Overall, Cottonwood Estates is a good place for my mother. They do need to work on the meals. There are times when the meals are not the greatest. The thing about the meals is that when my mom first started living there the meals were very good, but I think the good chef left. If they could just find a good chef, that would be great just a turnover problem.

Love the facility. Was given incentives to sign contract the day of my tour. I was unable to keep the terms of the contract and move in on the date stated b/c I could not downsize and get house on the market in time. I left message for director informing him and asked what we could do as I still wanted to live there. Any chance of changing the date? I had not submitted my deposit check as I had a family emergency and was helping with a relative with dementia and was carrying the check around in my purse. Manager got in touch and said he would contact regional sales manager and call me back.there was no further contact.

My Aunt loves her apartment and has really embraced living there. The staff are caring and accommodating. The atmosphere is beautiful and for the most part, the food is pretty good. The new chef is doing a good job and cares how the residents feel about her food. This is a nice touch. My only ‘complaint’ would be that we should have been given a deadline to receive VA funding before being responsible on our own. The VA process is long and is out of our control. Other than that, it is a very lovely place and they really have tried to be accommodating, for which we are grateful.

They listened to what you had to say and checked it out and replied accordingly. The residents all seemed very happy from our first visit.

Well first of all, the lower rating for the meals have to do with my wife's meal that I pick up for her that always has left over dessert and sometimes without the drink that we asked for. In short I like everything about Sterling Heights right down to the kind people that I deal with. My wife and I see it as our city of refuge. What a wonderful place to live.

We lived there for 2 years and we went through about 50 sets of managers. Some of the people started acting like they were in charge and some small fights happened. I do miss my friends it had turned into not a nice place.

The atmosphere is very bright and inviting. Resident are friendly. Staff are helpful. They could improve on the food by buying more quality meats. I also think sometimes the presentation could be better. They really do pretty well for the most part!

I asked my mother-in-law and she stated that she liked the environment. She liked socializing with the other residents. The food definitely needs to be improved the activities were fine.

They turnover in management, they are all nice, but there seems to be new ones. At least 3 or 4 in the last year The food is not good, some residents go to the meetings but it doesn't get better. I am sure, like most places they have high turnover. My loved one fixes her own meals which depletes finances.

Overall experience has been very good. There are some areas that could be a little better kept. Main one is the laundry room. Everyone is very nice Quality of care is good. Food could be better. The meals are a little too trendy for a bunch of older people. Activities are great Value is good Overall I'm pleased with the facility. Like anything else in life it's a challenge to keep good talent and maintain a property. No one is perfect!

I would recommend to others. We picked this community because of the availability and cost.

Management has changed a few times in the year I've been here Friendly staff I was disappointed that, even though it is advertised as independent living, it really isn't because there are still a lot of people who get food delivered to their rooms and never come to the activities

Transportation services are great for those who are capable of climbing stairs. Like everywhere staff is key and with one exception the staff are the best I've seen. – Responsive, caring, thorough, and committed. Food is a range between adequate and good. There are many options to help picky eaters.

He was lonely, and was also unwilling to make the most of a sad situation. He did not participate as he found it boring? Maybe that was his personality. I think I would if they were social people....I think its depressing for any older person to go from their home to an unfamiliar place but from what I saw it's one of the nicer ones for the money

The meals could be fresher and healthier but the people there are very nice. We would recommend Alexis Estates Gracious Retirement to other families, however it would depend on their loved ones needs.

My experience has been favorable overall. I really would like an upgrade in food and dining services. I would recommend it to others.

Deseret Springs is a great place to live. The start are wonderful. There are lots of activities there every day. The food is pretty good. And they have a van that takes us to appointments. My appointment is very nice. It is quite small but it really nice.

Staff very caring and concerned about their residence. [name removed] was especially wonderful.

My family member is not happy with the meals. Do check CS out, it was certainly the best of 3 nearby area that we looked at. Situated in a nicely landscaped area/location with grocery, drugstore, restaurants neaby. And they just re did all common areas with new paint, carpeting, furniture, lighting. Friendly people living there.

Not a great setup for hearing impaired. The food definitely needs to be improved. That's the complaint I hear the most from all the residents. However, we would recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had.
