Koelsch Senior Communities

When it comes to the activities we are not even sure if they have an activities coordinator. That area could be improved on, however based on the experience we have had so far we can say we are overall very satisfied with Copper Creek inn Memory Care.

We picked this community, because 1) Location to me. 2) Provided the care we need. 3) the building is lovely, secure and built in a square so easy for walking/exercising. Everyone is really nice. I wish they had more physical activities and challenging mental activities for those who are able. I feel mom wasn't quite ready for this level of care, but we didn't want to move her multiple times. She likes it there, and that's all that matters!

My family and loved one had a good experience with Maple Glen Memory Care. The staff are patient, attentive and compassionate towards the residents. The community is clean. Everyone is friendly here. The community provides meals and activities to assist with socialization of the residents. Overall we would recommend the community to others.

Certainly we could have saved ourselves some stress if we would have started earlier. We knew Mom was going to need to move somewhere but we waited until it became an emergency. But as far as the Community/Staff it worked out really well that we were able to basically meet everybody on their staff, which was really, really nice.

Overall experience 4+. We haven't used the nursing care as is starts at [fee removed] /month for each person & they couldn't guarantee showering in evening. So I do their med set up & assist with bathing. Seemed a bit steep for their price! Food has been constant problem. Usually is cold, or not great. But overall, my parents are happy there. My dad suffered a small stroke a few weeks ago and they responded quickly & appropriately. We were with him when it happened, thankfully. Bus service is great, drivers are very friendly. Apartment is wonderful and we'll set up for wheelchair.

Staff seems to really care. As far as activities go - I thought they had something for veterans, but haven't seen it. I think they could do more to engage the men. Possibly they could also try to come up with learning activities/lectures, like those offered by libraries. It seems like they are light on activities for those who still are pretty sharp mentally.

Good place to care for your loved one. Sometimes they seemed understaffed. We picked this community, because not many available in our area for memory care. Good location in local home community, and the availability.

Maple Glen staff have worked with my loved one and have made her feel very comfortable. She accepts her living situation now and is happy. At home she was very difficult to handle. I feel sometimes Maple Glen is understaffed, front desk relief is poor. Weekends and holidays especially. The primary front desk person is very welcoming, but others are not very helpful. Our family has concerns about the lack of supervision in the halls / general security.

Most of the staff are 5 stars with friendliness, an occasional 2 which will eventually be addressed. The activities get 5 stars due to the PT and OT. The overall experience was positive and the Koelsch organization is very professional and works hard at making a stay a very positive experience. My mother was able to rehab successfully in Solana and return to her home where she is now managing well on her own. The staff works hard and with empathetic care to make the best of one's stay. We would recommend this community to other families.

The community itself is clean, but it smells like poop often, they could use some better air filtration. When it comes to the care services they don't have enough staff to make sure mom gets out and walks. As far as activities, they are boring and mom never wants to do them. The value is very expensive for what little they have to do for mom .

I have a few specific complaints: Food is pretty terrible. His room and bathroom are never clean when I visit. They keep losing his stuff. But otherwise my family member is well taken care of. It's a good place overall.

My loved one liked the food. As far as activities, they need to keep staff retention. The nursing care also needs to improve. They lost a lot of staff members. The in-house therapy was really good. My advice to other families, looking to place their loved one here, is to show up and pay attention. As a family member go several times a week, to check on your loved one.

I think the people taking care of him are well experienced and well trained. I wish there were more activities to keep him busy

Overall we have had a pretty good experience with Caterbury Gardens.

The community is very nice and very clean. The staff seem to really care about the residents and their families. The dinning room is nice and the food is good.

I toured this community and it was nice, just not the right fit for my loved one's personal needs.

What sticks out most to me about The Hampton at Salmon Creek is their friendliness; calling mom by name, every staff member we've talked to has commented on how sweet mom is. They have been great to keep us in the loop, when she has fallen or isn't feeling well...

Canterbury Inn was great and the Liasons was a great person people. But my Dad is what they consider Medically Complex. This facility's RNs felt that my Dad would require a lot of attention/monitoring. They felt he probably would be better served in Skilled Nursing and not their facilities. Weird part is they never even met with my Dad for a assessment. This was just them reviewing his medical records. So it's not that I didn't choose them. They just told me no thanks!

This is a beautiful facility with gorgeous units. Everything is magnificent here. The staff is friendly. It's kept very clean. Units have huge bathrooms. The only downfall for us is that there's no green area for the residents. Which is important, especially for residents with pets. It's more expensive than most other places we saw in the area.

In general our experience has been positive. The residents in the community still need an outside advocate to follow up on their requests. The staff communication has been responsive to the family if we have questions or concerns. There are some concerns with the delivery of meals due to the lack of staff. There are times the items aren't what the community says they are going to have for meals. The residents do have choices in addition to the special of the day. There are three meals a day served to the residents here.
