Five Star Senior Living

I wrote a May 2014 review below and still feel the same way. I had to move my parents due to my mom's declining health and dad wanted to be near her. They were NOT happy about having to leave Clearwater, as they felt it was home to them. The size of the building is not overwhelming, and people know each other. They loved the food, the room and the staff, especially the therapists and nurses!! In fact, the occupational and physical therapists called me to tell me they felt something "wasn't quite right" with my mom one week. When I went over, I didnt see a huge difference but I took her in to a doc, and sure enough, she had a bowel obstruction which had moved to gangrene! If it hadnt been caught quickly, I feel sure she would have died. The aids did a great job and kept my mom laughing. The activities director does an amazing job with decorations and events. The food is super. The location was convenient for me. I thank the Clearwater staff on behalf of my family for making this a good experience for as long as it was possible. God bless you all. Everyone at Clearwater Commons has gone above and beyond the call of duty to make my mother's life as safe and as comfortable and as meaningful as possible. The warm and caring atmosphere here is not a put-on. The employees really are concerned with the well-being of the residents. There is a true sense of neighborhood and community among the residents. I can't count the number of times I've heard Mom say "I really love living here!" And the food is good. Very good.

The residents seem content and staff is friendly. Staffing sometimes seems a little light on the weekends.

What we like the most about Morningview is that the staff are attentive, they had area to move to memory care, garden in middle. We would recommend this community to other families who may need a place for their loved ones

The facility is very short staffed which means things take much longer Seems like they cannot hire a chef who has experience cooking for Large numbers. There have been very little variety and bland flavors

Everyone has been great! Staff is very attentive to their patients. Food menus are specific to each individuals dietary needs and tasty too. The facility is extremely clean and very well maintained on a daily basis. Highly recommended if you have to place a loved one. We are very happy.

The people on staff are willing to talk to you at any time. If there is a problem, they go the extra mile to get it fixed.

A little rocky at the start but settled in well for my parents. Nicer facility for the price. Needed to get my parents into an affordable place. Great location close to the last place that they lived.

There was no availability in the other places I called, others had a respite stay of 30 days or they were to expensive.I feel that these assistant living/memory care facilities is just a money game due to the experiences I have had with them in not taking accountability in their actions. They are happy to take your money saying they are only responsible for the residents but not responsible for any personal items missing.( clothing, shoes, blankets, eye glasses)

[name removed] gave us a great tour. There was communal dining and my loved one like this community. However, my loved one wasn't ready for assisted living and this was the drawback for us.

So far so good here at this facility. The staff have been really great and my mom likes being here and she has gotten adjusted well. She is participating in activities and meeting people.

We knew this was going to be the place for our loved one right when you walked in - you could see straight through all the way to the outdoor patio and the staff members have just been so friendly. The residents that also live there have been super nice. Overall it has been a really good experience and we would recommend this community to other families.

Nice place that encourages socializing and family friendly

My family member is very happy at Five Star Residences. It's a very homey environment. She has made a lot of friends there. She says it was her best decision when looking for a place to live. The care she's receiving has been good. Sometimes she wishes they could do blood draws earlier in the day so she didn't have to delay her breakfast, but they did try to get their outsourced help that handles those sorts of things to come earlier the last time after she mentioned it.

The people at Five Star Residences are genuinely interested in caring for the residents. I especially like that it is a smaller community, everything is on one floor. The distance from the common areas to their rooms was not as daunting as seen in other places. This facility is a hidden gem, I don't think a lot of people know about it. They truly have everything you'd want.

Our family had an in person tour and we liked the community the tour was nice, but we did not like how the memory care building was in the same area as the assisted living.

We chose Morningview at irving Park because it is a smaller community with more personalized care and friendly staff. They also had a room available with a patio that opened to up a courtyard that was really pretty. The room sizes are on the smaller side, but it is adequate. I would recommend to others looking.

The community is very nice and we have been happy with them. I would recommend this community to others based on our experience.

Our loved one was only there for two weeks but the community was very nice and clean. The staff members and everyone there were very nice. When we first were looking for communities, Morningview just seemed to take more of our loved ones interests in mind and not treat her just like another new residents moving in.

From our understanding our loved one seems to be happy with the food, and the rooms and overall layout of the community would be a five out of five.
