Some of the services are good but no shower or kitchen

Its a nice and clean commmunity, there are things to do if you are an active person. The activities are starting back up. It is always in a good location which we like.

This is all based on my loved one's experience and what she's told me. She's had a couple of issues. She feels they shouldn't have had her move in with Covid going on, that her move-in date should have been delayed. Also, she had originally booked the one-bedroom. Then she decided on the two-bedroom, and they took the rent out for both of them. I'm not sure if she's been refunded, and that's big money to us. She also advised she had pushed her help button and waited around 3 hours (although it might have seemed longer than it was due to being in pain and waiting) and ended up in the hospital with broken vertebrae in her back. So she's not been happy with those things, as well as what she was told would be provided vs. what actually has been provided. I know Covid has caused some extra grief due to protocols, which we understand. But that's the case everywhere.

Our family had a virtual tour and the experience was okay, the links would never work for us when we tried to set up a zoom chat. When we were able to get them to work the first thing our loved one said about the place, was how institutional it looked. It did not have that warm and welcoming feeling.

The activities have been really good which is a big plus, however they are currently undergoing new management. Some issues we are having is when it comes to the meals they put out menu's showing what they are serving, but when you go down to the dining hall it will not be the same food. Sometimes they re-use food from other meals, and we do believe it is because the kitchen staff is short handed. The value is okay, the residents are supposed to be getting house keeping on a weekly basis and sometimes that is not the case.

I would tell others that they have new management so I am not sure what that is like, but the previous management was not very good. Other than that covid has been the main issues, residents cannot do anything right now and they just let them out of their rooms recently, they have been locked down for 3 months and they are delivering food and are always late with the meals. Other then that staff is great and they do their best to help out.

I would recommend this be your last resort. It is a sad place to be. It is very dated. We felt it was expensive for the small room. They were in the middle of staff turnover, and a transition at the corporate level. The transition felt cold and wasn't a good cooperate takeover. They could spiff up the activities offered.

I would tell others that my sister is very disappointed with the food that they serve here. She is really not able to eat meals here except for the breakfast, the variety is good but they could improve the quality of the meals. They do not have a lot of participation among the residents in the activities and they do not seem to be very well planned out and presented. The location of the facility is very convenient, it is close to Walmart, local restaurants, doctors, etc.

The majority of the food is subpar. You can count the vegetables on the plate. I think it could be much better. The quality of the vegetable is okay. There is a cost to have food delivered to your room if outside of the pandemic. There was supposed to be cleaning available for the apartments and the individual has never been here to help with this. They have activities available to participate in, if you choose to. I think it is overpriced for what you are getting overall. I think the parking is convenient. The staff are very nice; however, there are no staff after 7 pm. There has been a lot of turnover in staff.

We toured this community and the staff was very friendly. The rooms seemed to not be as finished as the rest of the community and the kitchenettes were very small. unfortunately, it just didn't fit our needs.

The value for the money is very good in this community. Communication is average but they keep us informed. The food needs more veggies, less starches, and More variety in general. I would not recommend this community based on my experience. The community is clean and the location is nice. I like to design of the community and it just been refurbished.

Overall, the people are nice there. The staff attend to my loved one and are quick to respond to her. Since the pandemic, there's been less social events and activities for her to do, and therefore a lot more isolation. I think that's the same everywhere, but it's still difficult to see. There have been several maintenance issues my loved one has had to wait quite a while on. The food is terrible, and my loved one complains to me about it every day. That could be due to the pandemic challenges of figuring out how to serve and deliver meals to the rooms. However, management is changing soon from Holiday to Atria. And all of the residents are really hoping the one thing that happens when Atria takes over is the food will get better. Activities used to be good before the pandemic. Now they're fumbling and trying, but it's just not working. I think it's pricey, especially considering how much she complains about the food. Also, they would normally have a bus to take the residents to appointments and go on outings. Not having that mobility further contributes to feelings of isolation. And that makes me sad to see. I think they do a good job of taking temperatures and offering structured visits. Her apartment is very clean. They clean it every week, including towels and bedding. And I'm so grateful for all of those things. I would tell other families to look around and not rush your decision. My loved one hates the food and is lonely, but she's safe there, in a clean environment, with people who care.

I would tell others not to move in here. There are bugs in the community. Things aren't being taken care of when it is reported to management. The transportation isn't on time to take residents to doctor appointments.

I would suggest to look at other communities. They were delivering meals to the resident's rooms due to the pandemic. The community would offer two meals and you didn't get to order food. It was a choice between two meals. The community kept saying they were short handed, and they weren't able to get maintenance team available to fix items. The activities were almost non existent. You would have to sign-up for activities for the following week in one area. They didn't have enough time and space to participate in the activities. The people that worked there, were very nice. The community was outdated.

Trying to get our money back from them was horrendous. It took MONTHS. They couldn't support my loved one, so we had to move her to a facility with more care. We had paid up front, and it took at least six months to get the deposit back. The residents were friendly overall, and it was kept pretty clean. As long as you have low care needs and don't need your money back, I would recommend them.

I think you need to look very thoroughly at all the places before making a decision. Don't jump into it. And then give yourself some time to consider after touring. I'm happy we did so, and I feel like we ended up in the right place. I love the view of the water. It's so relaxing. There are huge windows with a view, and our apartment is very spacious. The community is friendly, and there's quite a few residents who have been here quite a while. The staff are wonderful. We got a new boss, and she's wonderful too. The maintenance staff is quick and responsive. All requests have to be taken care of in 3 days. The wait staff in the dining room are great. We can't complain there. The food is good sometimes, but other times it is not. It takes getting used to the lower sodium content, and it's not like home cooking. The building is a little older and needs a little bit of work done, but otherwise it's been great. Location-wise it's close to shopping, and buses will take you downtown and to your doctor appointments. Everything is handy.

I would recommend this community if your loved is totally independent. Communication was not the best and they needed to communicate things to us before they became a problem but didn't. The covid plan was good we wore masks and took temperature anytime we visited.

I am quite impressed that no residents have contracted the virus. This because is because of all the protocols by the community.

There is a disconnect between billing and the family. The community has gone above and beyond with the staff, they are great. Response time could be better when we have questions. The communication with the email is quick. I would consider this community if you need a retirement community.

The pandemic has limited several services for the residents. They've made some upgrades to the building. The food is Mediocre.
