Five Star Senior Living

My mother is doing just fine since her move into Clearwater Commons. We are very happy with them. The food is decent and every time I go visit her, there is no bad smell and the facility is spotless. Mom gets her hair done once a week, and it has been a good experience for her so far.

My mom has very good care since moving in. She was so pleased when we visited that we signed her up that day. Now it has worked out very well. From what she has mentioned the meals are pretty good to her. The activities are fine. They had minor remodeling to do for her room and they finished with no issues. I would recommend them for their location and price. There is value in it's location.

Clearwater Commons is an outstanding community with wonderful dinning. I stayed for lunch! I had a tour a few months ago and it was excellent, the young lady was very sweet. Clearwater Commons is a great community and I will be moving in the near future.

It's wonderful so far!My uncle moved here and it's been a complete 180 from the last senior community he was in. He's playing BINGO and he's trying wheelchair Yoga. He got this haircut there and he got so many compliments.I guess he won't be going to his previous hairdresser anymore! He is a part of the veteran's group and goes out to dinner once a month.They work with the VA and take him to his appointments. They also cater to Veterans and offer a discount for those who served. They have an honor wall where they put the pictures of Veterans. They have pictures of the residents and staff alike. The gentleman, [Removed] who drives the bus is a veteran as well.My uncle lost two loved one's after moving in two months ago and Morningview has been very supportive and caring during this time.The staff is so attentive. I'll visit for an hour and they ask me if I need anything.They are good to me and they cater to the residents as well. I love that I can call and they will answer any questions that I have.He is in the assisted living part but I appreciate that they offer individualized care to those in the memory care as well. Everyone here has a smile on their face and the staff knows everyone, including me my name. I am absolutely thrilled with Morningview!

Great community!

Noticed right away the professionalism and friendly the staff were to us, sales staff really stood out to me. They went on above to make our experience a delight. The grounds were very clean and well kept. We will be more than glad to let our friends and family know how much this community goes the extra mile. This is definitely the place we are looking for

The tour was wonderful, I loved how beautiful the community is. The staff are so friendly and even sent us home with homemade, baked cookies. I noticed they did offer activities in different rooms. It is clean and well-maintained. The only issue we had was the distance from our home. If the community was closer, it would have been better for us.

This past summer my Mother took a turn for the worse. Surgery and a stint in a local senior rehabilitation center made us realize that she would no longer be able to live alone. We were given short notice that the rehabilitation center would be releasing her and so I went on a flurry of visits to local assisted living communities with the help of A Place for Mom. Clearwater Commons Senior Living Community was my fifth stop. All it took was an hour of touring, visiting with the staff, and talking the particulars of my Mother's situation and needs to know that this was where I wanted her to live. A few days later I brought my sister to tour and talk and we set the wheels in motion to move Mom to Clearwater Commons. Over the next two months my Mother experienced some issues and the rehabilitation kept extending her stay. In the meantime we had possession of her apartment at Clearwater Commons and were able to furnish it and have it ready for her arrival. She got to tour the facility and have dinner in the dining room so she knew where she was going and liked it. The staff was flexible, helpful, and the first to offer to help in any way they could. They made everything so easy for us. Everyone there was friendly and open. They would often stop to introduce themselves and ask my sister and me about my Mom and when she would be coming to stay as we worked to get her apartment ready. Unfortunately she died a couple of weeks before she was scheduled to leave the rehabilitation center and move into her apartment. I cannot praise the staff and residents of Clearwater Commons enough. They made us feel like part of the family and that extends to the atmosphere of the place. That's why it was such an easy choice once I visited. I would recommend Clearwater Commons to anyone looking fo r a comfortable, well managed, and friendly place for a relative, friend, or yourself. I know when my time comes to consider assisted livie, if Clearwater Commons is still part of the Five Star Senior Community, they will be top of my list!

My parents moved to Clearwater Commons this year, after several years being in their own home with in home services. This was a great option for a while, but with increasing physical, cognitive and safety needs, we made the move to Clearwater. I was VERY concerned about how they would acclimate! I need not have worried: Clearwater has been a great experience for all of us. It started with the flexibility to create their living space at Clearwater in a similar style/color as their home. Mr. Keys made the room look perfect for them, and did so quickly and to the time frame I was told. Chris made the leasing process go quickly and smoothly, and we had a choice of rooms. Nursing/assistants have been super with medication distribution and checking vitals. Caregivers make sure physical needs like showers, dressing etc are done and my parents are always well groomed and looking great. Physical and occupational therapy work with them and check in with me as to specific needs and suggestions. The office staff is wonderful and the building is well supervised. Security is excellent: My husband accidentally forgot to sign my dad out when he took him somewhere, and it was noted right away and I was called. My parents LOVE the food and I also eat with them often and can attest that the food is FRESH and well done. It is not canned/prepackaged stuff. It is HOMEMADE and features fresh fruits and vegetables. The variety on the menu is great. The servers know my parents' names and what they like to order. The other residents have made an obvious effort to greet all of us. There are plenty of activities: most recently, after a beautiful Easter meal, live music was provided, featuring music form the 40's and 50's and I love a video clip I took of my dad singing along. He has short term memory loss, but he knew the words to those "Oldies!" The location of Clearwater is great for us because my parents had lived not 5 minutes away, and know the area. I live close by and it is convenient for me to drop by any time, and I do, which is helpful to see the management of the place at various times. It is consistently well run. The court yard garden is going to be lovely once the blooms come out, and I encourage you to walk through... Although my parents no longer have a pet, they are allowed, so I can bring my dog by for a visit. I still need to be an active participant in their care and business, but this move has given me great peace of mind, knowing that they are well monitored and safe.

My mother has been a resident of Clearwater Commons for many, many years. She, along with our family, have always found the staff to be very friendly, totally engaged in their work, and extremely understanding and empathetic with the residents as well as their families. In addition, the community provides a very comfortable, clean, and safe environmnet for my mom.

We've had a good experience, and we have enjoyed the experience. She has a lot of needs and wants and they have been very accommodating, and in general they do what they say they are going to do. There are some people that aren't exactly perfect, but nobody is perfect all the time. Wherever there has been a problem it was taken care of immediately. I've never seen anything I didn't like. She likes the food. I think the night staff could be increased by one person, she occaisionally has to wait at night for assistance. I liked that it is small and she gets a lot of individual attention, and the seasonal decorations are always nice.

Exceptional community (facility). Clean, nice smell, staff friendly and knowledgeable. Nice courtyard area, various indoor sitting areas. Safety and security emphasized. Gracious dining with many choices. All was good. Would help placement at end of LT Care Ins coverage. No Medicaid. Showed a companion rm of another lady with cat. Had odor - many apologies. 1900 open for taking plus add care level fee (Meds only) Lots of activities. Reminds resident to participate.

Mom has been at Morningview since May; we have been very pleased with the facility. The administration and caregivers are very accommodating and have made every attempt to meet Mom's specific medical needs. She likes the facility and has adjusted quite well to the programs offered as well as to the staff.

This was actually my favorite, however, they don't have a vacant room in the size we need right now. They are at least willing to take her name and call me when and if they get something available. The Director arrived late for our appointment and we were on the verge of leaving, but am so glad that we didn't. Really nice place and one I know my mom would love.

Because they had no vacancies, there was not a model unit that I could look at, but was allowed to look at a couple of units that had residents. I didn't get the feel that the apartments were as nice as the ones at the Carriage house, I believe it was mainly due to the residents individual furnishings and not being set up as a model. I did like that these units had walls to divide into separate rooms and this would be a plus. I really liked the fact that there was only one entrance/exit and that the door was locked when an attendant was not at the front desk. I also liked that the courtyard was enclosed. The additional medical options such as a visiting geriatric physicatrist (spl) would also be a plus.

All utilities except phone, w/3 meals day, wellness clinic, activities, doc appts, clean apt, bed linen/towels, community library/computer, movie theater, taxes paid, kitchenet in - has optional meal ticket.

Five Star Residences of Clearwater is priced is very reasonable. To me, it seemed more like Independent living with some assisted. It's a great facility, just not set up for dementia. The caregivers are fine, the facility is pretty clean, and the activities are great.

Hello, I recently had a stroke and stayed at Morningview for respite and physical and occupational therapy. The staff is wonderful,very caring and positive. The food is great. I would very much recommend staying at Morningview either for respite or as a regular resident.

On February 24, 2015 we moved my Mom who had lived with me for the past 2 years into Morningview at Irving Park. First I spoke with Carol, an advisor at a Place for Mom. We spoke at length and she helped point in the right direction and shared some tips and tools for the search. Next I spent months researching, visiting and analyzing facilities. I chose Morningview for a couple of reasons, but the most important was the interaction I witnessed between the administration and the residents each time I visited. Whether the visit was announced or not the residents were always spoken to my name and they seemed to realize that they were actually cared for and about. Two to three weeks prior to the day she moved in, I felt nothing but dread, guilt, despair and nervousness as an only child placing my Mom. Was I failing her or my adored Dad who has passed away 7 years ago? Every one of those feelings were self imposed. Now as I see pictures when friends and family stop by, I realize I made the RIGHT choice. She seems to have adjusted well and there she has the opportunity to be around others, develop new friendships and be closer to her great grandchildren. Just because she has dementia does not mean that she can't be happy, satisfied or look beautiful. I am very thankful to those who care for my Mom.
