Met with Patty June. Very homey, but kind of dreary. Smelled musty. Nice sized apt. View from rooms mostly parking lots. Not as convenient a location as some others for me and didn't offer anything unique that I couldn't find at a more convenient location.

Friendly staff, clean, large cafeteria, watch out for the residents (queuing to take meds, sign-out if they leave), activites, transportation to Doctor and shopping. The apartments/kitchen area and storage smaller than i hoped.

They are short staffed, they could not give my mom the attention that she needed medically. I was not aware they didn't have staff on site to do that even with small wounds that needed dressed. I do have hospice come in to assist with her care as was not aware was an option but now am and it is true blessing. For the most part the listen to what I have to say, which is nice.

What they could improve on would be overall, checking on the patients. My mother was there an developed a kidney infection. No one took time to do vitals. They didn't check her vitals. They are poorly understaffed. She had to be rushed to the ER. Her temp. Was 105 degrees

On the other tours mom had to be in a wheelchair. At another community she surprised me by being able to walk with her rollator for the whole tour, made us so happy. That's why we chose another community.

We actually had a bad experience. The administrators were good but the employees did not take proper care of my mother and she ended up back in the hospital. The facility was clean so we figured it was a good choice. The problem was the caregivers. They did not give her the correct medicine doses and expected her to eat on her own after we asked them to help her. Therefore, she became very sick. They then lied to the management staff. They also took her personal wheelchair and I had to search the facility for it.

They talk up a good game in the beginning, but there was never any follow through on the promises that were made. They charged mom and used up her therapy days and she never even received therapy. When she got here she had to isolate even though she was covid negative. I would not recommend to others looking.

Clearwater commons is fine if you or your family member doesn't need any help. Don't depend upon them to give much care. What care they promise you will not happen.
