Village Gate does a very good job of keeping its residents healthy, happy, amused and covid-19 disease free.

My husband and I lived in Ormond IN, in another facility for 8 years. He came to Connecticut to be near our daughter. My husband died six years ago. I have enjoyed living in both facilities and I'm happy here. My only complaint is the food could be better.

People are friendly and the staff are helpful.

The first thing that stood out to us about this community was the price and the minimal care services that came along with that price. The friendliness of the staff members tends to vary just a bit. The food was not the best but they did offer a variety of choices for the residents to pick from.

I appreciate that the staff do their very best to keep us comfortable and safe during the pandemic. The one area of improvement is the meals offered. Pleasing everyone is impossible, I know, but I believe there could be much improvement overall. I love the new home!

A great place to spend my senior years. Much too restricted do to Covid but that is the government decisions.

Springs of Escondido. Our mother has been at the Springs for over 6 years now. She is a nonagenarian cancer survivor with macular degeneration, and sometimes quite the personality!! The "facility" has renovated while we have been there, and done a good job with the C-19 procedures required. It is kept clean, the regular staff, cooks, servers care about the residence there, and really work hard. The management has changed a few times, but the Holiday directors have been helpful as well. The facility format changed, and is now more of a senior facility with no staff present overnight. The residents all have alerts, and hiring your own external caregivers to come in where needed is suggested. The facility is charming, nice courtyard, library, gym, and generally do a great job at plenty of activities and accommodating the residents. There is a shuttle, as well as activities scheduled out when possible. Overall, a caring - good - clean place. Let them know [name removed] recommended them :)

Get in writing what they say they are going to do. She had food allergies and they not taken care of. There were also plumbing issues and was told she couldn't use her restroom and had to use the common restroom. it took a few days to get the plumber in and get it fixed. The food served during our interview and it was good after we moved it was not good at all. I would recommend this community they have a great setting they just need to take care of these few issues.

Right now due to COVID the residents are not able to eat in the dining room. Our loved one really likes the Spanish architecture, and she likes that her room has an exterior door with a patio. We would recommend this community to a family or friend.

The facility is still doing activities with COVID going on within the limitations. They do things such as exercise classes, bingo, games, etc. The dining room is not open 100%, but about 20 people are able to dine in at a time and the others get their meals delivered. I chose this facility because I was familiar with it when it was first built and I knew some people who had lived here before. The best part about the community so far has been the people and the service in general. I would recommend it.

We chose Golden Oaks because we thought the atmosphere was friendly and the facility itself seemed homey. The price was also good compared to other places. The apartment sizes are a little tight, I think it would nice if they were a little larger due to residents who have to use walkers and wheelchairs. The best part about the community so far has been the friendliness of the staff and they really care about the residents. One thing they could improve on is the food, they bring the food to the room and the meals would mix together. think they could use fresher foods rather than canned but overall, I would recommend.

The staff was outstanding. I would tell my friends that it is an outstanding place. The community doesn't have WiFi for residents, and they don't include a landline for the elderly. The residents are used to calling via a landline. I would like to have these items included in the rent. The residents have to use the cell phones, and sometimes they would lose the cell phone or the use the cell phone due to their arthritis. I wish they had some type of mobile care center for the residents to use. My loved one is trying to stay in the community as long as possible.

I have lived here for 6.5 years and have always found our staff caring and sincere. During this Covid crisis, they have been very conscientious and kept us free from active cases. My greatest desire and complaint is to have more security at night (security guard) and improvement in the dietary department!

Pinegate community is very clean, they had house keeping come once a week and the outside was always very nice and beautiful. This really is a beautiful community. The staff members were very friendly, but this community is pretty expensive. The food for every meal was good, they had a great chef, except sometimes the food portions were small. If you needed certain care services you had to hire them outside of this community. The activities were very good they really would go all out for them. They had singing, movie nights, a variety of games and cards to play. They would also go out for shopping trips and to doctors appointments.

I've lived at Essex House for over 6 years. We find it to be very good with all their amenities and well managed.

It is a very nice place to live. The residence and staff are very friendly and helpful. It is kept clean, the food is good, with many actives. Not as many activities during the Covid-19 pandemic but improving and we have no cases of Covid-19.

Local managment very good, eager to please residents. Food is average. Will be much better when we can eat in dining toom again and have more choices. Activities will be better also when outsiders can come in.

Love this community living. Staff and people very friendly and helpful. Food very good and everything very clean. Would recommend Essex House to anyone. General manager is just the right person to run this home. Many activities and bus trips.
