Be very clear about the level of care you are charged for and receive Be cautious about medications/ always ask what meds are being given The food is acceptable but for those with difficultly chewing the menu is not ideal, even soups have big chunks of veggies etc

The staff are amazing and the director does all that he is allowed. It is frustrating the elevator in the chateau has not worked 5 times this year. It needs to be replaced. It seems that Koelsch is more interested in new facilities than keeping up the existing ones. Very frustrating if you can’t get to a doctor appointment because the elevator isn’t working. The stairs are not an option for seniors with walkers. Wry sad situation.

The quality and nutrition of the food has gone down. More food is being wasted than is being eaten due to poor quality and poor food choices. There is a lot of fried food being served that is overcooked and not healthy. Examples are overcooked breaded shrimp, overcooked breaded fried fish, hamburger & chicken breast overcooked, dry, and hard to chew. Even though items are on the daily menus they are not available (e.g. eggs at breakfast). The other menu that says "you can order these items at any time" are also not available. Residents told that the menus are set by corporate, and Solana has no control over it. Residents are not happy with the food coming out of the kitchen. Residents and family members have expressed their concerns several times to Solana about cost cutting measures and nutritional needs that should comply with federal dietary guidelines, but no action has been taken to make changes. The list for Meals & Dining on the corporate website is not happening at Solana.

Our family had an in person tour and for what we were looking for, for our loved one the staff to resident interaction just wasn't on the same level. It was still a good tour but it was a big enough difference that made our choice.

Be really specific with your questions and maybe even get the answers in writing. We had asked to make sure their services are in our HMO network. But it has been like pulling teeth to get that to happen. We're struggling with laundry going missing, which can then become a hygiene issue when lots of underwear goes missing. Teeth brushing was in her health plan, and they were not using the specific product in her health plan, and not even brushing her teeth sometimes. They've had a whole turnover of staff and management recently. Previously the staff were terrible and did not listen to our concerns, including the executive director and head nurse. They were discouraging us to even come in and see our loved one. She had a fall when left unattended, and they didn't call us right when it happened. When we took her to emergency, there were all sorts of health issues that needed addressed, some related to the fall, some not. We had to take her to emergency several times under the previous administration. I could go on and on - there many things amiss with the care. The new staff have just recently taken over, and responsiveness has been pretty good. They seem to listen. But as far as effectiveness, we don't know yet.

We chose Copper Creek Inn because I really liked how homey it looked, it is not institutional at all. Also I really liked the staff, but it seems like they have been going through some things the last few months so there has been some turnover. We have had some issues with the laundry, they are supposed to pick it up everyday but they have not been doing so and sometimes she does not get everything back. I think if they had more staff, things would really improve.

I do not recommend Silver Creek Inn. I was highly disappointed. At first I was very pleased with them, but as time went on things began to deteriorate. My loved one had severe dementia and anger issues that they assured me they would be able to handle, but in the end they were not able to do so. They called me a couple of times to come down when they weren't able to handle him, which I didn't mind terribly, as I would rather they let me know when there's an issue. He became less mobile over time and ended up with bedsores. They were supposed to be the premiere dementia and Alzheimer's care unit, and they didn't live up to what they billed. I think they were understaffed. Then Covid hit and I wasn't able to be with him while he passed. Overall I was very disappointed. I found them to be priced on the high end after looking at several places. Really the only positives were the activities director and the CNAs. Although often I would go down and find him wet, which they said was because he wouldn't cooperate. There were some medication mismanagement issues as well. If your loved one is very docile, I think they'd get along great here. But if they have standard dementia issues, not so much.

I chose The park at Surprise because I liked the location, it is close to golf courses and such. The apartment sizes here were a little bit on the smaller side and the food here was just mediocre. I was told before I moved in that I would get an allowance for the veterans administration and that never happened, so I did have to end up moving out, it is a very expensive facility. Overall, I would not recommend.

I must say the people that run this are very nice and helpful however the food leaves a lot to be desired. The menu has not changed for 4 months, The food in the past has always been very good but lately it's terrible. When one orders a fish and baked potato and the potato comes on the plate with black hard skin that cracks like glass when you try to cut it and the coleslaw was forgotten when I asked for it it came to the table cabbage and no dressing on it we were told the cake was lemon and it was banana. My Mothers dinner looked terrible the ham looked okay her potato looked just like mine because she was suppose to have mashed but there were no mashed potatoes that night and the yams slapped on her plate were terrible. The food is included in the price and I don't know what's going on but it needs a lot of improvement.

Our loved one lived there for a couple of years. The site is beautiful and like any business, there are problems behind the scenes that their polished front does not reveal. There are some AMAZING staff there that should be paid double what they make! Mgmt is over paid and always at lunch or out when you call. There is high turnover and they seem to always be short staffed and the shower aid quit BUT this Job is one of the hardest jobs out there and for those staff people that truly love the residence they are the best there is!! I don’t have a lot of nice things to say about the management but I love a lot of the staff members there !

Although Creekside was a nice facility, it felt overly clinical and the residents were not as high functioning as our mom. It was not a good fit for our family. The monthly cost was also a factor, it was very expensive for the lower level of care our mom required.

Don't let the looks of the place impress your choice to put your love one here. [name removed] will tell you everything you want to hear to make you think it's were they need to be for care. He is just good at what does " Sales the place to you, and brings the money in " The personality you see in that office, changes once you have moved in. If everything was as good as the sales pitch, it truly would be a nice place. The major problem seems to be management, lack of communication from management to staff, and inconsistency of care. Which brings up the next comments. Over the months that we have had our loved one there. They have a major problem of keeping staff. There has been major turn over, which bring inconsistency, which is not good for our love ones care. They need to see the same people that make them comfortable, and at home. So far I have only seen two Rn's that give the true meaning of the loving care you would what for you loved one. who actually take time, to listen, hug, scratch someone's back because she knew it would help calm him down. Even more, this two take time with families to inform you, show and so there compassion for your loved one. It truly wasn't just a job too them. You could see the love , and compassion they have for what they are doing. Which I must admit is no easy task. Unfornately I can't speak for all shifts as I work, and can only see what happens with the evening staff, Unfornately the good Rn's, and aids don't stay because from what I can observe ,and talking with other family member who have love one's here. They all seem to have the same complaint. Management, and the promise of how good the place is until you move your parent in. I will not condemn other staff that work there. They are very nice, some more then others. But have witnessed first hand how the manager treats his employee's in front of residents, families, and other staff. I would think If was a employee working there, I would want to be treated with more respect. Maybe that's were a change needs to be made. "Management"

While looking into some options for my love one, I found that this facility was not as homey as I would have liked it. It definitely had that nursing home feel. In their rooms they had hospital beds and it wasn’t as warm or inviting. The staff team there though seemed really nice. While we were touring the place we notice them helping the residents that could get out of their bed assisting them to get dressed and to get them out of their rooms. That part I liked about the place. If someone were to have more of a physical disability I would recommend this location. They reason why I didn’t move forward with them is because it was more of a nursing home facility.

This is a very beautiful facility. Quiet rooms. Several gathering places and activities for the residents. The people are friendly and caring. Overall my Mom is happy there. They have weekly housecleaning service. They check on the residents daily. The van service to get them to doctor appointments has been very good. I wish I could give this place a 5-star rating for these reasons. But I cannot for a few glaring inadequacies. First is the food. It had improved some for awhile, but has gone down hill again. They even put in a new kitchen, but without a qualified chef, the food is mediocre at best. Not what you would expect from this type of place. The residents complain a lot amongst themselves, but don't voice it as they feel it wouldn't help. They have been served both over and undercooked dishes like: raw cornbread, raw chicken, and hockey puck meatloaf and hamburger patties, along with tasteless foods. Slightly cooked broccoli is a favorite for them to serve which those on certain medications should limit. It would help if it was soft enough to chew. The second issue has been medication administration. My mom has had 6 errors in her [Removed] administration that we have caught in this last year. So far, thankfully, there have been no ill consequences. The leadership has appeared interested in correcting problems when brought to their attention and have made some changes, but I do not feel very comfortable yet.

My family was looking for Respite options for my Mother-in-Law, and we toured Copper Creek Inn among some other places. Copper Creek Inn was a very nice-looking community, and we liked it, but it just wasn’t a personable as we would have liked. We wanted to connect my Mother-in-law with a caring, attentive staff, lots of activities, and good care. Copper Creek just did not satisfy all of our needs, so we ultimately chose another community for her care.
