Beautiful residence for seniors. Nice rooms and dining room plus other facilities. With CCAC you can get more help than can be provided here such as pill distribution and bathing.

She is doing good there. We do not have any complaints about the place so far. Everything is going well.

She is in a nursing home now, but hopefully she will be going back to the Springs of Escondido because it is a great place with a caring and compassionate staff.

The staff is friendly and helpful but the turnover of managers is troubling. They are nice and you get to know them and then they are gone. The food is excellent, small portions but nutritional and some variety. There is only one elevator for residents to use which creates quite a backlog and no one has provided a plan in case of fire. Stairs may not be appropriate for some with disabilities. Kitchen and serving help are patient and nice. Additional services such as part-time aides can be expensive so if a loved one cannot live totally independently, another level of care may be more cost effective. Small community of seniors who seem to care very much about each other. If independent living is needed but in a safer environment, this is the type of place to look for.

very diligent about checking on my mother and welcoming her to the community. a bit pricey, but hopefully the cost will even out with her increased happiness.

For many days from the time I came in, the heating, cooling system wasn't working properly. After speaking to the caretaker, myself, in about two weeks time, it got fixed. I had thought I must have an air exchanger but finally realized that the fan shouldn't be blowing all the time. The thermostat said 73 for instance and it felt like sixty in the night. It seems to me that the previous tenant must not have reported the problem.

Edgewood Downs needs handicap accessible bus. They need lifts on them. She doesn't go on tours or outside due to this. I've been happy with her being there. She said she is tired of the food there. She said she is tired of chicken breast and wanted dark meat. So, they started cooking with dark meat more. I thought that was very responsive of them. Overall, things are good here, but I would like to see them get a handicap accessible bus.

My mom and dad are both living at Valencia Commons and they have been a real Godsend to us. My parents needed to move in there, and though they did not like having to leave their home, Valencia Commons has been very good for them.

Everything seems to be going well and so far they seem to be settling in nicely. So far so good.

I think the management is good and they are friendly and outgoing with their residents and they are helpful when the residents need particular small amounts of help and they are flexible with those types of things. I think overall it has been a great experience.

This is a beautiful, clean and safe environment for my mother. I can rest knowing there is 24/7 staff for emergencies. Three chef prepared meals so I know she is eating well. She doesn't drive so she can get her hair and podiatrist appointment right in the facility. Right now she has in home therapy. The staff is pleasant, helpful and professional. Our experience has been excellent!

We are very happy to have found such a wonderful place for our Mother.

Up to this point I have been pretty pleased. The people have been very friendly, and the place is well kept. They have lots of things offered to do. They have a beautiful dining room, and the food is good, with an excellent chef. I haven't found any hidden charges up to this point. I liked the whole setting, it had a comfortable look to it, it was very inviting, that's why I picked it.

The Victorian At Mckenzie has been a life saver for my Mother and for our family. They stepped up and took my Mom in when VIHA deemed her to a hospital bed. Now my Mom is active and living the live she deserves. Thanks Victorian At Mckenzie for being there for us. :)

My mom loves it. She has everything she needs and they bring her where she needs to go. They have lots to do, exercise classes, socials, all kinds of entertainment. There is occasionally a complaint about the food. They were a little more than some other places, but for what they offer, it was worth it.

Looked at several places, most we could not afford. This one was reasonable for what you get. The food is "meh" at best. But all in all if you don't like it on a given day you can eat in your own suite. Everyone was very friendly throughout the process.

The Court at Barrhaven is a wonderful senior's residence for active living seniors. Their meals are unsurpassed with quality, freshness, variety and service. Their staff are attentive, helpful, and friendly. One aspect I like is that the same server/staff takes care of my parents every day. They grow to know them and watch out over them. And the familiar face makes it easier for my parents to relate. Although nursing care is not included, Homewatch Caregivers work in the building, and offer many services to help aging seniors, and provide peace of mind for their relatives. Activities are varied - with something for everyone. A Court bus is available to take the seniors to appointments, and on day trips. And best of all, pets are welcomed. To be able to still have their pets with them is so important to many seniors. Even if they don't have a pet, there are many small dogs that will share their love with strangers when they are going in and out of the building. I highly recommend the Court at Barrhaven!

It's very clean and the staff is very friendly and approachable. They are pretty responsive if there are questions or concerns. The residents used to complain about not having enough variety with the meals but that seems to be improving. They do have a newsletter and the residents are able to have a meeting and bring things to their attention that they would like changed or improved.

I found this facility to be superior to all the others that I checked out when looking for a place for my father-in-law. It affords easy accessibility, close to all amenities, security, personal alarms, excellent food, doctor, hair salon, fun activities, housekeeping, and special events occurring on a regular basis. Amber Meadows also allow pets & smoking. The decor is stylish, upscale, well planned out for maneuverability, and exceptionally clean. The staff are very courteous, friendly, and extremely helpful. I recommend Amber Meadows to anyone seeking a homey and comfortable home to live out their retirement years. Well done, Amber Meadows.

Terrific facility, clean, upbeat, very nice rooms with private terraces/balconies which is so important for fresh air and sunshine. The food is fabulous, and my mom really loves the people and the activities available. "Everyone is sooo happy here!" is her daily refrain. Almost everything she needs is included in the price of the (reasonable) rent: linen service, weekly housekeeping, maintenance, 3 full meals, emergency call buttons with quick response times, cable TV, some transportation, social activities, and more. The only limitations are probably in line with the affordable prices. For example, transportation to doctor's appointments is provided in the rent, but only on certain days/times which makes it a bit difficult to schedule around the doctor's schedules. Mealtimes are really fun--full scale productions, really--but you really must arrive right on time (or order for room delivery in advance) because once each course is served, it's over. Access to food/snacks outside meal time is limited, (e.g., there is usually coffee/tea/lemonade and some sweet snacks available) but the after-hours self-serve soup is usually empty. So it's important to have her own food and snacks on hand in her room--and each unit does include a refrigerator. For Catholics, it's great that Eucharist is offered albeit not full Mass, and non-denominational bible study and Sunday church service is offered on site. All in all, this is actually all quite luxurious while remaining a good value. I would definitely recommend Greenwood Terrace. More importantly, though, I know my mom would--and very enthusiastically as well!
