean bathrooms.

They need more staff. Hopefully when the renovations are complete, things will be better there.

We toured Clarendale at Bellevue Place and we knew none of the people beforehand, we had no previous contact with any of them. We chose another community because of it's homey atmosphere; the people have been great and we've had no complications in working with them. My loved one has appreciated the attention she's gotten. She likes the food overall, which has been good. Clarendale was a very nice facility, but it doesn't have that homey atmosphere that the community we chose has. The people there were nice, it just didn't have the feeling we wanted for our loved one. There may be people out there who might feel the complete opposite, but this was just our experience and preference. It just didn't fit us.

They do need to hire more staff -they are extremely understaffed which is the biggest problem. The quality of food is not good either, they are not providing well balanced meals for seniors.

Day staff was great, evening staff not as much. The evening staff seemed to be younger and not as experienced and compassionate. The facility was pretty clean in general, but mom's room was never as clean as it should have been. There were a couple of aides that went out of their way to clean and do extra things for mom. They had to move aides around on different floors/levels of care during Covid outbreaks and some of the staff was very overwhelmed and didn't know how to perform on different floors. In general, they provided adequate care for my mom. The nurses were good, but could have been better. My mom didn't always want to go for meals, sometimes she wasn't hungry. In those cases, they would bring her a meal and charge extra for it. We didn't know that at first, but eventually discovered the charge. The meals they brought to her didn't always follow her needs, ie: they would bring her bacon and she has high blood pressure and it would cause swelling. Or they would bring things she wouldn't eat, but would be charged for. They weren't clear about what the levels of care included, even when I asked. Independent living I would recommend, but assisted living I would not. The administration was never good about returning phone calls. We also never received condolences or any contact from them at all after mom's passing.

This is a new community that is clean and very nice. The attentiveness of the staff in regards to the memory care residents, leaves a little to be desired. There seems to be a lot of agency staff and they don't get to know the residents, or care for the residents in making sure they are dry and clean. I was expecting more permanent staff in the community for the price I'm paying each month. The community works well with hospice.

Freedom Square was an older facility that was not nearly as nice and some of the others places that we were looking at. I had also heard they had a lot of covid cases a few months before which made us hesitant to move our loved one here.

The marketing team at Freedom Village can be summed up in many words, but exceptional is one word that best describes it best. They are just great. They will do everything possible to ease the pain of moving. The minute you move in the perks will start. A knock on your door with an apple pie with napkins., plates and silverware is just the beginning. Your neighbor across the isle may very well drop off some cookies. They give you a name tag with a green ribbon. Everyone who sees you wearing such will stop you and a smile and a handshake Will follow with the words welcome. There is always a party on somewhere with s beer , wine, or a cocktail Within a hands grasp. This may very well be the closest you will ever be here on earth. You will love it here. It is an exceptional place to live.

This was nice, but it was larger with more residents.

When we pulled up my mom did not like the overall look of the facility. We came in for our tour appointment and they were late and never apologized for it. The main thing that my mom did not like was independent living was not on the first floor, so you had to take and elevator or the stairs to get to it which was a deal breaker.

This review is strictly for the memory care portion of the facility. They are very understaffed and they do not seem to get quality help that stays. That has a lot to do with keeping up with quality of care for the residents. Starting April 1st they are starting with a new food company, so we are hoping to see improvements. But the food right now is not good. A new administrator started February 1st, so there have been some good changes since she has taken over. I would recommend them to others but make sure to still be involved and advocate for your loved ones.

Based on our tour at Heritage Village, it did not seem like a caring atmosphere. They said they check on the residents every so often, which would not have been ideal with my loved one's health condition. They just didn't seem to provide the level of attentiveness we were looking for and observed elsewhere.
