The cost compared to other facilities was good especially with all of the activities they offer. It's a beautiful place. The downside to us was how we were told they transition to memory care. That was a big point for us as we knew that day was coming. Their "transition" was not moving to another part of the facility but instead we were told we had to hire a home health care nurse.

The meals and dining is rated a 3 because of the high staff turnover. The staff is really nice. Family vibe. The food is an issue, kitchen/chef turnover. They have a new crew, hope that helps. Yes, we would recommend the community to other families.

While the dining experience leave a lot to be desired, it is adequate. The most impressive factor to me is the staff. They try to be as accommodating as possible without being pushy or bossy. They have been very responsive to my needs while allowing me the freedom to exercise my individual will and needs.

The only things I graded less than five were, the food, which there is really a good variety. It is mostly personal preference by those that live there. My brother would like a little more variety, but he really does appreciate the effort they make. The other is the bedbug problem that keeps coming up. I know you are trying to take care of that, but it is a concern. But we feel very fortunate that you are there to offer this kind of a facility and service

Very helpful staff; However, I am aware of at least 3 "vendors" who seem to be predatory or at least careless. One lady offers laundry services but lost many new clothes and also had a turn-around of more than a week sometimes. Another guy that I saw often there (not a resident) is a known moocher. But I guess it's hard to catch those types of opportunists.

The staff have been great for the most part. Just wish people wouldn't keep leaving! The food is terrible and mom says half the time she doesn't eat dinner because it's gross. I do wish the refrigerators in the rooms were larger. Overall the experience of moving mom in was great. The person who helped us understand what the offered and the amenities was especially awesome.

Can't really judge the others at this point. It is hard to say what we like the most about the community so far since she's only been there a short time. The activities seem good and so far yes, we would recommend this community to other families.

Meals are overall good but serving takes much too long. At least an hour and a half spent in the dining room for each meal (dinner & supper). They also need to use technology for communications, especially text instead of the antique p.a. system for announcements. Maintenance takes too long to respond and repairs are often iffy.

My mother-in-law really likes it. My aunt complains that the food is salty. Apparently the dining room is going to be without air conditioning for up to four months so that's an inconvenience.

Very nice. Food is good. Staff very friendly. Clean facilities. Accessible and comfortable.. rooms are spacious.and warm. well maintained. Balcony is very nice. Staff knows you by name. Cares about residents.

They don't have a van with a wheelchair lift. So when they have outdoor activities, my mom is stuck at the facility. Staff has been wonderful. My mom can be a handful sometimes and they always take the time to help her with her needs. My mom was in rehab for 3 months and she got $5 off a day for not being there, which I guess is better than nothing. Slow service in the dining room. Residents are always complaining on how long they have to wait for their meals

The facility is very open and bright. The managers and assistant managers live on premises, so they are always available when needed. The staff are friendly and hard-working. And there is a strong sense of community here.

My mom has been there a year and has seems to like the place. She is very active with playing cards, dominoes, and bingo. They take her places when needed and is clean when I'm visiting. She seems to like the food and always has 2 choices at the meals. One complaint she does have is the weekly cleaning of her room but she has addressed that and it was dealt with. They do seem to have several different people working and so I'm not sure what the reason for leaving.

The budget is surely the deciding factor on food served in the dining room. We also have inferior toilet paper (2nds that is SO thin it dissolves the second it touches your skin). The activity room was closed two months due to no heat only to have a water leak once the heat was fixed. The kitchen is too small to have the equipment needed to keep food warm and more than likely does not meet health standards. The fruit left out for the residents (which is about the only opportunity for consuming this type of produce) appears to be seconds or rejects from mainstream produce and often rots before it ripens or is rotten when it's left out for us. This building is too new to have so many problems. We're told our location is a teaching facility. Is this why we can't keep management staff more than a few weeks? This should be categorized as a 75+ facility not a 55+ as the median age is around 80. NO ONE here looks like me. This seems like a place to wait out death. Sadly it's obvious that this is a Corporate run facility (Hawthorn) and those in charge just far enough removed they don't have to see how their cheapskate antics affect the residents. For the rent charged I would expect to be treated better than a second class citizen. I assumed this facility endorsed by [name removed]would be top notch. I know there are gaps in anything but in a year I've never seen any change in procedures that have made a positive impact on the day to day interaction between staff and tenants.

What I like the most about Maple Ridge is the access to do what you want. Need to adjust thermostat to weather changes to keep open areas and hallways comfortable

The staff is generally very friendly. They try to be helpful and present a friendly environment. Administration has changed rapidly during my stay - The office staff has been 'tested'.) I have, for the most part, enjoyed my stay. . I believe it is a nice facility, especially for those who are mobile. Everyone here is expected to take care of themselves.

Great place and location but the food is just not good at all - almost always the hot meals are luke warm to cold and the quality is lacking in every regard. Yes, I would recommend this community to other families, but the dining and food is an issue

Local and regional management are helpful, friendly, and quite competent. Corporate are a pain. Also very penurious. Physical plant is attractive and well kept, as is the large yard with patio and various. I would choose The Carriage House again.

I would like to see more activities through the week including another night of poker, more trivia, more [name removed] and other Western movies. More amount of food for lunch and dinner would also be good.

The amenities and the overall cleanliness of the facility were the main reasons we went with Summerville Estates over other places we looked at. Staff is very helpful. They work hard and are pleasant to be around.
