I recently toured the Clayton Clarendale facility, and was favorably impressed. It is clearly "above average." Most retirees would find it "very suitable."

Overall, the experience has been positive and we've received a lot of attention and care. However the dining room has problems. On a couple of occasions I have had to go find someone to wait on us after 25 minutes, the (good) food comes out cold (tonight for instance) and the staff seems overwhelmed.

My apartment is great . Everything was not ready when we moved in, so they were busy cleaning and attaching thermostat. The ladies I have met are very friendly and helpful. The staff is always pleasant and does their best to solve problems. I haven't needed personal care, but my observation is that helpers are very kind and attentive.

The facility was clean and nice though in some cases a bit dated. Staff was very friendly. The dining room at times became overly crowded with long weights for dinner. The room size and the amenities in the room were all good and at a reasonable price.

Apt size is great. We have a 2 bedroom, 2 Bath Apt with a patio & gate to exit from our apt. The staff is great always wanting to accommodate you. I miss outdoor trails and walking paths. Mostly stay inside. Not many outdoor sitting areas. The food is great. Dining floors should be mopped more often. Cleaning service in apts is very minimal every 2 weeks. We have been told a renovation is planned but I don't know when. Carpet is worn and a refresh is needed. Scuffed up doors & base boards should be retouched as some are marked up bad. Activities are minimal also. I have not participated much yet.

4 on all. No place can score perfect but this is close. You furnish the room yourself and they will hang tv, pictures, etc. Single rooms are 288 sq ft and have private bath. Cleaners come once a week. They do laundry, bed changes. You choose meals from a menu and food is excellent. Can be served in your room or dining room. Beer & wine available. Haven't participated in activities but there are plenty. The staff is always kind & attentive, always upbeat everyone seems happy. Surprisingly pleasant experience.

We have a good sized bedroom furniture in the along with a small table and chairs in the apartment. I think it's a good size for one person. The staff is very attentive to the residents with lots of activities. The food seems to be okay as Mom eats it. However, my sister did and reported back not real great. I have not eaten there. The building and the outdoor areas are well kept. If you see something and say something the staff immediately takes care of it.

Overall very good experience. Of course there are staffing problems like all places but they do well with who they have. A lot of variety of size of apts. well maintained. Good food

The rooms and the facility are just beautiful. Love the atmosphere love the cleanliness. For us personally, why I only gave it a four, is I'm not sure that they heard or understood the Care Mom was needing. Mom had Alzheimer's. She passed away in April, but she was at the point where she needed more Care than I think they were able to provide. Even though I went over the Care that she was going to need I still think I may have chosen the wrong facility for that type of care. Had Mom been able to do more for herself, I definitely would've gave this location of five.

Unfortunately, our experience has been frustrating in several areas. We have asked twice to have the ceiling fan in my dad’s room repaired, and it still has not been fixed. I have also had to call on multiple occasions to get his PRN medication when he needed it. Basic housekeeping has been another concern. I have had to find someone and specifically ask to have his bathroom cleaned, and this past weekend I actually had to find a broom myself so I could sweep the floor in his room. We have also shared concerns about the food. My dad does not like it, and he has mentioned this himself. I have brought it up as well, but we have not seen much improvement. Another disappointment has been the salon. Before my dad moved in, we specifically asked whether his granddaughter could use the on-site salon to cut his hair if he was unable to get to her shop. We were told that this would be possible, but we have since been told that it is not allowed. We wish that had been communicated accurately from the beginning. We understand that no facility is perfect, but these are basic services and expectations. We hope management will take these concerns seriously and work on improving communication, follow-through, housekeeping, medication requests, and overall resident care.

We really appreciated all the time staff members spent with us to understand the facility and services available for our parents. The facility looked great and we were not sure the facility was what we wanted for our parents. We did not want to have to separate them as was shared with us.

We were there for 4 months. The aides were capable and kind. His room had a nice view of the courtyard and there was plenty of room in the community for walking around. We were able to access the other dining rooms for meals when we had guests. We only left to relocate to another state

Overall, Broadway Cityview and specifically the apartment we are in is great. My wife and I are generally very happy. Staff and residents are very friendly and welcoming. Staff seem to know everyone by name and address them by name. I can’t really speak to the “care” provided since we are in independent living and receive no “care” per se. However, we both use exercise opportunities ( elliptical machine and exercise class). Facilities are clean and well managed. There are a lot of activities to choose from. I play games multiple times per week. My wife has participated in a few group events. There is always something going on if you want to participate. Staff who run the events are very friendly and enthusiastic. The grounds and interior are well kept (although I am not sure the courtyard grass is getting watered) and very clean. We had a small problem with some bugs when we first moved in and they came and sprayed and no more problem. Maintenance is fantastic. I have had a couple of requests (light bulbs, water temperature) and those are resolved same day. Maintenance staff are knowledgeable and very friendly. We are in the largest apartment available. The location and size are great. The apartment is cleaned once per week and although it is not cleaned as thorough as the lady we had come to our house once every three weeks (and spent most of the day cleaning), it is cleaned and vacuumed adequately. Cleaning staff are also very friendly and great. One of the major selling points for me in our decision to choose Broadway was their dining room. It is very nice and has plenty of tables. There are always fresh black napkins and flowers on the table and more silverware then you know what to do with. In the evening the tables have white tablecloths. Very welcoming. However, most residents we have talked to say the food has gotten worse over the past year or so. Food quality and taste vary day to day. Sometimes OK, other times food is not hot or tasty. Main problem is service in the dining room, especially in the evening. The servers work very hard and are very friendly and accommodating. I know that they have had problems keeping servers and the staff who are here are trying to handle more tables than they can adequately manage. At times it is 30 minutes before you get water or tea, much less having your order taken. Often it does take a long time for the food to come out after you order. Occasionally residents leave after an hour without getting food. The servers are very cautious about what they say but it appears that the problems are with the organization in the kitchen and the number of chefs. Again, this is primarily for the evening meals. I eat breakfast several times a week and the above comments do not apply. Management has assured me that they are aware of the issues with dining service and are working to resolve them. Several new servers have been hired and added to the staff which hopefully will solve one of the problems with dining services. Kitchen organization is an unknown to me so I do not know how or if that is being addressed. Overall, we are very happy at Broadway. They have been very accommodating to us and were able to get us into an apartment on a temporary basis after our house fire. We are blessed to be in this situation and are grateful to [name removed] the Executive Director and [name removed] and the sales team who made our transition to this place very smooth. Again, overall Broadway is a very nice and welcoming place. I have no hesitancy in recommending it.

The facilities, activities, food are all really nice. We are having a challenge getting my brother in law to socialize and engage more but he's content. I wish the staff checked on him a bit more. I think it would go along way toward getting him more engaged.

The place is really clean and the day time staff are really nice. I have heard from a number of people that the food could be better. The rooms are nice and kept up nicely.

Faculty was nice enough but a little too “stuffy” for our taste. We prefer casual over formal. We also felt it was more pricey than other facilities.

They are really great to work with and the facility is very clean and responsive to needs. Always available menu is great for when residents don't like what is on the menu for the day and the activities are endless....

We started in Assisted living and after MIL passed, moved my FIL to The independent side. Apartments are very nice and good sized. Staff caring and helpful- from caregivers up to the ED. No opinion about activities Good food options.
