The first page of this retirement to me had me unable to focus past the dated and oh so ugly couch. I started to write it off when I realized that you view retirement independent living with the dreaded "home" that parents have been threatened with, through their senior years. Modernizing your public areas and updating your brochures would be greatly beneficial to you. former Director of Sales and Marketing for the Best Western (North Bay).

It was the first one we visited. I quite liked it but I am not the person who's moving in. Lunch was excellent.

1and 2 bedroom rooms were a good size and balcony a nice bonus. Sit down lunch was too long.

My mother is presently staying here and that may change. The food despite her paying almost $3000 per month, is very wanting. It is institutional and leaves a lot to be desired. With that kind of money, the cooks could be very creative. The decor is very dated and carpets are old. Holiday must hold tight purse strings on incoming funds and too much goes into their pocket instead of care of their facility. The people are nice though.

Only has Independent living, no higher levels of care.

The quality and choices has dropped constantly in the last several months. Often food is served cold when it should be warm. (BUT WHAT THE HECK, THEY’RE JUST OLD PEOPLE) Makes me sick that our widows and widowers are treated that way. They changed Gen. Manager’s several months ago. Possibly one reason service has gone down. Beautiful place with wonderful residents and the serving staff are great. Now I have seen this first hand. I will remain anonymous as my loved one may suffer because of my complaints. On the surface everything is beautiful. But when you see this happening, you have to say something. This is a 2018 assessment and since my loved one has moved in the quality of food has gone. I have eaten there a number of times and I know this complaint is valid and true. Sincerely, Anonymous

Not impressed with units. No residents in the hallway and exercise class in lobby had unhappy looking residents. No one to greet people at front desk the day I visited.

The food here is not very good but it will do. We lost the manager when I came and another one a week ago but she will be back in 2 weeks, however, some of the staff usually seems to be confused. Some of the residents should not be here as they are obviously in need of much more help and not able to walk without help. I love the beauty here and the maintenance man is terrific.

I have mixed feeling about this community. Don't get me wrong half of it is me and half is them. All in all the facility is appealing and comfortable. I just can't get into the swing of the set meal times and I'm spending an extra 200.00 for food a month to supplement my meals. The portion size is not adequate. The menu isn't made for a diabetic or someone with high blood pressure. They serve high sodium foods. And I was told point blank they couldn't accommodate my diet needs. They have an activity director but limit the funds for her to really provide daily activities. They also need two elevators it gets so congested. They also claimed to have someone available 24 hours a day and they lock up and go by 7:30. Just not a good fit for me and would recommend people to first tour many communities before making a decision.

Mostly, we enjoyed the friendliness. The meals, not so much. We are mostly vegetarian, but do eat and enjoy seafood. In comparison. Still, the Chef did his best, would come to our table on occasion and for one meal, treated us with the best veggie burger we've ever had! We would certainly consider coming again for a respite stay.

My friend was in this community and was only here for 23 days. He was there for rehab, respite care and long term. But unfortunately he passed away. The stay here was NOT smooth at all. He was an abrasive man so I get it may have been hard to care for him. But I really think that the director, and the nurses could've put forth more effort to make it a little bit easier for everyone. No one would motivate him to come out of his room. With that being said if he wasn't physically around the dining area for lunch at 12 he wouldn't get his food till 2:30 and they knew he needed help.

I toured here while looking for living options for both my father and my sister, and the staff are all super friendly people, wonderful people. I really appreciated how accommodating they were, but I had two concerns while touring: 1) I found that they allowed smoking inside the building, which I didn’t like. 2) I also learned that there were no security measures, no guard or staff there at night. It was based on “honor System,” which concerned me, because it would be easy for someone to prop open a door or something. While I like the people, this community had too many concerns for me to feel safe putting my loved ones there.

My mother is still taking some time to adjust with her move to this community. For the most part I do feel comfortable with her move to this community. However there is some room for improvement in some areas around this facility. When we first toured the community, the suite we were shown was nice. They informed us that all the suite looked the same, but they do not. Her current room does not have the features that she needs. Also they have their private home care agency they work with, I was not informed of this. I have been informed by (free) government home care, they will NOT come in. They do serve good meals, and everyone is very kind, and friendly. It is still a work in progress for us in this community overall but management and me are working on this. As for my rating on activities, I continuously see their private bus available to all the community at the door ready to load! Unfortunately, I know my mother will not partake in any of this but other residents I have spoken with are very active with the program.

I had a tour and saw that the community is very old and looked too much like a nursing home. The person who gave the tour was very professional.

The community was nice and our tour went well and everyone was kind and informative but unfortunately, they do not allow large dogs and my parent's dog is a very important part of their lives.

The residents spend a lot of time in the dining hall each day as it takes hours for them to receive their food. The food is good and healthy. They do offer a good variety of activities. The community is clean and the staff are nice. They do offer trips out, however they only offer one pick up time.

As soon as we starting touring the community it was clear that this was not going to be the place for my parents. Everything was dated it needed to be refurbished. The whole environment gave off more of a nursing home feel rather than a assisted living community. The rooms had no kitchens in them so my mom if she wanted to cook, would have to go a distance and use the community kitchen and that wasn't a convent option. The staff was pleasant and nice and the location would have been perfect

Lots of promises prior to moving in. Promises were not upheld. Staffing changes occurred shortly after moving in, which caused a discount. New staff were not as friendly or warm and of course had no stake in the promises made. I feel pressured with the new rules and therefore am stressed. I wish I had rented elsewhere. The intro meal was delicious. Too much pork and shellfish now. Menu has decreased in variety and likeability. Some of the people who wait tables need to smile more and give a presence of friendliness instead of stern and curt.
