The cleanliness, the friendliness, it is gorgeous. It is like being on a cruise ship except you are not rocking. She has done bingo, she helped create the Christmas ornaments, she's done caroling. They have someone to come in every week to play piano, and there's wine and cheese on the weekends. The other thing is that when I called Dawn, who is in charge of the admissions, she invited us to lunch before my mother came and saw the place. The food is excellent!! My husband were very impressed. I think they could improve the disbursement of medication; it's a good thing my mom has all her marbles because she knows how many pills and which she should be taking. She's has had some issues where she has had to send people back to get different pills. Overall, we are very happy. The Windsor stood out as a step above.

My siblings and I are very happy with Sunrise Senior Living in Upper St. Clair. My Mom seems to be pleased as well.

Toured the facility. It is not a five star resort, but then the prices reflect that. The rent is month to month, and the apartments are not furnished, but furnishings can be supplied. Pros not too big that a person can get lost, easy access with two elevators, nice court yard area with screened lanai. The facility is geared around social interaction, and encouraging people to mingle and talk. The various amenities include lots of living rooms with televisions, games, a library, a small "spa", a "gym" with a treadmill and recline bike, and several types of dining areas ranging from a place to get a cup of coffee, a more formal dining room, and a "kitchen" style dining area. The apartments are small but laid out well with features such as nurse call pulls, a spacious walk in shower, and hurricane windows. A nurses station provides care and the staff can set up doctor's appointments as well as arrange for transportation to and from doctor's offices, they also deal with medications etc. The staff are friendly, and not all the residents are wheelchair bound. [removed] I did smell the faint scent of ammonia/urine in places, but I can't be certain if that was from the facility or not.

I have my Mother there and she is getting excellent care. The staff could not be more helpful.

It was an excellent facility. Well appointed. Staff was attentive to residents and really cared. When my Mom was passing, we were with her all the time including overnight, and they were very kind to bring us some refreshments. My only two concerns were that they appeared to be understaffed in the memory care unit and it could be difficult to get a call back when working with the nursing staff/PA to adjust my mom's medication.

Staff/care - Solid overall. It would be nice to get updates from the staff (weekly or bi-weekly) to know how he's doing. I get updates from family and friends who visit him, but not the staff. Activities - seem to have a lot for the residents to do. Food - seems to be good for the residents. Room size - good. Cleanliness - Seems to be good. Only main negative i have is how expensive it is per month.

I have parents in both memory care and assisted living and so far so good. I would have to give a shout out to [name removed] the front agent at the desk, she is amazing and always so helpful, goes above and beyond. Love her too pieces. All the staff are polite and friendly but [name removed] really stands out. The place is always so clean and they take pride in how the house looks and smells. Every time I visit my folks there's always the smell of fresh baked cookies and popcorn and it's always inviting. My folks are in a studio on each side and I believe that is a good size for them.

While my parent was at Legend in [date removed] , my experience is that the residents were safe there, and were attended to with kindness and respect by most all staff most all the time. I never saw any indication of neglect. [name removed] the care manager truly could not be any better. She responds quickly to communication, is organized and on top of things, and is extremely patient and caring. She takes initiative to get home health services set up (of which my parent needed many). She and the on-staff PA worked well together. Another stand-out is [name removed] who runs the front desk on weekdays. She is incredibly warm and helpful. As far as the space—it’s a beautiful facility, and the common areas are kept very clean. Some of the more social residents spend a fair amount of time out in the main lobby area. The building has some large and spacious apartments—even one-bedrooms. There is an a/c unit in each room. A con in the apartments is no pad between the concrete floor and the carpet. They offer regular activities, and I saw the activity director frequently when I was there. The outdoor area is not as nice as some facilities—though some of the views from the 2nd floor are gorgeous. There is a lovely courtyard, but a resident confined to a wheelchair would need to call for a staff person to take them out and bring them back in. The elevator is nice and large for moving in and out. While the main areas and hallways are beautiful, I wish they would do something to make it easier for residents to find their rooms. I got turned around many times, and I don’t have dementia. The only staff member my parent complained about was one of the main servers in the dining area--whom I also experienced to be quite negative and abrupt to the point of rudeness. I think the dining service is the weakest link at Legend. Meals took an extremely long time, and my parent was scolded when they got up to get a server's attention because they had been forgotten. I heard more than once of residents leaving after an hour because they hadn't been served. They frequently did not serve what was listed on the menu. And sometimes they just ran out of things such as salad dressing. I hope these comments help others who are trying to find a place for their loved one!

Food service was very slow, but has improved. There are no medical services for Independent Living residents. The staff is friendly. My apartment size is large and comfortable.

Administration communication is sub-par. The room rate increased without prior notification. Emails and calls to the front office staff go unanswered. Maintenance requests can take weeks to be addressed. The receptionist ([name removed]) cannot answer any questions no matter how generic. The staff are kind, friendly and know the residents and their families. The new activities director is receptive to ideas and making sure residents are enjoying themselves. The food is tasty and nutritious.

The apartment size is really good. There is a separate sleeping area and living area and kitchenette. As well as a separate bathroom. The staff is great. They are very friendly very helpful. I have not tried the food myself. My dad said that it's OK. I don't know much about the activities either. I will say that it's very clean there and they do a great job keeping my dad's place clean as well as the facility as far as I can tell. Overall, we are very pleased.

Received a thorough and pleasant introductory tour of the facility and amenities. Older building but well-maintained. Both staff and residents lent a 'homey' feeling.

The people are very friendly and helpful. The only thing that could be improved is the transportation to and from appointments. They only transport 2 days a week and makes it hard to schedule appointments. I would recommend them to others. Everything else is good.

My dad likes the food the best, enjoys the activities, likes that the staff is friendly and helpful, and feels he's being looked. I like that it is easily accessible for him to navigate the building and he has what he needs within the community. The staff was welcoming and helpful in getting him adjusted to his new home. Yes. I have already recommended this community to friends and family members currently looking for their parents.

Staff are friendly and helpful. And the amount of events they put on. Yes, we would recommend Acclaim Living to other families based on the experience so far.

I think this is a lovely piece. I didn’t find anything that would keep me from looking further into living there. The sales director is very knowledgeable about the facility and the level of care.

The tour was really nice. The facility is a beautiful place. [Name Removed] is very accomplished in her role. It is someplace I would consider moving to if and wouldn’t financial issues are solved.

My friend likes the food in the diner but is not as happy with the food in the main dining room. The staff has been great but I'm a little disappointed that he hasn't been connected with another resident through the ambassador program that I was initially told about. That may have changed when Legend took over but he would have benefited from having someone help him get better acclimated to the place and the activities- someone to encourage him to get out of his apartment. Overall, however, very positive.

The staff are all very caring for the residents. I would recommend it to others.
