Greenbrier Senior Living

There have been some plumbing issues for months. It has taken a while for the facility to address. They also had staffing issues that caused lapses in lab work being timely and personal attention to residents. I believe that is ok now. The cost is what really stuck out about Red Cedar Glen. My mother did not want anything that was too fancy or too costly. She has settled in quite nicely at RCG. The staff are all very caring.

Great and caring facility! Would not hesitate to go back. Friendliness from all staff and home like environment. Liked how Everything is on ground level.

I think the facility is a great place for seniors that don't have the angry dementia issues that my brother in law had. There's so many activities to occupy them but he didn't have the mental status to enjoy them.

They are very kind and caring. The food is good. I would recommend it and have.

Very nice, most of the residents are very nice as are the staff Apartment sizes are great. There are many activities provided and lots of things to do.

My mother's major complaint is the quality, quantity of the food. Too many repeat meals. She also wants more activities.

Friendly staff, very helpful. My move in couldn't have been any better. The food, for the most part, was disgusting and never ready at scheduled times. For the most part I had food delivered. I also think someone needs to escort new people around for more than a day. I never even got that.

It is a beautiful space with a very helpful staff. The staffs were lovely everywhere we went, but this facility was the nicest. Spacious and light and it smelled better. Overall a newer, fresher look. Also it allows more freedom for the residents at meal time. No assigned time or seat and a variety of food to choose from.

Staff are very friendly and seem to truly care about the residents and their well being. There are many activities that my family member participates in regularly (morning exercise, afternoon crafts, weekly church service viewing). The initial move in process was a bit chaotic, but after a few months my family member, and I, are learning the routine. I would recommend the facility to others.

It's been really good for mama. They are very kind and attentive. What sticks out most is just the kindness that the staff shows towards all of the residents.

We don't worry about mom. We know she is getting her medication, has a regular schedule, and there is always someone there. Plus the atmosphere of the place is wonderful. They have lots of activities and outings and the decor is what she remembers from the 1940's. She's happy there.

Our family really likes the big rooms in the apartments with the large bathrooms. The French doors opening to the private patio is nice as well as the walk-in closet. The reason we gave the overall experience a 4 is because they were in the process of getting a new director. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to others .

My loved one is currently a resident at Red Cedar Glen and overall her experience at this facility has been pretty good so far. The staff have all been mostly cordial when I have spoken to them. All in all, the friendliness at this facility seems okay. The cleanliness and the food are good. The activities and value for cost are okay. I would probably recommend Red Cedar Glen to family and friends.

I like that they had therapy on-site. Smaller community was also a selling point. Their marketing person [name removed]was also top notch and was quite instrumental in convincing me this would be a good spot for my Mom. She has since left.

We do like the friendliness of the staff. They do seem to care. My father is not high maintenance for them but they try on the maintenance he does need and they show him respect. Cleanliness is ok but the room could be done somewhat better. I think shortcuts are being done and he doesn't have slot in his room. We were told the bed would be changed weekly, but we,ve been doing it bi-weekly. They don't stick to the activity schedule even the updated one. The one activity they do all the time is bingo and i know several of the residents done like bingo. Its schedule for an hour and runs through the next activity and that one gets omitted. On the whole we are glad we put dad there as for a care facility it does meet his needs and more importantly, he's happy.

What we like the most about the Hearth Brook community is that they have positive and effective ways of dealing with non conformist and agitated behavior. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families who are looking for a place for their loved ones.

As far as value for cost goes we got off to a rocky start but the staff members worked our problems out. They don't have any activities that she can do. This is why they received a 4 and not a 5. However based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend the community to other families.

I think like most places, they struggle with being understaffed. My mom is upstairs in assisted living. The nurses have all been very friendly and kind. I've never felt like my mother was unsafe there. They've always had plenty of activities downstairs but recently they started doing more upstairs which I love because my mom doesn't always feel comfortable going downstairs. Thinking back to when she started there, there was quite a bit left out of orientation so you're kind of on your own to figure out how to get things done thought you just have to keep asking questions. One thing that I wish they did was to offer times to review residents care with the family, at least in assisted living. I know that would be helpful for me and for my mom.

Community has lots of areas to be with friends. They are refreshing with new paint and have had much better and consistent staff. They have an alert system where a resident can push a button to get assistance. My Mom is in the assisted living section. I do not have experience with the memory care section. Mom complains about the food being 'gaseous' like broccoli, beans, corn. Don't think the food is what was advertised as being available in café and break areas. Think since COVID, they just haven't gotten back to it. They did raise prices by 10% which was a shock, but we've managed. All in all, I think it is a good fit for Mom.

My loved one is currently a resident at Maris Pointe and everything has been very good for her here at this facility. The staff and housekeeping are very friendly. The meals are okay. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.
