While Windsor Senior Living of Bradenton seems to have some good attributes such as an aesthetically appealing facility, decent dining, and array of activities for the residences, the Administrative staff, specifically the Resident Director, in my opinion, needs disciplinary corrective action. From my perspective, The Resident Director is tarnishing the Legend brand and it's unfortunate Legend's has someone representing their brand that lacks the Emotional Intelligence and Relator capabilities required in this role; especially, when interacting with clients. I feel as though this person is better suited as an individual contributor. Be aware of discriminatory actions that I personally felt/ experienced and suspect bait and switch tactics.

Our experience started good. My parents were there over 3 years. We started noticing changes after about 9 months. They had trouble keeping a director. As directors changed, staff changed. My parents medications were not being given correctly. We had to make several formal complaints to get it corrected. Once Covid started, communication was horrible. When we were finally allowed to go in to the facility, we realized they weren’t cleaning. They did keep the front lobby area nice but the rooms were filthy. When we complained the Director told us they were short staffed so she wasn’t sure what we expected her to do. We pointed out that her door (which led to the courtyard) was leaking air. Maintenance fixed her door by putting packing tape all the around it so it couldn’t be opened. The Director of the facility and corporate were non-responsive so we found a stable facility a few miles away.

My parents had lived at HarborChase since 2021. My father has a suprapubic catheter that requires special licensing to care for him. I recently found out, unbeknownst to me, that this special license expired in 2021. In fact, when I asked the executive director to show me their license, she told me I could look for it on the wall of the facility. When I found it, I saw that it was marked as expired in April 2021. My parents no longer live there and I would not recommend it, in spite of the fact that the facility is lovely, clean, and most of the care staff is fairly good.

They did not take care of him, there is so much crap I could tell you but I do t have time right now. Horrible experience with them I actually should seek a lawyer on my deceased uncles behalf

Rude and inappropriate administration. Don’t buy in to their fake first impression. They trash talk other facilities while needing to much improve their own facility. Smells like feces. Poor resident care and low class employees.

This was a big mistake. While the facility is new and attractive, the service to slipshod. My mom has lived in assisted living there for three weeks. I'm already sorry I moved her there. I have spoken to management several times and received nothing but lip service. Their operations don't live up to their marketing materials or sales pitch. Very disappointed daughter of a resident.

Not safe for the cognitively impaired!!! Getting Mom out of there as quickly as possible. They can't keep staff. We have to go clothing shopping because Mom's clothing never comes back from the laundry. She barely has a thing to wear. She doesn't feel safe there. Traumatizing for her!

Big complaints from my brother who's at McCandless. No service in the dining area and questionable food service during the weekend. Could someone there explain the problem?

In so many ways. I spoke with everyone there. Poor communication throughout. No one watching staff, hit or miss on days for good staffing levels. There is really no programs to engage people. They either sit in their rooms or cohort them to a general public room. Usually watch tv. No activities. Food very poor.

I would not recommend Heartis because of the cost and what you get. And I didn't feel that the care was top notch.

My grandmother was discovered by me, isolated in Memory Care when I showed up to visit (Nov. 2022). She looked totally sedated and was slouched to one side of her wheelchair. When I asked front desk why was she like that, she responded by saying, "unfortunately this is how she is all day because we cant keep adjusting her all day". My grandmother's spinal bone was protruding from her back due to the lack of rotation from staff. She was delusional and speaking out of term due to medications she didn't need, which was proven once I obtained her medical history/listing. My grandmother's pendant wasn't around her neck none of the days I was there. She had strong capabilities on her right side so the pendant should have been around her neck. This facility treated family members they did not recognize like they didn't exist. They also decided to decline service from the fire department when they were called to my grandmothers room.

Someone will check on you every 2 hours - Never happens. Push your button if you need help - you will have an accident (urine or bowel) before anyone comes. Néed someone to push you to the dining area in your wheelchair? There is no one coming. You think your loved one is getting what you paid for? They are not! Again, I’m making it my mission to protect those who can’t protect themselves and those who are paying inordinate amount of money for services not being provided. [removed]

On the memory care side they really need to make improvements from top to bottom - especially regarding their staff team, that has become a major issue. We had issues that were never explained to us, they do not allow advanced care which is significant - anything that has to do with advanced care they are very resistant. They do not offer physical therapy like they say they do and they do not allow or assist with any lifts. It has not met expectations.

If you dislike your parent, then send them here. Legend will ignore your parent, not serve an appetizing meal nor will they clean your apartment. Activities are not offered in memory care. Legend is always short staffed. Management and corporate will not help. Please stay far from here. Look elsewhere. 5 star reviews are from employees. I had a parent that was neglected here. Much happier since I moved him out.

My husband was at regret park for three months and they absolutely the worst place to have someone unfortunately my husband passed last week and the funeral home had his last name spelled wrong it took me a day and a half to find him I tried to call to check on him could not get one in anyone to answer the phone when I been fighting to do FaceTime and I can't give me excuse after excuse after excuse this place is absolutely the worst place to have a loved one the new director's been there 2 weeks and had no clue where they send patients a pass I had to tell him the corner's office

I'm an [age removed] woman with dementia, and I do not like living at River Oaks. They drag me out of bed at 6am from a sound sleep, even though I desperately need to rest. My motor skills and continence started declining after only ten days at this facility, and after 30 days I was found unresponsive, unable to speak or sit up. The staff did nothing about this, but my daughter was able to hydrate me and keep me out of the hospital that time. We met with Regional-Level directors about the poor care I was getting, but a month later, I was again dehydrated, potassium-depleted, sleep-deprived and unresponsive. I spent my longest stay in the hospital yet, and then have to go to rehab for a couple of weeks because my health has been so compromised. All of this could have been avoided if I were only under a beneficial wellness plan of rest and a balanced diet. Do not trust River Oaks with your well-being. They do not care.

I have been a resident in this facility for seven months. This is a very expensive place. Unfortunately, they just put lipstick on a. Pig. You have to put up with all kinds of construction because it was poorly constructed to begin with. I went the first month with no hot water, which violates Landlord\Tenant laws in Oklahoma. The staff turnover is rampant. Seriously, I am often introduced to a new employee that I never see again.. I tried very hard to bring some happiness to the old folks. ( I am the youngest person here by twenty years). I have heard that [facility name removed] is just as nice for a whole lot less money. I can't rate Activities. I was never made aware of any & my loved one didn't mention any. The director was friendly on phone & would promise to get my loved one on the cleaning & shower schedule, but never did what promised. The facilities are nice but staff did not provide care & services I was extra for. Facilities is nice but not the place for someone who needs extra services (medication, showering). I realize hard to hire staff so should not take people who aren't completely self sufficient.

Unfortunately., they cannot keep staff as my assumption is they don’t pay enough and whe.n employees leave shock is frequently then other staff have to do two jobs When the ‘schmoozer’ who will not be named brings on new families and their loved ones in to sell them the place they get temporary staff for the dining area for the ‘free’ lunch The food is not nutritious or fresh and the good folks who do work with the residents work very hard One resident fir laundry returned to her room at midnight I will try and reach corporate Legacy CEOs As I am sure those fat cats are racking in the big bucks

I would not waste your money by putting your loved one here. You would be putting your loved one in danger, by placing them in this community. The direct staff such as the nurses always referred requests made by the family to the home health aides. The technicians would tell the family or the resident to report problem. There was a time that my loved one's bedding hadn't been changed for three weeks, and this needed to be reported according to the technician. The community ended up admitting that it had been over a month since cleaning my loved one's room, through an email to the family. The price was increased by 15% for the monthly fee for the residents. The community didn't want to refund money due to not caring for my loved one after moving my loved one out of the community. The carpets weren't being cleaned as often and the repairs weren't being made as often. The community fixed an issue of cold air by placing packing tape around the door, and this prevented the residents from using the door to the courtyard. They were short on staff, specifically on maintenance and housekeeping.
