This community has set meal times and they bring the food around on a cart. They only offer two entries and the food was not great. I did not get the feeling that all of the residents were not happy here. The community is nice, however it is not in an area that would work for us. The managers we met with reminded us of used car salesmen. This community did not seem like the right fit for us.

My loved one's stay at Colonial Gardens is going great! The facility is very clean and well maintained and the staff is very friendly and polite. For the most part, my loved one is very fond of the food, as well as the activities, such as bingo, that are offered at this facility. My main concern is that resident and family requests are not always given the care and attention that they require, but overall, this is a very nice facility!

I liked the marketing director that helped me decide to move in, however he is no longer working here. They are looking for a cook. The food is ok. There is a high turnover with the servers at this community. They have had some changes in management as well. They offer a lot of activities and the community is kept clean.

When we toured this community my mom was not happy with they had to offer. The basics were good but she didn't see what she liked and decided to pick a different community.

I toured this community. I was not happy with this community due to the staff. I did like the community being clean and it is a new community. The community had a lot of activities that he would have been offered. The staff was not honest and the cost was more then what we wanted at this time. I would recommend

The people who does the tours tell you everything about Magnolia Heights and an awful lot of things that are not true. They say many Programs they provide and in reality they do not. I would not recommend this place to my very worst enemy, well next to my worst enemy. Staff and cleanliness is very good more especially the ones we have now. their menu leaves a lot to be desired as they have a very hard time trying to give those that need a special diet. I continually leave the table hungry as by the time I can get the proper food it is cold or not really editable at least to my liking. The BIG draw back is the PARKING. There isn't enough parking for the residents let alone all the health aides coming and going. There is only about 6 handicap locations and many need them and more are needed to where handicap people that can't walk to far closer to their apartments. That is a very big thing to the barley able to walk people. Now available only at front door.

I think there are more residents leaving than choosing to live here. Staff will not answer direct questions about the problems, making me feel I'm a loser for even asking. Food service and cleaning staff are stretched too thin. No flexibility in when you can dine, unless you wish to pay $5.00 to get your food "to go." This isn't the way I choose to be treated.

These folks were so nice to give me a buzz during the hurricane to ask if I needed anything, makes me think they really care about people.

I took a tour of this community and I did like it for the most part. The community is a little older, but they always have it clean and neat. They also have nice rooms that are spacious that my loved and I liked.

Met with Alice today. The place is large. My favorite parts were the movie theater. popcorn machine and soft-serve ice cream. There was a fire pit outside too. When entering the building, the dining area is immediately to the right. The 1 bedroom I saw seemed small. Lots of closet space. Balconies are available but there is a waiting list for those.

The set up of the community felt like an institution. I was not very impressed with what they had to offer. The guide mentioned that in the future it would be a high traffic area with many businesses around. The meal plan offered only consisted of one meal included per day. Overall the place was clean and the staff met during the tour were nice. For the future when many businesses are around that won't work for me.

Heatherwood is an attractive, clean and friendly place. However, the food is not appropriate for elders, especially those on special diets. While I can appreciate that it must be hard to please all, I don;t think it's too much to ask that there is an alternative simple option at every meal. There have been several cooks in the past year - none seem to be able to get it right. Not sure if it's the menus sent from central office or lack of ability of those hired, but something is wrong. Retired folks look forward to a decent hot meal and given that the monthly rent includes 3 meals, this is not unreasonable. Please fix the food so I can recommend Heatherwood to my friends for their parents. It is otherwise a well run and attractive facility.

The facility is very nice and clean. The staff is very friendly. Great location. While these things are excellent, the food could definitely be a lot better. A lot of the residents feel this way.

Food was great on our initial visit and for the first month my father lived here. Since then there have been 3 chefs and food is just OK. Parking is difficult when you visit and there aren't enough spaces for residents, staff and visitors. On the plus side, the facility is nice, clean and grounds are well kept but for the amount of $ my dad pays, I expect better food. Seems as if the facility grew too fast?

They are friendly. [removed] They are Adventist, so they don't serve pork in the lunchroom and the food, my mom says, is sub-standard, which is her biggest complaint.

I stayed here when I was recovering from radiation. It is why I am in no hurry to go to another facility of same type.

Of those visited, the most affordable other than low-income rentals. Private pay only. Some units attractive. In a corporate park. Dull walking. Strange dining area like hotel lobby. Poor activities. Free stays elsewhere incl. UK.

We've had somewhat of a mixed experience with Summerville Estates, I don't know if it is a good fit for my loved one. The facility itself is clean and well kept, and the staff are all very very friendly and professional. However, there are a few things that really bring the whole experience down. The residents here can be very cliquish, it's been hard for my loved one to meet people, or find people to sit with for meals. And the meal schedule here is VERY regimented, the times are very strict and there are no real choices in terms of food. I also think they need to be a bit more thorough with their assessment of care levels for residents, there are a few people I've seen here who very obviously should be in a memory care facility. Another complaint I have is that they play muzak quite loudly in all of the hallways, it is loud enough that I can hear it through the door in my loved ones apartment, and I really wish they'd just cut that off entirely.

Great if your love one does not need wheelchair transportation. If loved one is mobile this is a great place, if loved one needs extra care - this is not the place.
