It's a nice place to be. I enjoy being here. The apartments are large, at least the one I have is. And there's a nice open area around it, with sidewalks all the way around, which makes a nice area to walk. There's three fountains, and the walkway goes right by the big fountain. If you walk out from the dining area, you can walk right out to another of the fountains. Each independent living apartment has a patio. I haven't had any problems with the staff. If I need something, I usually get it. If I need something from the cleaning lady, she'll come and take care of it. Everybody has been very friendly. They aren't offering activities really besides bingo. From what I understand, they're going to try to offer more, but I don't know if it's going to develop or not. I would recommend this community to others. I think it's worth the money.

This option was OK. I liked activities and amenities provided. I am concerned about the narrow hallways-got crowded around the dining room as residents waited to enter for lunch-and with the walking distances down hallways. For someone without mobility constraints, would be easy.

We toured this community for care. The staff was caring. The community is clean and the menu was appealing. They offer activities for the residents who are wanting to participate. We needed a community that was able to work with payment. Families might want to consider this community for the care of a loved one.

The price appears fantastic. All positive comments. The only question I have is that there are no services or amenities listed. Sort of hard to get a good feel for the facility other than the price. Still we will make a tour to get a first hand observation.

They do not have a secure Memory Care facility.

Loving it here. The nurses and general help are all excellent, very helpful and kind.

Staff were very friendly, but it's a converted motel without a homey feel.

I don't think she has any complaints, so far. It's clean and she likes to go to the music activities. I do have one complaint; that it was not made clear that memory care was all private pay. They can't be in an assisted living memory care on medicaid. They didn't have a time limit for the assisted side, you didn't have to private pay a year first. You pay until you spend down your money, then you can switch to medicaid, unless you need memory care, then it's private pay only, and for medicaid you need a nursing home.

We're very pleased with how things have turned out at Indian Oaks so far, it's a very nice community! The facility is clean and well kept, and the staff are friendly and have done a good job looking out for our loved one. We've got no complaints!

I think that moving in and everything went fantastic. We had a lot of help during those times and with the issues involving that. Maybe a little bit better organization with the activities when my loved one first moved in would have been good. Tt was a very positive experience.

We toured this location when we were looking into options for a loved one. It was a nice clean place, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful, but it did feel a bit institutional compared to others that we looked at. This was a nice enough community, but we didn't think it would be the best fit for our loved one.

We chose Rockport because of the value, the price, that's why we initially checked it out before any of the others because of the price and then we realized that it was really nice and clean. The only complaints they have is the food. When we first visited we tried the food and it was okay but I guess they're saying it's getting worse. We haven't spoken with anyone about it yet, but they're really really disappointed in the food and they're saying a lot of other people are too. I wish they would have an activities person, or a couple, that really goes around to people and knocks on their door and encourages people to get out and do things. My mother in law sits in her room with the curtains pulled and sits there all day; if they had people that would really encourage them to get out and do things that would be great.

Added montnhly services can add a lot to the bill.

What they could improve on would be patient care and at the moment we would not recommend Regent of Newport News to other families

The Northridge Senior Living used to be a great place to live. Since new management has taken over, things have gone down hill. Services have been cut. Food is still fine but not as good as it once was. The residents are still friendly. Management comes across as cold and not welcoming at all. Came in making changes to things that worked well just to make changes. I was always amazed at how the building was decorated for any holiday. It really made it seem so warm and homey. Now, there might be a small decoration on an end table but nothing like it used to be. It used to feel like family when you entered the building. That feeling is definitely not there anymore.

Northridge was wonderful - 4.5/5, prior to change in ownership this summer and huge turnover of staff. I would say it is more like a 3.5/5 at the moment...they have reduced their transportation services, no longer have staff to run in house activities like bingo, etc. Meal options have been greatly reduced. My oved one is not looking to move, as they have made friends there and it is still more affordable than other places of same quality. They like the cleanliness of it overall, but feel the new management is not as friendly/accommodating as the previous staff.
