The only reason this facility is getting 2 stars is because of the pretty building and the wonderful Concierges. Problems with Longleaf Liberty Park... Breach of /Agreement/Contract, Damages to personal property, retaliation, mismanaged meds on 2 occassions that I'm aware of and promises not kept. I moved my mother out of this facility and paid rent to fulfill the 30 day agreement. I specifically told them my plans and not to do anything with the remaining personal items before the agreement date ended as it would take me some time to move her. Well, the staff didn't get wind of that and damages occurred, and I was not compensated because [name removed] devalued my mother's belongings. The time together that my mom and I spent buying decorations and decorating her Christmas tree is sad for me. My mother loved that tree. I was asked the value and it was not accepted by [name removed]. I guess he knows best. So here I am today with NOTHING. No tree, sadness and no money to replace it. When filing complaints,

If you’re looking for a facility that genuinely provides assisted living, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere. My grandmother lived here for a period of time, and I had a security camera installed in her room due to a traumatic experience at a previous facility. What I observed was extremely disheartening and deeply concerning—not based on hearsay or memory, but on actual recorded evidence. Approximately half of the staff showed a clear lack of compassion and professionalism. Even more disappointing was that this attitude extended to some administrators as well. My grandmother was often treated like a burden for asking for help—whether it was requesting her prescribed inhaler or reporting burning pain during urination. Instead of receiving care, she was made to feel guilty or “needy” for expressing serious health concerns. On more than one occasion, she was threatened by staff that if she continued calling for help, she’d be left out in the dining room so they wouldn't have to

We had a problem when mom fell and had to go to hospital and rehab. After that with no warning they declined taking her back. We had to find another Alf for her. Be very thorough during the contacting phase. Be sure you are aware that they have a 13 minute rule that a patient has to be able to exit the building. Also understand what criteria they use to determine "not fit for ALF". Also ensure you understand what activities are being included in the extra service fee

Don’t let the prestigious “Chagrin Falls” address fool you into thinking this is any kind of an upscale facility. In many ways I found it to deliver substandard care, mostly due to the utter laziness of the care staff. I had to hire outside staff to come in to due things that fell into what the facility was supposed to be doing. Mother left wet and uncared for often, primarily due to laziness of care staff coupled with poor care plan by facility. Promises to improve by department supervisors and director unmet. They do provide plenty of food, however institutionalized and usually cold on delivery. CHICKEN, CHICKEN, CHICKEN!!! Serious lack of parking at entrance. Been told employees not permitted to park there but not enforced. Witness staff playing on cell phones often despite no need to use for job. Experienced rough handling by staff, resulting in bruising and traumatizing of resident. Staff not held responsible for serious oversights in base care. No complaint system in place. MORE!

I'm not too impressed with Hamlet. They are old apt building, and for the cost to live. Food at atrium is very bland.

Elevator out almost a week, frequent busproblems,poor food and often run out of daily specials.

Very strange interactions with the team there. I didn't trust them. We picked Highpoint because that is where Mom and her husband felt most comfortable.

Be careful what you get yourself into. My mother passed in March - the employees stole her furniture and slashed her belongings all over her room before we got to her room. Even her pictures and Valentines gifts were all over the floor. We finally were able to meet with the director, who was an absolute disgrace. A regional director did meet with us and was attempting to make multiple amends.

My mom has lived here for 2 years and I had my fair share of complaints but [Name Removed],the director at the time would always try to fix issues and listen to me and the caregivers concerns.Day or night she was amazing giving it 100%. She sincerely cared for the community and I reached out to express my concerns with her leaving and management didn’t care.Since then I’ve noticed more and more of the flaws. The floor staff are amazing, they put in countless hours and really care about all the residents and my mom. They can’t keep a nurse longer than 3 months, my mom’s meds were not working like we had hoped and the clinical staff didn’t try to dig deep to figure out the root cause. The dietary staff are very rude (from the dietary director to the pm server) and the food is not worth the cost. [Name Removed]the cook is amazing with the residents. The sales lady walks around and cant have a real conversation with the residents or the families and doesn’t know the residents names. I hope things change??

They really oversell the cleaning of the rooms, laundry service and compassion of the staff. The sales director is amazing, the executive director is ok, and the office manager is not a people person. I'm in HR and I feel like her delivery is very passive aggressive. My dad was never late on his rent except the last two months bc of funding and trying to time his move with availability of assisted living. She is so hateful. He's now at [facility name removed] and the staff is much friendlier and so much more compassionate. Night and day difference. He loves it. He was so ready to move from RCG. For the money they charge for independent living I would recommend someone simply getting a really luxurious apartment outside of senior community. They don't clean rooms or do laundry as we had been told. They don't check on the people each morning as they said they did. I'm not a complainer but I just knew it was a matter of time before I blew up on the office manager [name removed]

Memory care is routinely understaffed as reported my employees who say they are overwhelmed with responsibilities. Ratio of "care partners" to residents seems to be 1:12, where I should be 1:6. Also it's my experience daily enrichment actives are canceled for vague or unknown reasons leaving memory care residents idle with only the TV as their "activity" for days up to a week or longer. The only memory care patio is walled off with a privacy fence making their outdoor area much like just another room with limited to no visibility of nature or the feeling of being outside.

Palmetto landing was very 50/50 for me. It's aged, a lot, and visually it appears a little tired. Little things like stains on the carpet, smells in some places. Staff seemed very kind, and all the residents I saw seemed happy.

Aldea Green smelled like pee. All the residents gathered in the center atrium by the entrance, they looked bored & uninspired. It made me sad though, I liked that room the best & I liked that it was a smaller community.

I had a negative tour experience with Lighthouse Senior Living. The facility was not clean, staff and residents were not nice, and they only had 1 working elevator. I did not like anything about this facility, it kind of seemed like a dump. It made all of the others we looked at look amazing.

During the initial visit, HP talked up the amazing food. It's average at best.

This community was not community orientated and felt more like a hospital with medical carts in the hallways. There also was a high sales pitch which was uncomfortable to me. The community was also older and could have used some updates.

The staff members were awesome, and I never really got to eat the meals there except during the lock down and the food was good. I do wish they had more activities while i was there, but the activities were limited. When they did offer them up it was on a first come first serve bases so you had to hurry and sign up. The price was way to high, but it really was a home away from home.

The community said they would have no problem taking care of my father, but 6 months later there was an ownership change and the staff started being rude to my father, and he wasn't being taken care of. I was told he was getting too bad and needed a skilled facility and was given a 45-day notice. They have charged for a full month even though he was only there for 7 days. I would not recommend this facility.

The staff at Timberdale was wonderful; they are always there when my dad needed something and were always pulling crazy shifts and still doing their job. Management sits in the office, you never see they around; I finally met the nurse after a few months of my dad being there. The staff are running short especially on the weekends. The food is not worth what you pay for. It is sad to see the staff working hard and management not caring, just staying in the office. Timberdale was Brookdale Senior Living and from what I have seen, Timberdale is no better than when it was Brookdale. I only reason I kept my dad there was because of the staff on the floor. Otherwise the building is not worth your money.

My loved one was in the memory care unit (the Village) at Lighthouse Senior Living. Before you put your loved one in the Village, you need to invest some hours on each of several days and nights to observe the level of care that is provided. Observe meal time. Observe the care that is provided between meals. Observe how the various and individual needs of the residents are addressed. Observe the interactions among residents. Observe the contentment/wellbeing of the residents. Observe the interactions among staff. Observe the contentment of the staff. Observe several hours on each shift, 7-3, 3-11, 11-7. Ask questions about [removed] ratios (for each shift), [removed] ratios (for each shift). Ask questions about the rate of resident falls, intestinal illnesses, bruises, skin tears, 911 trips to the hospital. Understand what expectations Lighthouse holds with regard to the wellbeing of the residents. Only then will you be able to decide if your expectations can be met by Lighthouse.
