I Considered this a quality facility when I moved in, now years later it has lost its “Grandness”. Yes covid did not help, but cleanliness of the building, has suffered, the landscaping was considered enviable but the courtyard is in need of major help. What was initially fine dining is now basic diner type food, nothing special. And they cannot keep a chef. Overall decor could use a facelift, after 4+ years it’s needs an update. You might ask why am I still here? The residents have become friends. And the economy as it is now keeps me from moving now.

I would recommend you look elsewhere for a place for your loved one. There are times that I have to wait days to get through to the staff to check on my loved one. I don't hear from medical staff on how my loved one is doing, so I hired an outside agency nurse to care for my loved one. The person that is in charge of the entire community has been rude. He was sarcastic and I was surprised by how he treated the family while speaking to him. [name removed] has been great to work with, and [name removed] in the finance department has been good to work with as well.

I feel the money wasn't going towards their residents in memory care. The assisted living was very nice. In the memory care they could do a revamp of décor. I didn't see a lot of the residents during the tour.

I'm still trying to adapt.

Director was friendly. They don’t take people over 64 years. I was not impressed with the entrance and the way the residents seem unprotected sitting on the front. I felt they were vulnerable.

The location was hosting a cookout on the day I visited, so a large number of the residents were in the common areas. While it was somewhat congested the staff appeared to know each resident by name including any current activity the resident was involved with.

I learned of this facility through this site. It has its ups and downs. They are purposely short staffed, overcrowded, disorganized and not as caring for staff as they advertise. The community areas and dining rooms need regular maintenance. If you can afford better for your loved one, I'd encourage you to look elsewhere.

Emailed me some one else''s appointment email. Tried to make it bether. The 2nd email was worse. Grammar isn't important. Neither is privacy or attention to detail. I wouldn't even go visit in person when she couldn't get the appointment right, and gave out someone else's info. If that's how they are before .....imagine the neglect NY loved one would get.

I felt this facility was somewhat sterile. Not much interaction between residents. Although clean not what I we looking for for my parents.

Terrible first impression, smelled when we walked in the lobby, carpet and decorations are dumpy. Very unorganized, they didn't even know we had a tour scheduled.

My father is a WWII war vet with Dementia. They claim they are a facility that understands and can handle Dementia Patients. Unfortunately, the current facility leaders have shown my father complete disrespect because they are not equipped to handle his moderate dementia nor are they willing to take the advice of his Doctors who feel that now that he is properly medicated, he can continue to reside in the community with little problems. Alexian Village leadership's answer is to give him 30 days to find a new facility....in essence turning their collective backs on Military Veteran and evicting him because they simply don't want the headache of providing a comfortable environment for him.

Mom loved the Grand at first, but it has started to go down hill, [Name removed] the administrator is good at giving lip service without results. I have searched to find the parent company so I could reach out to them but I have been unsuccessful. The facilities are very nice but I am afraid the management is incapable. Be careful if you are considering.

This is a nursing home/not assisted living. Smells from urine are awful/a lot of public aid and hospice . Activities are the same grad school variety,not enough staff,when I did a tour saw alot of wheel chairs/walkers and residents being helped.

I would give a minus 5 stars if I could. My mom lived here for a little over a year. Shortly after moving her in management changed - so did everything else. Mom constantly complained about the food being terrible. Residents constantly were allowed to harass my mother all hours of the day and night. My mom was a smoker and multiple residents came to her begging cigarettes. We reported this to management multiple times. Their response "they are all adults, they need to manage this themselves. We were very clear that she did not have this capability. We were clear about her alzheimer's/dementia when we moved her in. They assured us they could care for all her needs. The onsite nursing team is a joke. Mom needed ear drops, "we can 't do those-family needs to come in". Could not even give an ice pack when my mom had a bad fall. On the subzero temp days mom was not warned to stay in, went outside and had to have ambulance called twice. When the ER needed critical info RN would not respond.

My friend is telling me things that are happening there. For one the Executive Director is only worried about the bottom line. These folks haven't had any trips to Walmart or the Dollar store in many months. They used to go to both once a month. They haven't had an opportunity to go anywhere outside the facility. The food is terrible, and the portions are small. The hot water varies in temperature depending on whether they are doing dishes in the kitchen or not. This place needs a complete investigation by the state and feds.

I strongly encourage families considering Waterford for a loved one to exercise extreme caution. Our family had a deeply troubling experience with Waterford's management, communication, and placement process. Despite going through the application process for the supportive care floors to meet my father’s health and mobility needs, the facility placed him in a unit on the independent living floor instead. To make matters worse, despite his limited mobility, he was assigned a unit at the very end of a long hallway, creating an unnecessary daily physical burden. Throughout his stay, communication from staff and management was virtually nonexistent. Getting basic updates, coordination, or clear answers was an uphill battle. Moving a family member into a community requires trust, clear communication, and a basic duty of care. Waterford failed on all counts. Save your family the stress by choosing a facility that genuinely prioritizes resident safety and responsive management.

If I could give a zero, that would be my rating. I called the state on that facility because my mom had cigarette smoke coming through her vent, her door stayed cracked opened because it needed to be fixed, and the staff yelled at my mom on different occasions. They barely gave my mom showers and had no activities for her. I would never recommend that place to anyone. I wouldn't send my dogs to that place.

What was once a 5-star, beautiful facility with accommodations for independent living, assisted living, and memory care has deteriorated into a 1-star, unsafe, unsanitary, and poorly managed, pest-infested community where seniors are treated with disregard and disrespect by management.

This place accepted my uncle for residency after confirming all of his paperwork was in order. He moved in during [date removed] then in early September he was evicted? Without any warning Roosevelt (Victory Centre) said he had been evicted for none payment of rent and his belongings were tossed in the trash or taken by the staff? Victory should have taken the rent from his account monthly instead of trying to blame it on non payment of rent. Not a nice place if you care about your loved one. They have a very poor way of communicating at this place.

My 96-year-old mother lived here for years. After a dementia diagnosis and falls, we needed 24/7 memory care they couldn’t provide. I gave 30-day written notice on [date removed]— she was hospitalized Sept 24 and never returned. They charged $[removed] for an empty apartment because a 2-year-old lease addendum required 60 days’ notice, even though her lease expired [date removed]. Dining is a disaster: * Meals delayed up to an hour * Paper plates, plastic forks, to-go bags * Residents on walkers fetch their own soup * Servers wear earbuds, slide desserts like a bar * Menus change last-minute, meals canceled if chef doesn’t show Residents fear complaining — afraid of rent hikes or retaliation. Now at [community removed]: real plates, real food, served on time. Mom says: “Better than that other place.” Avoid The Grand at Twin Lakes. Review your lease with a lawyer.
