My mom lives there. She hasn't complained. The one thing is if you request something to be corrected like a leaky faucet or something it takes several days for them to do. That's why I give them a 4.5 so it's really not that bad. I think one thing that is spectacular is that when people come in the door of the place it feels like a vacation. My mother's friends have commented that they're surprised with the price for what they get. They go to the casino. I know they went to Eugene and shopping. They have music during the week and bingo. They had a Saturday tailgater for the Oregon and Oregon State game. They have happy hour, I think it's Thursdays.

I do not have the exact room size, but for a 1 bedroom it has plenty of storage and a nice size living area with kitchenette. The staff is wonderful and very responsive if a need arises. There is a schedule of activities posted and there is always something seasonal scheduled. One thing that I have been so grateful for is the number of staff that pop in to check on momma. She refuses to go eat downstairs so they don't see her everyday. They make sure to put eyes on her daily to make sure she is ok. The facility is extremely clean and the grounds are well maintained. They also come in and clean weekly, changing out her sheets and towels. They vacuum and dust. They also take out her trash daily. She has a nice size balcony with room for a conversation set.

The staff was very friendly. They have "ambassadors " who are residents that sit with you and share their experiences . That was nice. The room that Sdam and Shirley got was a one bedroom handicapped accessible which was important as Adam needs to sit in the shower. Having no bathtub to step into was important. The rooms are small and compact. Everything is very clean. My only observation that was less than desirable was the food quality. But I'm an old restaurant owner and I simply expect better food.

My sister was the resident there. Staff was attentive and helpful. She didn't participate in activities. She never ate food there. They took relatively good care and cleaned. Room was nice size. Hope that helps.

If not for the food would have given it a 5. So I gave it 4+. Overall good. The quality in showering is lacking, whereas TLC favors quantity over quality. But other than the 2 issues am very happy here. Then music days run by Vince are par excellant.

Stopped in unannounced and was given the royal treatment. It is obvious the residents love the facility. It was a toss up between Steeplechase and it's sister facility, Carriage House, next door. The pricing being basically the same we went with the newer property for my Mom. I would highly recommend both facilities. Many thanks

Mom thinks she should be on her own which isn't realistic so she'd say differently than we would. Staff is great and seem very caring. Food and activities are great for her. Her biggest complaint would be having to rely on a bus schedule not at her whim since she can't drive on her own.

Because I was falling a lot- I thought I should move to a facility that could help elderly people. I somehow misunderstood that the nurses "on site" were residents and not service providers. I am 83 years old, but am very healthy, active and very independent. I walk my dogs over a mile every day. The facility at Hessler Heights was extremely clean, the food was excellent and I found every single staff member (including the maintenance people) very friendly and always helpful. I don't think any of them knew the word "no". [name removed] , one of the Managers, was extremely efficient, gracious and helpful. In all my years of working (over 65 years) I have never met a more pleasant, kind or helpful staff! Unfortunately, I was not ready for the regiment of the meals ( which were all excellent), the constant waiting at the elevators and the health issues that many residents had. Although I had visited the facility 3 times, and had asked many questions, I was not prepared. And so because of my different needs, I only stayed at Hessler Heights for a short time. I had absolutely no problem with any staff when I advised them I was moving back to my old apartment. I gave proper notice and was refunded all of my money. The owner of the Company (of which there are about 40 facilities nationwide) has instilled his personal philosophy - which is " People first.. then everything else will turn out well". They practice what they preach! I would recommend Hessler Heights to anyone... but be sure you are ready.

The facility itself is very nice and has a pleasant environment. I do wish there were more activities available for residents, as additional opportunities for engagement would be beneficial. I would also appreciate a system that allows staff to check on every resident daily to help ensure their well-being and provide peace of mind for families.

The staff is pleasant, friendly, and helpful. I really appreciate the bright, airy feel of the building and the library. There are plenty of activities and outings for residents, along with daily movies in their movie theater and a large screened pool. The apartment sizes vary, with different options including studios, one-bedrooms, and two-bedrooms. My dad’s one-bedroom apartment is very roomy and has plenty of storage. He especially loves the bright, open feel of the apartment.

Apartments are nice size and the facility is clean and beautiful. Food is hit or miss. It seems like as they are filling up the relatively new facility they are experiencing some growing pains administratively. It is good for those that need a simpler lifestyle but not daily medical assistance. Overall it is a good value for the money and a perfect fit for my parents.

It's good,4-5,but they are talking about a rent raise. I will have to vacate if they do. The studio apt size is fine. a small kitchenette sink, counter. nice bathroom, roomy shower. Staff is friendly when they aren't busy. Place is clean. Food is good. Lots of different activities. I recommend it.

The facility was very bright and welcoming. It did not appear as a hotel as other facilities did. You are very friendly and inviting (most facilities were), and so were your residents, who appeared slightly younger and more vivacious than other facilities. I have nothing against that except that’s what I was looking for. Question: if I show up late for dinner or lunch (say, 15 minutes) do I get denied service? And if I fall, does someone there help? That was a concern of my as you call yourselves an unassisted facility on the cover of your folder.

From mom: "The staff is terrific, the food is good. It's clean and they have activities but they don't push you to do more than you want. It's nice and clean too."

Food is good. We often join him for dinner and feel very welcome. The apt size is appropriate for what he needs. [name removed] seems to enjoy the staff he deals with

Carriage House has a clean and comfortable atmosphere and is a moderate size - no endless hallways. The two features we appreciate are first that Managers live in house to be available for help. And second, although It is independent living, residents are allowed to age in place with outside care. This could prevent painful and costly transitions. The food is very good. There are many activities, and the staff is very friendly. We did notice some neglected areas outdoors, but the covered pool area appeared to be well maintained.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Residents seem to be nice. Yes, we would recommend this community to other families based on the experience so far.

It is light and bright. They enjoy all the food choices. They have plenty of activities. Salon on site has been nice. My dad enjoys the ice cream machine. The down side is only one elevator for the whole complex. They handyman is very busy and it takes a while to get things fixed. Lunch can take an hour to get served. I would recommend it. The cost was a big factor. I like the assisted part of it is as needed instead of paying for it monthly whether you need it or not

Oaks well decorated, excellent grounds, positive staff, on-site 24 hrs management, super clean, long term residents , fun

The staff was incredibly pleasant. I did not care for the floor plans, not enough counter space in 1 BR’s. Apartments had individual AC units but I think central AC would make it easier to control comfort.
