New building, quiet location, large activities staff to encourage residents to engage, small apartments, washer and dryer included, staff was very compassionate.

We toured this community. We found the memory care was not what. They did offer a lot of activities. The community was also bigger than what we were looking for. They had activities for the residents to be active. We felt the meals were appealing. Families might consider a tour for the care and value of this community.

We liked the people and the place. The price was reasonable, however they were more hands off even with the assisted living group. Wasn't as many services provided onsite as I found with Emerald so when you add in services they maybe about even or more expensive depending on the needs we may face. All in all, my parents liked this facility.

During my tour of the Sunrise at University Park, I hate to say it, but I noticed the place was not very clean. When I went in to use the bathroom, I noticed it needed to be cleaned. Also the hallways and other parts of the community. The people were all friendly, but it was not what we were looking for.

The Arnor House of Mustang was not as nice as other communities we toured. There was a lack of natural lighting, the place seemed dark. The Staff was nice, but not as friendly as staff in other communities. It was a good community but just not what we were looking for at the moment.

The moment I walked in this community I knew this was not the place for my loved one. It felt dark and sad and it is more dated then most communities I toured. The staff was rude and not friendly at all. Every time I had a question they would give me the answer I don't know I will get back to you. I never received that call back. I would not recommend them to anyone.

The staff I met at this community were nice. The units were a little larger than we were looking for. It was a little more expensive than the other community we liked. This community just did not feel right for us.

There are so many changes happening at the moment. They got a new director and a different head nurse. There also hasn't been many activities going on because some of the staff have been in meetings. The cleanliness is okay but it could be better. The staff however has been friendly. At the moment i have been the one updating with them it would be nice if they did this.

My mother-in-law is very happy with the care that she is getting. The staff is excellant and giving good care. A wonderful menu with good food. It is very well worth the money for the excellent home my mother-in-law is happy with. There are not concerns at all.

Things were awful when my mom first moved into The Windsor at Ortega. We have since worked out the issues and things have improved. The food could be improved and they offer condiment packets which are difficult for the residents to open. They offer all kinds of activities but she is still getting acclimated so she has not yet participated in any. The staff are friendly and helpful.

I would recommend this community only if your loved one doesn't need skilled nursing. It is a good community with a very pleasant atmosphere. There is some communication problems with the staff i think there responsive time needs to be better. This is nice community to take a look at.

I really like the community, it's been a good experience. The only problem I have is the food. I have swelling in my feet and legs and they use a lot of processed foods loaded with salt. The dietitian says they don't use salt but I can taste it. It's not easy to overcome the swelling. We just finished having March Mayhem, annual thing. I enjoyed that, it was fun.

I toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. I saw quite a few options in the area and I just was not impressed with what I saw at Brookdale Gainesville. The general presentation was not up to par with similarly priced places I saw. The carpets looked like they hadn't been cleaned in quite a while, and there was a noticeable odor.

We had an issue at another community, and we were reluctant to pick one. We decided to give them a try, once the issue with the other place was resolved. This was close enough to family to be able to visit frequently, and see how things go.

My big concern is with meals, a lot of it is inedible, I would give the food a one. It's not great quality, and not prepared very well. They don't have a lot of variety for someone with stomach issues. They are starting something new, if there is something on the menu and I can't eat it, they won't put it on the plate so you can have something added or removed now. We are frequently short staffed, and they are working very hard, and for the most part they are friendly. You have to go down and sit for the meal whether or not you are eating, because that is when you get your medications. They have a big swing set in the back yard next to an open hole, and I worry about that being dangerous. For the most part the community is kept clean, but there can be occasional odors from residents not cleaning up after the pets good enough. They have activities depending on what one likes. A lot of the activities are repetitious they do the same things over and over again. The instructors for the fitness class could use a little more training. I chose them because of the friendliness of the staff. I like the location too, the neighborhood itself is really nice.

It's clean and the staff is very friendly. I just am not sure how I feel about the care. My loved one fell twice, and we weren't there for very long when it happened. I'm not sure if it could have been prevented or not, but I am just not sure what to think. Maybe if your loved one is steady and just needs meals and medication management it would be fine, but I just don't know about more than that.

$9000/month; no skilled care but memory care; like Sunrise in Glen Ellyn -not sure this would work as Papa might need more help than memory care area would provide-need to ask

She was bored to death. There just isn't that much to do. It's all a big show, it's a beautiful place, but unless you can take care of yourself you are just lost in the crowd. They have some activities but not a lot. Unless you can get up and do things on your own, it just doesn't work for someone that needs help.

They didn't have much in the way of facility. They didn't have a gym for activity like other places. It seemed more like a bed an breakfast with no library or computer room. It was also much more expensive, probably because of where they are located near the beach on San Pablo Road. Didn't appeal to my dad because the units were very small and seemed like a small motel room.

It was not as friendly. They have a memory care center and an assisted living side and they were separated. I just think for someone with memory issues it might be better to at a place where everyone is the same.
