Very honest community. It is a good value for the price. People are very friendly. I was in a time crunch to find a place due to rehab discharge date and they were able to work with my timeline. The food here is disgusting, it is one step up from a high school cafeteria. I have food allergies to fish and cucumbers. When they were serving in the dining room they were able to work with my food allergies now that the food is being brought to our rooms they do not accommodate anyone's food needs.

My mother in law is not happy. She does not like the food, they have talked to the management but nothing has changed. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is clean and smells good. They have a good amount of activities. My in laws feel that the other residents are not very friendly. The other residents are not very inclusive at all. They are having a hard time with the quarantine and having to stay in their apartment. They miss their old independent apartment, they don't realize that they need the care. Valencia Commons has limited outdoor space for residents to use.

Sweet staff. Lovely grounds. Nice apartments. Some residents not following rules on non-smoking and so some areas smelled of smoke. Did not try food and wished we had.

Clean, remodeled recently. Rooms are on the smallish size with an awkward layout making it a bit difficult to furnish.

In transition. Very dated and worn. Renovation and update scheduled but not until this coming year. Too late for my needs.

The staff is very friendly, but they are understaffed and they can't keep workers for some reason. House keeping is not very good. The food is ok but they need more help in the kitchen ... Sometimes the wait for food to be served is very long .

Pro's - Nice facility with lots of activities offered. Con's - Food and meal service. Wait staff is not friendly at all. Food is poor quality, not many options. A lot of the same over and over. - Building maintenance staff not responsive or qualified. Complained the entire time he was in my mother in law's apartment and was unable to fix the issue.

The three of us who visited are not in agreement and are ambivalent regarding a decision. This was the only place that was where we wanted to be and who would accept my 53 year old son. I am looking at other centers which will accept my son next year. I have an appointment for [date removed].

Felt a bit to sold like a realtor for a condo unit but very nice facility.

My Mom has been in this facility for 4 years now. Everything about the Springs has been great until the last year concerning the food. My Mom is not one to complain about anything unless there is a need. The quality and quantity has taken a major dive. For instance, there use to be 4 to 5 choices of fruit for breakfast, now only 1 or 2. The choices the residence have are not appetizing and no one is listening to their complaints. The added reason I am writing this review is because my Mom has not been feeling well so has had her meals brought to her room. Every time the meals are cold and not what she ordered. I find this very unacceptable. Nutritious and appealing food is a vital part on ones existence especially the elderly. This has got to change.

Canyon Meadows is 21 years old and shows its age in their suites. I didn't like the access and it is situated on a hill, so unlikely that residents would be able to go for walks or wander to the mall etc...I did not try the food, but I hear it's very good.

No longer an independent living community. My mother has been here several years and she has enjoyed it for the most part. It seems that Holiday Retirement (parent company) can't seem to find a management team that is effective. Each change in local management brings change to the community and the elderly are not specifically accepting of change. The food is mostly "adequate", rarely good, even more rarely great. Same vegetables several times a week. Often times what was on the menu is not what is being served and that can be frustrating for elderly residents. Activities are fun but there could be more variety. Outings are few and far between. A new manager has joined the team just this month and while she seems very nice, I hope she is equally as effective.

My sister has lived there for 5 months and has not made any REAL friends. Enjoys the activities except for the choices of movies shown. They do not do many off site. Food is not consistent in quality.l Over all very clean and staff is warm.

The staff and people are awesome! Everyone is friendly. However, the food is not great. Especially the evening meals. Soups are tasteless and sandwiches are dry. Barely eatable. I hear complaints daily even after it was brought to management attention multiple times. The activeties are hit and miss, many cancelled. Very confusing when schefule is not as listed. Have seen improvements with it over last few weeks. Housekeeping is great. Love the doctor and pharmacist. Overall it is good, very clean and well maintained.

The food and staff are great, my parents love it. But there have been several billing errors in the first few months, including overcharges. This had been a frustration, and a concern.
