My mother moved into a really nice brand new apartment in Paradise Village and it is very well done and quite lovely. Everyone there has been very friendly and quite helpful. My only complaint is that when we ate dinner with mom there, there were a few gnats swarming around the kitchen and the food. Nothing major, but enough to be a little disturbing to me. They said they were working to get rid of them. Other than that everything has been great.

They are doing an adequate job. The food was pretty bad in the beginning, but has gotten a lot better recently, after much complaining. They have a good gym, and I appreciate that. They have some classes we are interested in. I would give them a B.

At Emeritus at Sunrise Creek, they were all very helpful with my dad. They were very concerned, and really cared. I had no issues at all.

They had assigned seating for meals and we didn't like that because we thought he would get bored. I think the neighborhood had lots of sidewalks. I have friends who live there, she loves all the people there and she's very friendly and likes it but we didn't like the assigned seating.

We like it! The only thing I don't like as much is the food. I think the food could have more variety and sometimes the service in the dining isn't as good. That is feedback that I've gotten from my mom. Other than that, she loves it! They have a dining room, pool, gym, and even an auditorium. All that was so far beyond anything else we saw and the price was less. Their rooms were nicer too. The price is very reasonable especially for what they offer.

My parents lived here. My father weighs 240 lbs and it was taking 3 people to transfer him to the toilet and things that. The manager said that legally they couldn't have the third caregiver so my father has to leave. That's the only reason. My parents were very happy there and very stimulated. It was a good mix of people. The food wasn't great but the people there were entertained a lot.

The Paradise Valley Village has many good things going for it and a few rather bad, also. The architecture, construction, maintenance and management are excellent and a pleasure to live with, but, the food is way over-priced, weird and half the time so inedible it makes even Denny's look good. There seems to be a none working chef whose menue selections, layout and makeup are childish at best. The soups, salads, drinks are very good. Most buffets and maybe one meal per week are fine. The wait staff are very friendly and considerate. The $450/month food charge is unreasonable considering the above. Some residents are paying only $250??

My parents have lived here as independents but now they cannot do as much as they use too outside the facility. They are still very independent but now they rely on Cherrywood to provide activties for them and there are very little for them. Yes the calendar looks full but when you get do to it there is very little to do throughout the day. There are organized exercises for them but not too many other things. There is bible study, bells, band, chess, bridge, and pool but how many people know how to do these things at 84 and no one is there to help organize; you are on your own. Nothing at night except a prayer meeting or a movie. and very little to do on the weekends. This is when seniors need activities the most. they are losing their independents so now the retirement homes need to help provide things for them to socialize and be involved with at a level about assistant living but not completely independent. My hope is this company finds something for these residents. Something involving the floors, to get people involved. Unfortanately my parents are bored now and so I am looking for a facility that can address this need.

Things started off a little rocky and didn't turn out the way we had hoped but mom is doing fine there now. She has made some friends and is participating in social events and activities. The food has a lot of room to be improved. The staff is friendly and helpful very kind. The community is clean and well maintained.

My mother has recently made the move into this community and so far we are very pleased with how things are going for her. The staff have been accommodating to her needs and I am comfortable with the quality of care she is receiving. She has had no complaints about the meals and enjoys participating in some of the activities from time to time with the other residents.

I chose this place for my aunt three years ago because at the time they said they were able to give her insulin injections should the time come that she needed them. Their certification changed in the meantime so that by the time my aunt did need injections, they were not able to give them and I had to move her. When she moved in it was brand new and pristine. I would say the biggest complaint my aunt had there was the quality of the food. It was a much larger facility so it was much more institutional and she grew up on the east coast so she was not used to a lot of the west coast flavorings and foods like avocados and Mexican flavors. The people at her table complained about the service in the dining room. The rest of it, I thought, was pretty good. As the years went on I was a little dismayed at the cleanliness upkeep, like cleaning the bathrooms and the carpets.

Facility is nice and clean. Food was good. My dad fell and had multiple transports from facility to hospital. I feel he could have been watched over better after 1st fall. I feel the cost of care is extreme but seems the industry standard.

The staff is very nice. My apartment is very nice and has large bathrooms. I haven't compared Cherrywood Village to other places, but in my situation, it's a little expensive for me.

If your loved one is independent this is not a good fit. The food is not very good and sometimes my mom goes without because she can't eat what they serve. In the past, the staff has not been as friendly as they should have. The price has been raised and we were told several things that would be done upfront but it was not. They have recently changed management and communication is better.

Meals can be the highlight of the day for people at this period in their lives. After two , month long visitation stays, as I reside out of state, I have found the food and service to be mediocre at best, at times painfully poor. I realize it is difficult for most to invest this time observing their loved ones living environment but I am sure for many like myself, unless Jesus walks through the door my parents are the most important people on the face of this earth.I am curious but there seem to be far to many five star ratings.
