This place is great. I would live here if I could. My mom is here as she needs the care due to the nature of her condition, and they do an excellent job providing her with the care that she needs. We are very happy with everything.

They seem to be doing just fine. They are really responsive to anything that comes up. I have eaten there and the food is fine, and mom really likes the desserts. I don't have any complaints, I would rate them highly.

I can't say enough about some of the workers there. Annette Richardson, Amy (from the Philippines), the other Annette are the best of the best. They are so loving and caring to my Mom and I'm sure all the others. Their personality never changes from day to day. I credit Amie O'Dell for hiring such caring individuals and making sure the love is carried through to the residents. Great place and recommend it highly.

Definitely an option after Jan 2015. My dad doesn't receive his full VA benefits until that time.

No matter what time you go there or call, they are always helpful or understanding. They never pass you on to the next person or make light of what your call is about. When I had concerns, the head nurse sat down with me for a half hour and addressed them all. All wonderful, caring and understanding staff who definitely know how to deal with dementia patients. Just fantastic. They do BINGO, exercises, people come in to do musical performances, church services, and a balloon toss thing. I have seen almost all of those activities every day. I wish my mother would participate more. I walked by one day and they were doing Wii bowling. I wanted to do that! They are taking her back after rehab, even though I don't believe that they would admit her now as a new resident. They are great at motivating her to bathe and take care of herself in a way that other places aren't able to do.

We're very happy with how they're doing with Mom so far! It's a nice looking place, with a very warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff are very friendly, and encourage the residents to stay active and involved by participating in the activities. They're also very good about communication and feedback, they give me a call to update me on how she is doing to keep me informed of any situations.

I was almost going to go with this one, I really liked the facility, I liked the staff, they had the same kind of memory care layout that I liked but I was just drawn to another place.

They're way friendly, my mom doesn't need a lot of care care, they just hand her her pills everyday. She does the exercising, she likes it. I feel the value is good for her, this is her second month so it's relatively new. It was real homey, more like a home atmosphere than a nursing home atmosphere. That was the main thing and she can keep her independence. She has dementia so she's making new friends everyday and she's happy.

This is a BEAUTIFUL facility with tons of social areas and is very well appointed. The staff was lovely too.

Very helpful and useful information from the director. We liked the small, intimate feel of the campus. This would be a nice place if Mom moves to Houston.

Brookdale is a great place especially if you don't have the time to take care of your parents, and you want to make sure everything is taken care of with no worries. They are really good at staying in communication if something comes up, and that gives me a peace of mind knowing my loved one is being watched and totally cared for if I can't be the one doing it. They have a nice environment, we found this Brookdale location that is more budget friendly and doesn't look much different than the more expensive one. It has the same layout, floor plan and everything. The only minor things we noticed were some of the buses they drive are older, whereas the more expensive location had newer models - which is completely reasonable and not a big deal. We didn't notice anything drastic aside from small details when we actually moved in, like the outside furniture and screen porch/door were older as well. Those things still looked nice and are in decent shape. They actually said they are working to replace the porch/screen door. I wouldn't have thought twice about it had I not seen the more expensive location first. One of the things that my mom really loves about it is that they have a cottage style, family home-like living. They keep it clean, it smells nice and it's updated with fresh paint. The staff are very friendly, I always see them interacting with her and they are very kind to her - you can't wish for more than that. She has short term memory problems and I don't have to worry that she will mistake her meds or not eat. It took her a while to get used to it and this was a concern of mine, but they assured me that she would adjust. All of a sudden one day it was almost as if she had adjusted overnight and now she's settled. She does have a dog with her and they have wonderful grounds, so she can walk her dog multiple times during the day. I'm really happy with this place and I wish that every senior could afford to stay in a community like this.

Our family really likes how safe and secured the Brookdale Shadowlake community is.

Good meals, housekeeping, activities, laundry, services, grounds, and friends.

This is a tough time for memory care facilities right now with the pandemic, but Brookdale Creekside shut down to visitors quickly, and the staff has stayed healthy, so all our loved ones are staying safe. Thank you staff for getting our family through this.

My mother is in the memory care unit and is not very interactive so I can't speak to the quality of the activities. However, the staff is very attentive and kind. I've dropped in to see how she is doing several times out of the blue and have found her care to be of a consistent quality.

Shadowlake is a nicely landscaped facility! It is well maintained and in good working order. However, the interior of the Clare Bridge unit, typical of most Brookdale facilities, is an older building and requires some attention. The carpets are stained and need freshening in a facility where germs are of concern. The staff is very kind hearted and hard working, it's always about the people not Brookdale Corp. It's a very difficult job and I do appreciate everyone's efforts. They all deserve some recognition. There have been a few missteps in care services, things that can be worked out in management. A concern of mine, however, is the fact that they have a calendar of activities and events, but these are often not carried out, which is unfortunate. I would like for not only my mother to participate in more activities, but all able residents. Of course, I understand that there are days that nothing goes as planned. This is our second Brookdale facility and our first experience was always trying "a win win" effort. There is new leadership at Shadowlake with a good heart and motivation. I'm optimistic that this will be a "win win" as well.

When I toured the Brookdale Hamilton Wolfe, I really liked it. It is a very nice community with friendly staff, but we find another place that fit my loved one's needs better.

It has been going good for my mom so far and the staff have been providing the care she needs and always being helpful. Her meals and activities are more than adequate with choices she can pick from. There has been no discrepancies about cleanliness through the community or in her room.
