Our experience with the Brookdale Owatonna was terrible, I wouldn't wish it on anyone. In will start off by saying the staff and nurse were great. They took very good care of my father while he was there. The place was clean and well maintained. The bad part was their sales guy [Removed]. He got us in there with fake promises. He told us a certain price and when we moved in, it was much more! He made us move my father in, hang up pictures, and make his apartment home! He should not work there! He lied to us.

Overall I was not impressed by our experience with Brookdale Ravenna. Our loved one was in their memory care section, which really could use some work. It seemed like it was just what was previously an assisted living wing converted into memory care. There was only a single common area, which was used as both the activity room and dining room. The actual staff and the care they provided was about average, but it was just not a very pleasant setting. I also wasn't very impressed by the quality of the food.

My mother has lived here since July and our experience has not been that great. There has been more than one issue with medical and medicine management, which is an additional charge, since she's been there. The disconnect with administration and family is also an issue. Overall truly not pleased and that is unfortunate because the location is ideal. Hopefully these issues can be resolved so that she can remain a resident. She seems to like the hands on caregivers well so that is not an issue and the meals are also good as are in house activities but those are critical issues as are medical management and healthcare. Facility fairly well kept and her first unit was immaculate second unit not so much. Overall experience would be rated as unsatisfactory in the areas mentioned.

They have had a very high turnover rate of employees which has noticeably impacted the service they provide and the experience of the residents. Every time I made a phone call there to inquire about my brother, the person I needed to speak to either was not there or was in a meeting. I could never get a hold of the person I needed to speak to. There were also instances where they said they would do something and did not deliver. When I first placed my brother in there I had a very good impression, but there have been a few issues since then. The facility itself is nice, and the grounds they are on are lovely. My brother likes to walk on the trails that they have out there. That is one thing that has been very nice. So they are good in ways, but certainly have room to improve.

Don't do it! And, if you do, be sure to monitor your billing.

This hasn't been the best experience. They haven't done a very good job keeping up with the two hour checks and making sure that the residents are changed on a regular basis. This can cause UTI's which can really do some damage. They also haven't been great about keeping the laundry together, even with the name and initials on everything, the clothes do eventually come back though. They also have a staff meeting everyday at 2:00 and the entire staff disappears for about an hour.

Very expensive! Not worth it. Too far away from the family and the hospital.

This is place where the staff are amazing at their job, they help when needed and have run short. I have seen this when I have visited my loved one. Management sits in the office; I didn't even know who the nurse was for the longest time. It is sad to see dedicated staff but not management. The food needs help and the activties need help. They have a bus that they don't use. The new company is a poor excuse for a company. A shame to see a new company take over and it's still no better than before.

This place has recently changed ownership. The new owners are clearly pinching pennies. Staff is poorly supervised. Food used to be good but is now terrible. Serving highly salted and seasoned food to people with health issues is just plain stupid. There are a few good people working here but they are a tiny minority. Stay away from this place.

My Dad is a resident here. It's beautiful and clean facility. Unfortunately we are going to have to move him. The constant staff turnover is a huge issue. The regularly skip giving him meds and have double up his meds other times.

The staff that i met visiting was very nice. I didn't like that it looked really dark. Meals were only served two times a day. The tour guide was very knowledgeable he was able to explain all the paperwork good. They did offer a complimentary meal during the tour. The community was nice and clean.

Family member in memory care unit. Activities for these patients is minnimal. Cleanliness of facility is below average. Meals were below average. Obviously meals are served with cost in mind and not nutrition. Meals typically are low quality and not well balanced.

Our mother moved into the Assisted Living part of the facility about 3.5 years ago. We chose this facility because she had Alzheimers and we knew eventually she would need to be moved into the Memory Care Unit. We were somewhat satisfied for the first few years, but the latter part of 2015, we noticed the care and cleanliness had declined considerably. When we addressed each time, we were given lots of excuses and assured they would be fixed. Needless to say they finally were fixed 3 days before our mother passed away. The manager of the facility was not very pleasant.

Sleek warehouse. Pretty but dysfunctional. The employees are very nice, but the system is broken. Nurses in assisted living are pill dispensers only, not alert for problems. That is when nurses are on duty which is not the case all the time as per their literature. Administrators disorganized. 3 months after insurance forms submitted they are still not returned to insurance company.

We have had a horrible experience with Red Cedar Glen. We are moving my mother out. They have had major changes in staff both nurse directors have left they have cut staff there is not enough nurses or care givers to take care of the residents. Care is bad cleanliness is not good. I have a list of things that have happened I can email you. You do not need to be referring patients to this facility.

Robin Way will lie to you and claim to be an “age in place” facility. But what they really are is an “age in place until you run out of money” facility. My mom has been a resident at RW for 2 years. In July I put [name removed] on notice that mom would be transitioning to Medicaid sometime around October. We received a 30 day eviction notice on [date removed]. Coincidence? I think not. Mom has been struggling a little with the onset of dementia and [name removed]used that as an excuse to evict her. Mom’s room was frequently filthy. Sticky floors, black mold on the window frames, moldy food in the fridge. Mom once fell and cut herself. The pool of blood stayed on her bed and the floor for more than a week until i threatened to call the state and complain. Meals were awful. Hot food served cold, frequent thin lukewarm soup, lots of sandwiches and non nutritious food. They do the bare minimum of care. Mom got a shower maybe twice a month. Don’t put your loved one here. It’s awful.

We ended up not placing our family member there. Administrative staff were not friendly or caring. I'm so happy we found out before it was too late. We found another bright, happy and loving facility for our loved one.

The dining experience was the worse. No matter how many suggestions or complaints nothing changed. The dining room staff was short handed when we moved in and still the same when we moved out 8 months later. There were couple of days when the cook was the only person to show up for breakfast.

What stood out most is the food is horrible and most of the staff are not professional.

This place is a clear bait and switch. They tell you things before you sign the lease, and on day one, you see that the things said to you are not true. The upper manager is either incompetent or doesn't care. You tell her complaints about her care staff, and there is a blank stare on her face. The food is atrocious. You can't get hot soup if you want to. If you ask to have food warmed up, the staff tells you to warm it yourself. No one changes the bed lines. If they wash your linens, they fold them and leave them on the floor for the resident to put away. If you ask for help, the staff says you are independent and can do it yourself. I had a staff, [name removed]and [name removed], tell me that. [name removed] can never help because she is too busy blabbing about how it’s just her working with 75 patients. When you take the complaints to those in charge, they make excuses. After a while, you realize you are in the wrong place. We moved my loved one out faster than we moved her in.
