My dad has adjusted well at Harbour Village. My dad has never been a real social person, but since he's been there, he's doing both inside and outside activities, even kickball. They gave him the opportunity to do extra curricular activities which I'm very happy about. The staff is fabulous. My dad thinks the world of them. They are jovial, and very attentive to him and how he's feeling. I'm satisfied overall.

My siblings and I chose Harbour Village in Greendale because it is a community where our parents can share the same apartment, with mom living independently, while dad receives assisted care (he suffers from dementia). My parents left their homestead of 52 years and it was important that we find a place where they will experience all of the warmth and comforts of 'home'.

Where do we start? Melissa listened to our need and from what she had she reommended three Senior Living Communities and even arranged meetings with the centers' administrators. We selected Sterling because it was just the perfect center. We would recommended a "Place for Mom" for any family searching for the best senior living for their parentants.

For Alzheimers and Dementia care they only have a high functioning unit...if the patient is a behavioral problem and/or needs more intensive personal care due to their disease..they place the patient on the skilled nursing unit upstairs where they dont get the dementia care programming....then it's just like any other nursing home...the high functioning unit is the best in the area though as far as sizes of the room, cleanliness, staffing, appearance of the unit etc...good caring staff

Great location and friendly service. Move in coordinator does a great job of not only moving the resident in but also continues to help with any other issues as well. Medical staff does a great job. Overall great experience for my mother.

Great people, great location, and great Staff. It is early in the game for Mom, and we pray that all goes well. I do strongly believe in our decision to place her at Eastcastle.

The location is beautiful; my mom's apartment looks out over the Woodlands waterway. I am sure in time she will enjoy her daily sunset. Her one bedroom/one bath home is very livable. Her only complaint has been that not all of her stuff fits into the new place. (She had a two bedroom/2 bath apartment before this move; she is very possessive of her "things" and is reluctant to give anything away.) Her closet is much better than the one she had. The maintenance man added an extra closet rod to the closet before she moved in. He was very helpful in disposing of the empty boxes and paper. I have noticed that the residents seem very involved with the activities and can be seen during the day doing things; in other words, they are not just staying in their homes till dinner time. The twice a week art classes really interested my mom. Once she is settled, I am sure she will enjoy her new location.

Everyone at Bellingham has been very helpful. I haven't moved in yet but, I am pleased with the apartment . I visited a few other places....one was way too small and one wasn't receptive to the fact that I am in an electric wheelchair. Their bus didn't accommodate a wheelchair because it was independent living...I am very independent and need no help taking care of myself. They certainly made me unexceptable as a resident. Bellingham have been completely opposite.

I think they are wonderful. It is a good deal. I haven't really done many activities because my husband has been sick, but there are a lot of the people are doing the activities. The food is very good! It is independent living, but you can get care. A lot of the people have people taking care of them. Some people can't stay alone and the care they get seems to be very nice. And then, my husband had physical therapy occupational therapy, and speech therapy. Richmond place has it's own home health agency, although they couldn't help me until I had referral from a primary care doctor. They don't make the decision, they get in touch with the doctor and are sort of a go between. I've been having trouble recently and they have been professional and friendly. A lot of people are on walkers or motorized vehicles like my husband, and I like that. I have heard other people say it's the nicest place in town.

They had nice apartments and a lot of activities, it was big like six floors and two big buildings. It was kind of nice that you could tell what was going on for activities because they put them on T.V. instead of having to read a board in the hall. They had good food with a big salad bar.

We really like the facility, we have had some glitches getting her room set up and things, but overall it is very good. They have both continuing care and life care, and the price will vary based on the size of the unit.

While my mother was reluctant to go to senior living, we talked her into it with the promise that she still had her house, we hadn't yet sold it, and she could come home of she so desired. Weeks one and two were an adjustment, for all of us, but we managed Weeks three and four were constant complaints that made no sense, items that were fully rectifiable if mom called the front desks and asked for help. Since then it's been smooth sailing. The staff really cares, the accommodations are beautiful, and the only continuing complaint my mother has is that if she waits too long to eat dinner, some of the popular items are gone. All in all, I would recommend Bellingham to anyone. It's a beautiful facility, filled with caring, kind and compassionate people.

We are extremely pleased with the facility, the staff, the FOOD, the activities and the size of the units. We are convinced we made the right choice (since May 25)

We needed respite care and South Port Square had availability. We had only looked at one other facility that offered respite care and found South Port Square was much nicer and cheaper. The biggest factor in choosing them was they had availability, we would definitely use them again if needed. I had one gripe in that the carpet in my mom's apartment was too plush to easily maneuver a walker or wheelchair. The hallway's carpet was much better for walkers and wheelchairs. Also, it seemed the bathrooms in her apartment weren't wide enough for her to maneuver a walker in; something we didn't realize until after moving her in.

Overall it's a good facility. Clean and well run. Some staff is absolutely amazing, one or 2 not so much. The food is good.

Havenwood is a clean, well cared for facility. The staff are friendly and helpful. There are activities available daily,weekly, and special activities. The food could be less salty and hotter when served.There are different tiers of care available depending on needs. Overall a good facility for different levels of care.

No one is perfect, but this place is great. My entrance door from the hallway enters the right side of the kitchen. The kitchen, dining, and living area is 16x25 ft. The kitchen has plenty of cabinet and counter space. It is equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, gas stove, and a large stainless steel refrigerator/freezer. The freezer is a pullout drawer below the fridge, and has an ice maker inside. I also have a dining table with four chairs, and plenty of open space in the kitchen area. The left side of the living room area has a stuffed chair with ottoman and a three seat couch with end table and coffee table. Across from the couch is a 40 inch TV, a 3x6 foot display case with family treasures and memories, and a small antique oak cabinet. The kitchen also has doors to a coat closet and a laundry/storage room, which is equipped with side by side washer and dryer. (I call this my basement.) By the way, all appliances in the kitchen and laundry room come with the apartment. My bedroom/office has a queen size bed, a closet about 2 feet longer than the bed, and a small dresser with a mirror. The office area is against the wall across from the foot of the bed. It has a 4-1/2 by 2-1/2 ft. desk and a file cabinet. The bathroom is next to the bedroom. It has a walk in shower with cloth and plastic curtains, six small shelves for soap, shampoo and other shower needs. It does not have a seat, but has safety bars all around the wall. The toilet also has bars around it. There is no bathtub. The bathroom counter is 2x4 feet with a large single handle sink. It has double doors under the sink and three drawers to the right. At the right end of the counter is a 2-door cabinet 7 feet tall

Like anything new, the newness wears off and one sees things a little differently. I still have a positive view but I see things that need improving. Most staff go out of their way to do a good job and are friendly. Other residents say hello or hi and use your name, if they know it, as we pass in the hall. Food is excellent. Cleaning lady comes bi-weekly and does an excellent job. 2BR2Bath apt is smaller than I was used to. I would prefer a larger 2nd BR that I converted to an office.

Mom opted for the larger sized single bedroom. The standard size was too small for her and a two bedroom was too expensive. She is under medication management due to previously abusing OTC medication. They do a good job of keeping her medications under control in spite of her insistence that she can do this for herself. All the staff are pleasant and helpful. [name removed] does an excellent job of trying to provide activities for the residents. They frequently get her out to events that she would not attend as she tends to self-isolate. Her apartment is kept relatively clean. They can't pick up after her messes multiple time a day but they do a good job.
