This was our last choice for where we wanted our loved one to go. It was an older looking facility and could use some updates.

When we speak to our loved one they are pretty dissatisfied with the meals and dining service. There is a lack of variety and lack of healthy alternative choices. Also, when our loved one had to have food delivered to their room when they were sick, the meals were always wrong.

This is not a place for independent retirement living. This is more of a last stop before memory care. The staff depends - sometime they're nice, sometimes not. The residents are nice and sweet, and it feels like home. I love everybody here. It seems like every time there's an activity scheduled, they end up canceling it, due to the weather or people get sick. It's kind of boring here. There's not much to do, and it just doesn't feel like the right place for me at this stage in my life. The food is horrible, like hospital food. Overall I'm grateful to be safe here with what's going on in the world. They keep it nice and clean. But it's very expensive for what little they offer.

They are pretty friendly with covid and everything going on. They are not able to do a lot of activities because of Covid. This is kind of expensive. I know that a lot of this is becuase of Covid from talking to other residents it was a lot better before and they are hoping that things get a lot better when covid gets better.

They are short staffed and have had supply issues but all of this is related to covid and is temporary. I think if we would have been here pre-covid times, it would have been a higher rating. Overall due to our experience I would still recommend them.

This would be a great place to start in your retirement adventures. I have seen some of the activities however, at this time they are on a lock down due to an outbreak. The staff are pleasant and I have had good experiences.

My tour at Echo Ridge was okay. I found it to be very expensive. I also found the the people who live there to be a bit snobbish. There were a bunch of residents sitting out on the porch, and I had to walk by them. Nobody introduced themselves or said hi. They do allow dogs, but I didn't feel the love of animals that I do at the place I ended up choosing. The apartment they showed me at Echo Ridge was so small. I could have gotten my bed in there, but I didn't know where I would put a computer or a TV, that’s how small it was. And the rent was high. It was beautiful outside, but inside it was not all that beautiful. And they don’t have washers/dryers in the rooms. You have to go outside to a laundromat.

Our family had an in person tour and we noticed pretty immediately there was a moldy smell to it, and it was dirty. It was just a mustier old facility.

They was very friendly but the community was kind of out of date which is why we went with a different place.

I think there are a lot of things that they could improve on at Jackson Oaks. The main complaint is the food, we do not get to make up the menus here, they come from the corporate office. The meals are not balanced and are very random. There is a lot of turnover in staff, they are not able to keep kitchen help, we do not have an activities director right now, and we were without a manager for a few months, they did just hire a new person yesterday.

I did not care for this facility. It seemed crowded and looked more nursing-home like.

My dad was not a fan of the location of this facility.

The service is below par due to the shortage of staff in the dining room and the kitchen. I think it is a great community, overall. The lower scores all apply to being shorter staffed due to the pandemic. It would be helpful if the staff paid more attention to the cleanliness of the community.

My dad does not like the food and I really don't know if I would recommend this community to others.

There was no staff after the community's close time. The staff weren't able to assist with going to pick up with my medication. This wasn't the best situation for me, so I decided to leave the community.

Upon arrival, cleanliness and everything was really great. Our loved one was greeted well by the daily staff, but not management. We had quite a few hiccups with management there. There was also a huge debacle with the kitchen staff where they all up and left (although that could have been Covid-related). So they were trying to put together pizzas and deliver food to the residents. It was a huge challenge for the staff and residents, and I'm sympathetic to that, but it could have been handled better. On one occasion, I attended a resident-management meeting, and I was very disappointed in how the management reacted to the residents. I felt they were combative and negative toward the residents. A lot of the complaints were regarding diet, especially in relation to health conditions. Management says they aren't in control of the food, that all of those decisions come from corporate. They said there's nothing they can do about it. It is what it is. And that's completely inappropriate when people are paying that much for this type of care. That kind of left a bitter taste in my mouth, and things just went downhill from there. I kept asking for a welcome packet/information, and finally a couple moths in I had to type it up myself and ask them to print it. My loved one ended up in the hospital with a medical crisis, where the hospital recommended we move her to assisted living. Yet Sky Peaks tried to talk us out of moving her to assisted living. So we decided to put in our notice altogether, and management also tried to talk me out of putting in my notice until a certain day. Which seemed strange but made mores sense when I asked for a refund. They said they don't do partial refunds. My biggest concern is that management is not responsive to the tenants. I feel like they still need to take the feedback positively and and not be so combative toward the residents. It's a beautiful facility, but I'm just not sure about how it's being run. It was a disappointing experience. I loved the apartments, the grounds are well kept, the location is perfect. Housekeeping and maintenance are great and went above and beyond. One of the maintenance crew saw me trying to get rid of some large furniture and came up to me and asked if I would be interested in donating it to a resident who had absolutely nothing. So the daily staff are very attentive and caring, but management is not at all. It's not a bad place overall. There are a lot of positives. But if you choose this community, I would just recommend that you stay involved and actively advocate for your loved one.

Make sure everything is fixed in the apt before you move in or it may not be fixed. The community is very short staff and that causes lots of issues. I would not recommend the community to others based on my experience.

We chose Echo Ridge because they had current availability and they also had a ground level apartment that my mother in law really liked. It is also close to where we live which is nice. The apartment sizes here are good for what she needs. Overall I would recommend to other families who are looking for a good value.

TO BE FAIR, THIS FACILITY IS UNDERGOING A MASSIVE REMODEL, SO IT WAS HARD TO GET A REAL FEEL FOR IT, THOUGH THE PLANS LOOK LIKE A BEAUTIFUL, MUCH NEEDED UPDATE. [name removed]WAS VERY NICE AND GAVE A GOOD PRESENTATION.

The community is more like assisted living facility than an independent community. There are some residents that need to be in a community that offers additional assistance. The food is not good at all, The quality is not very good and they change the menu all the time. They also run out of food all the time.
